it's possible to interpret dysmorphia as how samarie sees herself and so she's supposed to be grotesque but my personal interpretation is that since she and samarie are quite literally polar opposites, dysmorphia is everything samarie wants to be. samarie is gaunt and frail, with a sickly pale complexion, likely due to extended periods of torture and malnourishment. she's perpetually miserable and anxious, acutely aware of her forcefully shortened life. in battle, she creeps away from the player and has a closed-off posture. in contrast, dysmorphia is full-figured with strong arms and a round stomach. her face, although peeled back into a halo, is a vibrant red and fixed in a permant smile. her battle sprite approaches the player with her arms outstretched. dysmorphia is radiant, beautiful and in absolute control of her domain whilst samarie is a caterpillar, only a vessel and so lacks autonomy; following marina to prehevil is probably one of the first things she actively chose to do.
