I would have to say my writing notebook [is my most prized possession].  I didn’t like [writing] in first grade, but after a while I started liking it more. I don’t like essays, though.

The most important thing in life is to live it. Don’t just wake up every day and go through the same thing, try to spruce it up a little bit.  Before you can believe in a higher power you have to believe in yourself.

Mine was seventh grade because before that, I was not very social, and so when I got more social in seventh grade, I started getting more ‘out there’ and then I was able to make more friends and make other people smile, I guess. So, that’s pretty much it.

I kinda like school. It’s just preparing us for life, and who doesn’t want to be prepared before they’ll be like, ‘Oh, my God! What just happened?

Life is great, life is very difficult. I struggle a lot with life. I wished I walked my dog more, because he’s dying now and I feel like he never got a chance to look at the outside world.

I’m trying to get a better part in shows because I’ve been doing ensemble for eight years of my life and I think I have the qualifications for it.

The worst thing I ever got in trouble for was, actually, getting mad at my brother and getting my sandal and literally throwing it at his face. Basically he was annoying me and he ended up scratching my hand because when we fight it’s not exactly a good one, so I just took off my sandal and just threw it at him. I didn’t expect it to hit his face, but it happened anyway.

The most difficult thing at this moment is trying to figure out life after high school. You're forced 12 to 13 years to go to school where you're almost fully sheltered for the 'real' world and taught to do what you're good at and pursue that but what you're good at is not always financially stable. Should sacrifice my desire and live a comfortable life I hate or follow an uncertain path.

My uncle had set up this big movie screen outside their barn and we watched Lord of the Rings and then we laid around hammocks. We made s'mores over the campfire and then ended up sleeping in the back of our truck because there were lots of mosquitoes.

My parents were married for 23 almost 24 years, and when I was 10 they told us about the divorce. I didn’t understand why at first, but I soon started to find out it was because my dad cheated on my mom eight years out of the 23 years they were married. It just threw us all off, me and my siblings. After that, and after I started doing all the thinking about it in my head, how his girlfriend’s daughter is four or five years older than me. I started doing the math and thought it was my fault because two years after I was born my dad started cheating. There’s still a part of me that thinks it most definitely is my fault that my dad cheated, but I’ve tried not to think about it too much. It’s always in the back of my mind, but it’s not something I’m constantly talking about with people. I don’t think I’ve ever told either of my parents, I don’t think I’ve told my siblings either.

[My family] believe that today is the financial apocalypse, which is because the Shmita, which is a Jewish thing where whenever the Jews are good, God was like, “Oh, you’re good, so here’s money,” but if they’re bad he takes away money every seven years. So they believe it’s happening today, which, ironically, lands on September 11 - 9/11. They’ve done a lot. They’re thinking about buying a pellet gun, and they’re going to make me pack an emergency suitcase in case I have to go on the run. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, though.

Yeah, when I was dropped out of school and not sure if I was ever going to go back. Mixture of home and school life was too stressful, I was only able to realistically go on average of 2 days a week, which made keeping up with school too tough. I remember in 5th grade, the teachers had a discussion about my absences, because I had over 100. It only got worse from there.

I don't have any [regrets] because then I wouldn't have the opportunity to learn from my mistakes.
