Summer 2019 Diplomas
Please be advised that Summer 2019 diplomas are now available for pickup in the Panther Station (S225) during their regular office hours. Communication with this information will be going out to the Summer 2019 graduates shortly.
Diplomas from 2016-2019 are now available in the Panther Station. The older diplomas are in the file cabinets of the main/back area of the Station by where the paper forms are kept. These drawers have been labeled “Older Diplomas”, and the sign out books for all available years are located in the bottom right hand drawer of the front desk for the Panther Station.
 Other updates:
·         The graduation application period for Fall 2019 has closed, we are no longer accepting late applications at this time.
·         The Spring 2020 graduation application has opened in CUNYFirst. Students should not apply for Spring 2020 graduation until after they have enrolled into their final courses.
If someone has missed the Fall 2019 deadline, we advise that they apply for Spring 2020 graduation in CUNYFirst. If they are not enrolled in any Spring 2020 courses, they will be automatically considered for Winter 2020 graduation. Winter 2020 graduates will be awarded their degrees in February 2020, which is one month after the Fall 2019 degrees are awarded in January 2020. This is the best option for students who may have missed the Fall 2019 graduation application deadline, and should allow them to transfer to senior colleges for Spring 2020 without issue.

Grading FAQs - NC and WA
Below is information regarding NC and WA grades:
NC Grade
This grade can be requested by freshman students (students with less than 30 credits including transfer credits) for up to 2 courses.  Students are suggested to opt-in if they believe they are not going to pass the course. A grade of NC does not negatively affect a student’s GPA at BMCC. Students who receive a grade of C– or lower will automatically have the grade updated to NC.  Students who receive a grade of C or higher will receive the letter grade earned.
1. How does a student get an NC grade?
· Students must opt-in on the BMCC Portal (Student Forms > Office of the Registrar > NC Grade Form)  by the withdrawal deadline Tuesday, November 5th
· Students must continue attending the course and take the final exam (A student who receives a final grade of WU is not eligible for a NC grade)
 WA Grades
This grade is administratively added after the 30th day of the semester if students have not submitted their required immunization documents.
1. How is a WA grade removed?
· The student must visit the Health Services Office N380 and resolve any immunization issues. Once they are resolved Health Services contacts the Registrar to remove the WA grades. It takes about 24-48 business hours for the WA grades to be updated once health services tells them they are cleared.

Testing Update
Please be advised that as of Fall 2020 incoming students will no longer be taking the CAT  (CUNY Assessment Test) to demonstrate proficiency. CUNY has implemented a process that will combine the HS GPA, SAT, and Regents, to determine proficiency.
Students who meet the criterion will be considered proficient. Those who do not will be required to participate in developmental support programs before enrolling. There are still a lot of details being cleared,  so as we get updates, so will you.
