"You're a nice guy. Any girl would be lucky to be your girlfriend."
"If someone doesn't like you, there must be something wrong with them."
Stop. Just fucking stop.
Are you trying to turn him into an incel? Because that's how you create incels.
I get it. He's upset because people don't like him just because he's different. You want to reassure him. But this is not how you do it.
Being disliked is a fact of life. People have every right to dislike him. He also has every right to dislike someone.
If you want to reassure him, you can instead remind him that someone disliking him doesn't mean others will dislike him too.
You can also inform him of how it's acceptable to treat someone who you don't like. It's acceptable to not like someone, and there doesn't even have to be a good reason for it. But it's not acceptable to cause harm to them, to recruit others to not like them, to openly declare dislike for them when they aren't doing anything that requires liking them, or to exclude them from public places.

I’ve said it all along. So many things wrong with that day, including the reactions of the Secret Service agents. (Watch their reaction when Trump was allegedly ‘shot’ and compare it to the agents reactions when Reagan was actually shot.)
Even a graze from the alleged rifle would have taken off the entire ear. Truthful, knowledgeable marksmen will verify. As will any credible ER/trauma physician.
So. Many. Things. Wrong.

Was going thru my Letterboxd n double-checking to see what, if anything, was on Tubi. Got to Van Helsing and when I searched, uh, this was one of the results?
An astronaut movie? An animated astronaut movie? Named after the guy from Dracula?
The description only raises more questions: "In the aftermath of Earth’s nuclear destruction, scientist Jack Van Helsing joins forces with a team of astronaut survivors to colonize the moon."
Like okay, whatever. Sounds like a relatively normal sci-fi plot I guess. But like, why is his name Van Helsing? Are there vampires in this movie? Do they like, live on the Moon? Who decided to make a movie about Van Helsing in space? I am currently debating whether to look up a full synopsis or to watch this blind.

How very depressing that Neil Gaiman had trended not even a tiny bit for demonstrating what a fucking horrific person he is.
As a reminder, he's suing Caroline Wallner, one of his accusers, for breaking her NDA. Not for libel. He's saying she shouldn't have told anyone about it, not that she lied.
He doesn't need the money. He's risking the Streisand effect. He is punishing Caroline, he's trying to intimidate other victims who have signed NDAs to scare them into continued silence.
He is no friend to women, to the LGBTQIA+ community, to anyone quite frankly unless he thinks they are of value to him.
Share the story. Put it on Facebook and bluesky and whatever else you're on. Make it clear what a horrifying person he is. Tell your friends. He's paying Edendale a fortune to try and cover this up. Make this hard for him. Make it cost him money.

found this and felt the need to share
Hello, you might not have heard of the UK supreme court decision stating that trans women are not women under the Equality act, which effectively sets the UK 50 years back in terms of queer progression. They stated that a woman is based on their biological sex, which rules out transgenderism in general.
This is a dire effect not just on trans women, but British women and queers. If you are a British citizen, please sign this petition to appeal this ruling and fight for equality, and if not, please share with others. Thank you.

Anyway, daily reminder from a culturally isolated Romani person.
Gypsy does not mean wanderer.
It literally means ‘people from egypt’ or similar, as europeans believed Romani people were from Egypt. It has become known similar to nomad due to how our ancestors have been forced to be nomadic due to racism and ostracization, but it is a SLUR.
Romani people are STILL being forcibly sterilized.
Romani people are STILL being forced into ghettos.
Romani people are still facing violence and danger in countless European countries- and recently, I’ve seen the beginnings of the extremes in the United States.
Have a little fucking respect and DON’T USE A SLUR THAT’S BEEN USED FOR CENTURIES AGAINST US.
And for the love of whatever’s up there, ESPECIALLY do not use it to describe your witchcraft. It is playing on the ‘magic gypsy’ trope, and is EXTREMELY insulting.
non romani people, please reblog this.

There’s also a thing that people who think they’re being accepting do where they go “Not wanting romance is SO SAD AND LONELY! Not wanting to read romance novels is SEXIST! Not wanting a partner makes you a FREAK! Not having sex with your partner is BAD and ABUSIVE! Not feeling sexual attraction to your partner means there is SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU!… unless you’re aromantic or asexual, of course! Then you get a pass.” The only acceptable reason to deviate from the amatonormative and sexnormative societal norm is to claim an identity label that exempts you. The actual thing you’re doing is still bad… but don’t worry it’s OK for you to do it! It feels like, we haven’t actually challenged any norms at all, you just get a pass on them because you can’t help it, poor thing. If you have the capacity to feel these, you have the obligation to; you are only exempt if you claim an identity that says that you are unable to. It implies that we would if we could, but we can’t, and it’s merely unfair to punish us for our shortcomings. Romance and sex are still social requirements, that hasn’t changed, we just are allowed a pass on it because we are unable to meet them. (And we’re still expected to reassure everyone that of course we recognize that their romance and sex is far more important than anything we will ever be able to have!)
I don’t want aros and aces to get special exemption from the requirement to have romance and sex and romantic attraction and sexual attraction; I want that to not be a requirement for anyone.
