Really good Twitter thread originally about Elon Musk and Twitter, but also applies to Netflix and a lot of other corporations.

Superman desperately scanning the street during a fight to find the most morally acceptable car to throw at his opponent, knowing that not everybody has insurance, and loss of transportation can ruin a life -
A wave of incredible relief washes over him as he spots the hard geometric lines and silver paintless sheen of a Cybertruck.

incredibly dumb and minor thing in the scope of what the new Superman movie covers, but I saw the movie in northeast Ohio where I鈥檝e lived all my life and before the movie they played a message from James Gunn thanking Cleveland for letting them film there (they put so much focus on buildings I鈥檝e spent my entire life around I was geeking and I can鈥檛 believe I got to see them filming) and he thanked us for being the home of Superman. Anyway it made me cry before the movie had even started so ig this movie is living in my heart forever damn

behind the scenes Superman photos I snagged hopefully legal

ordinarily someone claiming "kindness is the real punk rock" would be cause for my immediate disdain but part of the reason it works in "Superman" is that the line is directly adjacent to Lois pointing out that all of the "Punk Rock" Clark listens to is actually Pop Punk

extremely impressed by what james gunn has done here. in a sea of cynical media about corporate superheroes and toxic masculinity, he took the most positive, legacy, OG superhero, the epitome of goodness to the point of being accused of being a mary sue, and he said, okay. what if all those problems were real, but despite them, superman chose... to stop a genocide? and loved and cared about every being on earth? what if there was a REAL benevolent superhero??? and that shit hit!

FIRST OFFICIAL POSTER FOR SUPERGIRL

Couple things I'm noticing right off the back. Her costume is slightly different than the one she wore in her Superman cameo. I'm pretty happy with it because my one critique of that costume is I wanted a bigger belt, more like her Woman of Tomorrow art, and that's exactly what they changed here. The skirt also appears to be a different material and slightly longer, but it's hard to tell from here since she's wearing her trench coat.
I love the attitude of this poster. I love how apathetic and reckless she's seen to be, it sets up her character arc really well.
Also, a thought I just had while typing this, can we talk about how Kara leaves Krypto with her cousin when she goes on these benders? Initially I thought it was because she couldn't take care of a dog at the same time, but maybe it's because she realizes the kind of trouble she's getting into and the fact that these bars have red sons. He would lose his powers the same way she does and she doesn't want to risk him getting hurt. That's so sweet. She's not so worried about her own safety, but she doesn't want to put Krypto in harms way.

dang i just loved superman. so wonderful to see this swell of art and stories where kindness and hope and joy are shown to be as cool as they are in real life. i understand this has traditionally been part of the character but its nice to come back to that. feels like irony poisoning melting away
