I know "It gets better" is a shitty platitude we're all tired of hearing, but, like....it does.

Listen, girls, I came out in my mid-20s and didn't get to start medically transitioning until a year ago, and yeah, the years leading up to and immediately following my coming out were Hell and I almost didn't make it. But Listen: I did make it.

Now I'm almost 30, and I lost a lot of friends and family along the way, but I found better ones, and my life is full of wonderful people who love me and call me by my right name. At work every day I wear girl clothes and everybody knows me as Natalie the eccentric lab lady. I'm known & respected in my field and in my community and I'm pursuing my dreams. My life hasn't played out exactly how I may have hoped, but I made it; as the Professor said, "It might have been different, but it couldn't have been better."

And Like, I as a person am a complete jackass who does not deserve a single one of the good things I've wound up with.

If a dipshit like me can make it, then I promise that there's hope for you.
