Porn sites mistagging bigenitalia as "intersex" are legitimately responsible for so fucking much of the misinformation about intersex people. The word intersex gets used for stereotype porn more often than for actual intersex people. Its to the point that in some circles, intersex is literally just seen as a kink, a porn genre, a fetish trope. There are people who genuinely do not know that intersex people are a real fucking thing and believe the word intersex to have originated from porn.

It drives me actually insane because it would be such a simple fucking problem to fix. Just retag all bigenital content as bigenital. And release a disclaimer that intersex is not the correct term. That's it.

But they don't fucking care.
