Loathed it as much as the cast did. And it shows.
The Crown's Season 4 and Emma Corrin still make me mad. Can we get a redo?
Emma has the charisma and talent of a petrified tree. They aren't acting as much as they are mimicking Diana's head tilt and bambi eyes in every. single. scene.

Bling, please? KP stuff would also satisfy my bling craving:)
I am organizing my photo archives this week and rediscovered a bounty of royal fashion photographs I'd completely forgotten about:
Diana's dresses that were on display in a special summer exhibition at Kensington Palace (viewed as part of the state apartments tour).
Some tiaras that are part of Kensington Palace's permanent jewelry exhibtiion.
Some clothing of Queen Victoria's, part of the permanent Victoria exhibition at KP.
Royal outfits donated to the Museum of Fashion in Bath. (One outfit on display was Sophie's outfit to The Royal Wedding.)
Separately from that trip to Britain, I had gone to see a traveling exhibition of costumes and props from Seasons 1-2 of The Crown and I have a bunch of photos from that too.
Would anyone be interested seeing these? If you are, let me know which ones and I'll put some posts together this weekend!
(Also from my Britain trip, I have photos of the KP state apartments tour, some royal portraits in the National Portrait Gallery, and a few exterior photos of the Buckingham Palace gardens, and I also did the Harry Potter studios tour so there are a million photos of Harry Potter props, sets, and costumes that I'm happy to post and share too if anyone's interested.)

I'm 2 years away from 60mumblesomethigshinyoverthere!
I adore birthdays because my parents are still alive - hell Mom did the work! It's your first birthday after they die that hurts.
“This had everything to do with Meghan’s birthday. She loves making a fuss (and a fuss being made for her) for her birthday.” Turning 43 is a meh birthday (I say that as a 46 year old) anyway but also on a Sunday. I’m baffled why she needs this kind of validation at this age. She seems like one of those people who thinks the entire month revolves around their birthday. Her husband has more of a milestone birthday this year but he wants to spend it in the UK, not with her or their kids. Maybe he knows he won’t get the same treatment from her that she probably expects and demands of him. Their need for attention has to be tiring to be around for everyone in their orbit. It’s never ending. I’m tired just reading about it.
Some people just really like their birthdays and make a fuss every year.
Others like their milestone birthdays.
Others would rather crawl under a rock and die than have anyone give them any attention on their birthday. (🙋‍♀️)

Amen.
Allow me to be more succinct?
What M wanted us to know in the beginning? Was what she wanted us to know. That was the whole Whole Foods bullshit. The rest, as we know, is history.
Persuasion is hard, marketing is easy.
RTA what is your opinion about the rumors that Daily Mail has a heavy dossier on Rachel but stopped short of publishing it thanks to the love shield released by her current husband?
The latest threat is so unconvincing, she looked uncomfortable as hell. I feel like she answered it in an impulse rather than answering with a plot in mind, the crazy blinking is proof that she was nervous and caught off guard. All these while she was using Harold to push the buttons but she wouldn't dare to do it on her own because once she does it, the BRF will give the green light to release all her dirty skeletons in that big ass cupboard.
Harold looks like he's ready to open his mouth too coz he's not willing to be Just Harry anymore and if that means throwing Rachel under the bus, he'll be okay with it. Looks like Rachel is truly desperate but helpless.
It wasn't the love shield that stopped the dossiers from coming out. It was the BRF clamping down sometime mid-2017 (I feel like it was around Pippa's wedding, but others differ) - probably when Harry started talking about wanting to get The Queen's approval to marry and Meghan started leaking they were already engaged.*
No one thought the relationship had any kind of seriousness until the love shield came out. They thought she was just another girl Harry was spending time with and that she'd be gone in a few weeks like every other girl. But then came the love shield and everything changed. Reporters started digging into her because she was worth the time, attention, and ink now since she was just heartbeats away from being in the family.
*Here's my theory about their engagement. I think Harry proposed as soon he had felt he had a connection with Meghan, probably after their third date in Africa, and it wasn't a very instagrammable kind of proposal. It was a dirty greasy sweaty post-coital proposal. Meghan said yes (because of course she would), it's how Harry fast-tracked a lot of approvals - especially letting her stay at KP as "just" a girlfriend, which we know she did because of the 2016 Remembrance Day papwalk and Harry's recollection in Spare - but when they get actually finally get the approvals to announce their engagement (which I suspect the BRF made them delay until Meghan was done with Suits), Meghan realized it wasn't a cute, romantic proposal story (it didn't even have a ring!) so she planned a redo that Harry "surprised" her with when she moved to the UK. And that's why there's three different stories about how they got engaged. (And how Jess knew to answer the phone when Meghan called mid-proposal.)

And and AND - they can have their own hired security anywhere they go. They just have to HIRE them. Ya know,,, pay.
Look... I am my head of an international charity, have to go to Bristol. (I know... I know... ). I am taking a commercial flight (cheapest one I can find - no free beer). Staying in a effig Hilton and sharing a room with 3 other people.
And we've raised 34M in the last 3 years.
There are times I fucking hate people...
Do you think the Harry and his lawyers would use the recent riots in UK to push for his security? After the exclusive to People magazine from Harry and what he talked about in that ITV documentary I definitely feel he will use the riots to say how he and his wife are unsafe and require RPO and I do feel the labour govt will be sympathetic to him and give into his demands.
They can try but it won’t work because their argument claims they don’t have *any* security when they go to the UK. Which is a lie. They do get security when they go to the UK because they’re Tier 3 principals, which means their security is assessed on a case-by-case basis and they must give prior notice to make arrangements. If there’s a threat, they get security. If there’s no threat, no security. And guess what — Harry being the King’s son means there is always a threat so he will always get some kind of security when he goes to the UK.
What the Sussexes want is to become Tier 1 principals, which is 24/7 security with no advanced coordination or notification requirements. And that’s not happening unless their status in the royal family changes, which is Charles’s decision. Hence the latest public assault on the BRF - to use public outrage to force Charles to change his mind.

My Pop is a retired airline dude (and also a sailor), and he suggested "Nope"..
:)
Does anyone have a good name for a boat that is fire related but not Smoke on the Water? I’m helping my dad fix up a boat and we’re struggling with a name that ties into my dad’s volunteer firefighting job
My cousin (a firefighter) named his kayak Blazing Glory.
Just think of all the movies that are about fire or all the songs that reference fire. Or make a parody of your own like “The Sailing Inferno” (from the movie The Towering Inferno) or “Hunk of Burning Boat” (from Elvis’s Burning Love).

Trump is still ... still. Karma doesn't work on our timeline, apparently.
She really does have the worst timing. She drops her new grieving parents website and interview the day before A-lister Colin Farrell’s big new special needs kids foundation drop, which comes with a People magazine cover, extended interview and coverage everywhere. Maybe it’s because I am also a special needs mom (though for in different SN community), but his extended interview showed up in my YouTube algorithm and newsfeeds everywhere. Seemed like a huge, coordinated drop that blew any chance of hers catching completely away. He did say he wants it to be like Paul Newman’s foundation and he went big with the drop.
PS - I watched his interview - he did everything to platform the foundation and others right, like you said celebrities should be doing in 2024.
When your only purpose for service is to promote yourself and get all the attention, karma will put you in your place.

As a child of a dead US vet, this breaks my heart and fuels my soul.
Yes, I help run a US vet charity (not advertising here because that would be gauche). I cant imagine whatever the effng hell they're doing. It's not only embarrassing, it's insulting.
Thank you for sharing the Invictus.
As someone who works in strategic charitable governance in the UK, the Invictus saga really makes my blood boil.
IMO, it should make anyone who has any familiarity with the nonprofit sector upset.
Once I became aware that not all charities are what they seem, the more and more I see the scumminess that's out there. Of course, not all charities are bad or troubled, but when a charity is bad, the charity is bad.
What sucks for me is that Invictus has such a great purpose and could really do some serious good for the veteran community. But Harry has really hamstrung them with his attitude and behavior that it's "his" personal organization.

(Re-reading through my posts... sweating... sweating... Whew.)
I'm seeing a lot of new followers and getting asks from new anons, so it's time for another introduction.
Hi, I'm Rumor Tracking Anon. I track rumors and theories about the British Royal Family with a side of analysis and pr shenanigans. Some rules of engagement for your asks:
This is not a traditional royal-watching blog. I don't get into fashion or engagements here. (Usually.)
I do not discuss or post on minor royals, who are anyone under 18 and/or still in school, even if the school is a university or a military academy.
No body-shaming anyone. That includes Meghan.
I don’t keep track of all the nicknames and inside jokes everyone has for the Sussexes. Just call them by their names. Haz, Harry, Meg, Meghan are okay. Not a fan of Rachel or Harold, but I may publish those if they’re reasonable.
(Quick interjection here: Asks using 'Rachel' and 'Harold' are becoming angry. I understand that people are mad and upset by their behavior, but asks calling them names or equating them to vermin/animals aren't getting published.)
I don't fully hate the Sussexes and I don't blindly worship the Waleses. Everyone gets credit for the things they do right. Everyone gets criticism for the things they need to do better.
Sometimes I go off on tangents about pop culture.

Can I hug you? I've been studying the difference between reality and perception for 4 effing decades and I still can't penetrate the xerrati... sigh.
But I have to ask about your last sentence...
What other royal women? I know the Scandi stuff... do peeps who read you care about that? Because if they do...:)
Catherine ia boring? Why? Because she isn't hosting pity parties, serving word salad, tipping the paps or leaking stories?
This lady broke the internet a million times with her sense of fashion regardless of them being high end or affordable. Most things that she wears sells out immediately and she's contributed in billions to the UK economy.
She's a future queen raising a future king and heirs to the throne who are exceptionally well mannered while still running the household like a normal mum.
She came out for her royal engagement less than 24 hours after receiving 1 million death threats. She nearly made Rachel fall backwards with a mere look. She carried out engagements with the traitors only because she's loyal to The Crown and the country. Do I need to say more about her work with the ground breaking research on early childhood?
This lady coined the ever iconic "recollections may vary" quote. She plays piano beautifully. She's absolutely fab in almost all kinds of sports. She paints and does photography expertly. She's ever ready to try everything when doing her tours or royal activities.
She walked the ramp for charity at uni, need I say more? And who can forget the skiing night that she organised? She has sick sense of humour according to William and cooks really well. William couldn't stand seeing her enjoying her life post breakups and wanted her back the next second agter he broke her heart. Her husband looks at her like she's a snack and the royal family members have confirmed that she's a competitive person but so fun to be around.
Boring? I think legendary is the word you're looking for anon.
As people will see in the comments to that post, we’ve already addressed how/why people may consider Kate boring:
Tumblr media
Naysayers call Kate boring because she doesn’t serve entertaining drama like other royal women have. And that’s ok, because that’s their perception.

You're right, of course. But if you blow it out to the bigger picture you can see that M and C used it to very different ends. C knew that PR was important - this was going to be her life. PR is the purpose of the BRF. Yes, they do the work. But if no one knows they do the work, what is their purpose? Her 'growing up' was to decide whether or not she wanted a public role.
M, on the other hand, wanted to use PR to invent her. Not to BE it, but to give a perception. Never mind the work... eff the work. Just perception. This is why she is constantly failing - it's all smoke and mirrors and no substance.
(I swear I will take off my psych hat and shut up:)
Can kate be considered a pr savvy?
I think so, but in a different way than Meghan is.
Meghan is PR savvy in that she knows how to work the media and how to best position herself to get maximum coverage.
Kate is PR savvy in that she knows less is more and how to protect her privacy with so much coverage and attention around her.
And really, it’s a reflection on the environments they both “grew up” with their fame in. Kate grew up in a fame environment where physical media was king, chased and confronted by reporters and cameras. Her image was one created for her by others, and she had very little control over that, so she turned inwards and developed a PR savviness focuses on protecting that inwardness.
Meghan grew up in a fame environment based on digital and social media. Yes, she was selling herself but she could also exclusively control her image and manipulate what people thought of her through use of social media. So because she views PR as business transactions, her PR savviness focuses on the outward projections of her image and protecting that ability to connect outward.
Both have positive aspects. Both have negative aspects. If anyone needs a research topic for their ph.d, have it: the dichotomy of PR between Kate and Meghan and their experiences with early fame impacted their approach towards representation.

Didn't she use this threat before in the Cut interview? Good to know it has as much punch as it did then.
Although, I did feel the earth move. So, given that I live in the middle of oil country, it was either the entirety of the British Isles rolling their eyes or fracking.
I'm used to seeing her attempting to sabotage the Waleses' birthdays but sabotaging her own birthday with that "barely scratched the surface" threat then moaning that the BRF didn't wish her is hilarious! 😆 Surprised that even Daily Mail didn't celebrate her - did any of the US tabloids sang happy birthday?
No tabloids that I’m aware of.
It was a blink-and-miss-it trend on my Twitter “for you” (which are trends based on your algorithms, not the actual real trending topics) for like 20 minutes at 8am-ish ET Sunday morning…which is how you know it was bots. Bots or non-Americans.

I have a neighbor and good friend who watches the morning shows and whatnot. We were sharing a bottle (or two) of wine and I asked her what she knew about the current BRF (she knows my absolute love of history [far older than modern], and she studied this shit).
No where was M or H mentioned. She loved ERII, adores Camilla, thinks Charles is a good king and a good man, adores the Wales family. Her only quibble was that the Edinboroughs were too long in the making and we need more Anne (don't we all).
I know anecdotes aren't data, but at least they involve wine:)
*Pained gulp and eyes trying their hardest to well with tears* “I haven’t really scraped the surface on my experience” these are more threats lazily disguised by a vague reference to what? That particular night she had to go to that performance? Her treatment during first pregnancy? Her entire experience as a “royal”? . This entire interview is about trying to get a response from the BRF and once again clapping back at negative press. She is sooo desperate and pathetic. Also, I don’t know if my twitter algorithm has completely changed recently but I saw almost NO mention of this latest cry for attention. I don’t think anyone cares anymore. She doesn’t seem to understand that dangling some alleged wrongdoing over a five year period is tiresome and is completely desensitizing everyone to anything that could possibly have happened to her. Enjoy your beige spiral into irrelevance MM
The algorithms haven’t changed - the interview didn’t get any traction at all, whatsoever.
I told y’all no one watches the Sunday morning shows, and here’s the proof.
It’ll be interesting if anyone recaps it on the Monday shows. I’m guessing no, because it was a big weekend for the Olympics with several historic wins and records being set.
