am i watching a trailer with the wrong translate, or is deniz asking selin whether he is the father of her child??? i’m sorry, these two were tryinna separate eda and serkan and bumping uglies on the side?

that episode delivered!!! the way serkan didn’t even hesitate to go out and search the moment he heard that eda was missing. the jealous moments, it was so good. also, maybe i’m just being too optimistic, but i don’t think deniz is truly on selin’s side? also, i love the fact that the one week ultimatum is hanging over eda’s head, because i could either see serkan coming to some sort of realization within the time frame, or, it’s the moment eda stops trying truly, that he finds himself pulling away from selin and chasing after eda in some hopes to keep her close (kind of drawing back to the older episodes where she was going to leave for italy and serkan freaked out to engin to keep her around some how). i think it was important for eda to try so hard and  as ayfer’s countdown comes close to a deadline stop trying, because with serkan having lost his memory, but having gotten a taste of what eda and her company is like, he’ll have something to miss, he’ll have a clearer picture of what he’s missing. i just love seeing selin be big mad. also, idk if it was just lost in the translation with subtitles, but why does ceren believe she’s entitled to deniz in some sort of way? like i get that she has feelings (that she at no point disclosed to eda), but girl if someone tells you they are not interested, it’s time to pick that pride up and move on. it’s just so weird to me that she feels like she has some sort of entitlement to him reciprocating her feelings, or that eda is the one and only roadblock in her way. also, isn’t she rich??? someone fix her hair!!

i need there to be consequences for selin’s actions, because manipulating serkan, in terms of the year he doesn’t remember, when he was vulnerable was so wrong. like that trailer has her planting a kiss on deniz and like, i don’t care if they go the way of them possible having a thing (which might, or might not happen, i wish i knew where to find out how many episodes bige was signed on for), if anything, i think it could make for something good to see on the side. with both deniz and selin being in situation where the people they loved/wanted couldn’t reciprocate in the way they wanted. but for the love of god, consequences. like i really wanted to see the aftermath or something with balca, because she was so obsessed with serkan, it just didn’t make sense to me how easily she backed off. like, selin didn’t get that redemption arc return i was hoping for, so at least give me some retribution!!!

do you feel the serkan amnesia being overly stretched? the episode felt so random....

Not really, if I’m being honest? I’m fairly new to Turkish shows, so please take anything I say with a grain of salt because I am positive I know nothing about how these are run and there are people with a much stronger understanding of the structure of these shows in the tags. 

That being said, I don’t think it’s being prolonged. Serkan went through a traumatic incident, as a result, he’s suffering short term memory loss. I’m not a doctor, but I feel like it’s one of those things that you can’t just put a time limit on and I feel like the show has done a really good job of giving Serkan the three months to heal and recover physically, but now has to come face to face with existing around people that know a chunk of memories that are his but he has no access to. Imagine how frustrating that must be for the control freak Robot Bolat that existed before Eda, pair that with his pull and interest in her, it’s probably enough to leave him mentally in a battle of trying to remember, but trying to stay true to the controlling personality he remembers. 

The way I see it, there is that part of him reaching for that lost year of memories, but also the part of him that went through something life-changing and is trying to cling to what he knows. Which, from the looks of it, won’t be lasting very long, especially if that new trailer is anything to go off of. I’m also just a sucker for angst before happiness, which is partially also why I’m super enjoying it. Also, I really just love seeing Selin dig herself this giant grave and really want to see what she does when shit hits the fan. 

As for the episode, I don’t think it was random, but it definitely felt like a filler episode. Even then, I didn’t hate it? I felt like a lot of groundwork for what could happen in the next episode(s) was laid out? Like Deniz was already in thin ice, with pushing for Eda to get over Serkan like two days into him being back with amnesia, then with the subtle hints of his crush on her, but we finally got a good standing on his motives in this episode. He likes Eda and wants to be with her, so he teams up with Selin. Ceren’s difficult home life was alluded to (if I’m remembering correctly) in the earlier episodes, so now we’re seeing her spiraling. Also, maybe where I’m watching doesn’t have the best subtitles, or maybe I’m just reading into it too much, but someone (maybe Serkan? or legit someone in the tags idr) mentioned something about it feeling like Deniz was running away from something in terms of being away from home. Idek what anyone's ages on the show are, but if Ceren started taking her meds around the age of 20, maybe there is a connection there??? Also, they are taking the time to give them scenes where Eda and Serkan can have those moments together, to possibly push for him to have these build up to something finally clicking.
