To be clear about my latest text reblog, I do emphasize with the fans who are feeling upset over no Breach world tour, I'm not American myself. What I'm not ok with is people blaming the band for this (if they would, they could - the burnout is pretty obvious from Tyler's post, not to mention the world tours are logistical nightmares, and the Breach tour is more of a final leg of Clancy anyway), or people creating drama over the break and being doomerist about it (once again, not the people who say that makes them sad and joke to cope - those are normal reactions, but making it into a tragedy is not).

I think maybe ppl are forgetting that tyler said they'd never take an *unannounced* break like they did between blurryface and trench. Not that they'd never take a break again period. Just that they'd let us know in advance, which he did.

I also think maybe people are forgetting/don't realize the hiatus was not a proper break. Yes they didn't tour for a year but they were working on trench that entire time. As soon as that album cycle ended (and it was cut short by the pandemic, it would've gone on at least 6 months longer than it did thru festival appearances) they made SAI. Then clancy. And now we are getting an entire album + another leg of a tour less than 18 months after clancy came out (and the tour leg for breach has never been explicitly advertised as a separate thing from the clancy tour. They usually do two US legs per tour cycle, I think this is just the 2nd clancy leg presented a little differently).

In that time josh has gotten married and tyler has had 3 children. This sounds like it will be the first time since they started their careers in their early 20s that they'll be taking a genuine extended break. We have been absolutely swimming in content the last 16 years. None of that is going away.

I've mentioned this in posts I've deleted shortly after because I thought they came across mean - and also complained a lot in private lol - but I do not like how entitled to content the clique has become. Demanding a single, demaning appearances from the guys (and then bitching when tyler actually posts because "urrrm he must be lying el oh el"), bitching about the livestream, bitching about the fact they aren't going on another year long tour immediately after they finished one, bitching about the listening sessions. Bitching at other fans and getting defensive when people tell them how it comes across to constantly talk like this about a band they supposedly love more than anything else in the world. It's gotten to the point I don't know what a lot of you think you want from this band. And I don't think it's respectful.

I understand being very emotionally attached to this music. Trust me. I also think we need to understand that artists are not machines who exist to give us treats exactly how and when we want them. The boys have given us enough. They are giving us MORE than enough with a two album era. They deserve a fucking break. Respectfully - maybe try to be a little happy for them.
