i. Breaking the Body ☠; solo
     It happened so quickly. The flash of light, the pungent smell, that lightning strike. A portal opened that was unlike anything she had seen before, not like she’s seen many mysterious  portals before. Her hands reached out to grab anything. As if Tzuyu stood a chance. Frankly, she didn’t care about those sucked in around her. Scratching the walls on her way down caused her fingers to bleed. Why her? Why her? Why her? This wasn’t fair. She didn’t want to be in this magical world anymore. Yet, there the large chess board was. Many faces unfamiliar to Tzuyu were there too. All were uneasy. All were horrified. All knew what the tragedies laid before them meant.
     A cruel game had already begun. The board began to shake and the opposing chess pieces began to move. Brown eyes caught a glimpse of her first tragedy moving ever so slowly closer. Her own siblings appeared to be dangling above the mouth of some gargantuan beast. This was such an obvious move to make by those who wanted to harm her, even Tzuyu knew that, but of course she was still afraid. It hadn’t quite registered that these scenes being played were simply mirages. Only the booming of some mysterious voice echoed within her soul.
“ T R Y  A N D  S A V E  T H E M ”
       This was fine. She could handle it. Yeah, yeah, she could handle it. Reaching into her jacket she grabbed...nothing. No weapon was in her jacket pocket like usual. Well, whatever, maybe it just fell out. Instead she reached into her boots to grab... nothing again. Now Tzuyu began to panick. The children were screaming while she fished around in her clothes for something she could use.
“Aren’t you going to save us!”
“Come and help us, sister!”
   Bile rose from the pits of her stomach and hands trembled as the situation suddenly felt so real. For so long, she had rejected magic entirely. For so long, she stopped training and practicing magic. For so long, magic remained as something that betrayed her trust and the embodiment of her morality.
   That didn’t matter now, because the scenario she feared was happening. There was no way she could actually defeat this monster. She was weak. But, really, that just didn’t matter anymore. Magic had to be used no matter how weak it was. A split second of hesitation. Her grip was firm and the bright orange beads flew high into the void. The golden sword in her hand was such an unfamiliar sensation.
   The first point of attack was the monster’s hands. It seemed to be an obvious choice, since its claws were holding those in need to be saved. In a faithful leap, she drew back her sword, eyes locked on her target. However, the monster was quick and easily prepared for this attack. It dropped the children to the ground and smacked Tzuyu away like a fly. Her right hand shattered under the weight of her own body. The pain never got a chance to register. The two children were squirming around on the square and Tzuyu crawled quickly to comfort them. The monster roared, but that didn’t matter. Her right hand was numb, but that didn’t matter. She couldn’t wield her sword properly anymore, but that didn’t matter. They were with her and they were safe.
“ Y O U  P A S S E D ”
   Their voices erupted in unison like robots. Children’s bodies dissolved into a star like dust. The monster behind her went silent. It still didn’t register that this was fake.
“But... come back... I didn’t save you yet...” Her throat felt raw because for the first time in years, she was crying. She finally used magic like she always feared. In The Noose’s perception, she conquered her fear. But Tzuyu felt she let her siblings die because her magic was too weak. With a broken right hand, she was now even weaker than before. Yet, the game continues.

I know I owe starters to lots of you;; but i’m going to try and get these event solos out of the way before anything! If you’d like to plot something for the event in the meantime, just shoot me a message~!! I’ll probably be horrendously slow when replying so pls bear with me ; w ;

Reflection// Miinah🌌
@ccxmiinah
     Observation was key, they told her. Listen to your senses. What do they tell you? Don’t be silly, you haven’t lost anything. It’s difficult to tell cards apart from humans. Trust us, you’ll find them eventually. Their presence is strong here. Now go, do your job. Bring in some new recruits. No excuses, you want others to see our point of view, yes? Prove it.
   Now Tzuyu is stuck standing in the middle of some stupid park right in the center of Seoul. She was given a job a few hours ago involving all of the things she hates: public speaking, people, card hunting, people, did she mention people? You could say it was “draft” season where most members of The Order of the Lotus had to at least recruit one magical hero or one stray card. They have to get their members from somewhere, perhaps. In past years, Tzuyu had been able to avoid this task, usually handing it off to one of her acquaintances within the Order. She was incredibly socially awkward and though a loyal member, couldn’t recruit to save her life. Being a sales lady really wasn’t her calling. But due to an upcoming Chobotics expo, most of the senior members who usually did the dirty work were busy “preparing” for who-knows-what. Meaning, Tzuyu couldn’t just hand her work off to some other unfortunate soul.
     So, there the young teenager was; standing, praying for some kind of magical incident to take place so blatantly that even she could tell it’s a sign. Her eyes closed as she began to concentrate. Just use the magic given to you for once in your life, Tzuyu.  A shoulder quickly jolted her from concentration. She crashed to the ground with a thud. Exactly, what the hell was that? Before she could turn around to scream at whoever just pushed her down, a roar arose from the ground. Just a few feet in front of her stood a hoard of people, all collectively shouting out someone’s name. They appeared to be encircling someone, she guessed it was whomever they were shouting at. Perhaps this could be the sign Tzuyu was waiting for?
    She picked herself up, dusted off her clothes, and headed straight into the crowd. Would she regret this? probably. Was she still going to do it? probably. Sure enough, there was a woman in the center of this mess. Tzuyu guessed this person was probably frazzled, though she couldn’t really tell amongst all the shoving and flashes of cameras.
“Come with me, I think I can get you out of here.” She held out her hand and feigned a welcoming smile.

You’re Lost, huh?///Leo 🐾
@ccxleo
      Night fell upon the citizens of Seoul. But, do not let that fool you. The city was still very much alive. All of it’s hidden atrocities came to play when the sun went down. Nightlife here was vibrant and mysterious. Those who have lived it couldn’t even say with any degree of certainty what happens. The night was exciting, unpredictable even. There were those whom lived in fear of the faces that emerged from the darkness, there were those whom embraced them, and there were those who were the darkened faces.
     Tzuyu had just become a magical girl at this point. All these abilities, still very new and uncorrupted. What still remained the same, however, was her love of the darkened streets. She was one of those whom embraced and thrived in the uncertainty of the night. No magic, she swore, could possibly change that. Being a bright, young, fifteen year old wandering alone in a big city did have it’s drawbacks. Not that she would ever bother to acknowledge them. She had magical powers now, what could possibly get in her way? Her head was held high and she walked down the streets with a skip in her step.
     Though, a sudden uneasy feeling began to form deep within her stomach. Because magic was so new to her, she wasn’t the best at identifying magical creatures from normal humans. But this feeling certainly meant there was powerful magic nearby. Tzuyu was certain of it. Ah, but there was nothing to fear, of course! For she was now a magical hero, here to save the world from all those that threatened the existence of man.
   Youthful eyes fell upon a relatively attractive young man who seemed to be distraught. Tzuyu noticed his eyes wandering about, seemingly lost. Despite the obvious warning signs of talking to a much older stranger at night and the uneasy magic circling in the air, Tzuyu still wanted to help. Because of course, she had magic too!If she was going to be the hero, she might as well play the part. Besides, this stranger would be lucky. No one knew the streets of Seoul like she did.
“ Excuse me, um, sir? You seem lost. Need help getting somewhere? There’s plenty of hotels around here, or maybe you need directions to an airport?” She spoke with confidence, though perhaps her expression didn’t exactly show any sort of enthusiasm.

    Tzuyu really loved the cafes in the city. In fact, they were probably one of the only things she actually liked about the big city. Cafes were never loud but always filled with just enough chatter so she could melt right into the background. The taste of slightly-less-cheap coffee also was a pleasurable experience not often felt by the young teen. As a result, whenever she saves enough money to go out, she stops by a cafe.
   The cafe of choice would be the one just outside her large apartment building. It was easily accessible and Tzuyu swears they make the best coffee in all of Seoul. Even if she doesn’t have the money to pay for anything, it still is a lovely place to relax. So, basically, she stops there just about everyday. Including today. It was unusually packed for such a small establishment. Tzuyu was thankful she didn’t have to wait in that horrendously long line, since she wasn’t actually buying anything today. Instead, she darted towards an open two-person table in a corner of the cafe, right next to the exit. It wasn’t the best seating in the house, since people always seem to slam the door too loud, but it was better than nothing.
“Hi!”
     Tzuyu’s head shot up. Her eyes met with a blonde girl, likely only a few years older than herself. This girl happened to be a regular at this cafe as well. At least, she always seemed to be there at the same Tzuyu was. She remembers them chatting a few times every now and then. The girl seemed nice, which Tzuyu couldn’t say about most of the people she interacted with. She might even say she actually liked interacting with this girl.
  “Hey.” She said with a relatively blank stare, raising one arm to wave at her. To some, her blank stares make her look disinterested. However, that’s not exactly the case. Let’s just say, she not the most socially inept teenager in the world. But, hey, she’s trying.
     “It’s crowded today. Must be the hot weather, I guess,” Tzuyu paused for a moment, staring at the seat in front of her for a few seconds before something clicked, “Oh- uh, you can sit down if you want.”
Food and Chatter | Tzuyu and Sueun
As usual Sueun walked to the coffee shop of her choice. It was past morning, as usual and she needed her daily coffee. It wasn’t so much that she actually needed the caffeine, but rather the ritual of getting coffee everyday, that made her go.
As the weather got warmer and summer had just begun, she’d chosen a nice, airy outfit and put her hair up in a high ponytail. With her bag on her shoulder, the blonde opened the door and was greeted by unbearable air. A slight frown appeared for a second and she got in line. How could coffee shops always be so full, even though there were so many? After growing a bit exhausted, the girl tried finding an empty table. Since it was so packed, though, there was none left.
Sighing, as she decided to give up and go back outside, she started walking towards the door. Just then she saw a familiar figure on an otherwise empty table and walked up to her. “Hi!” she greeted the girl with her usual smile.

    This morning was truly a special one. Tzuyu somehow woke up on time for class. Granted, It was because she couldn’t sleep at all the night before. Every time she closes her eyes, some kind of nightmare plays out. Perhaps her conscience was trying to tell her something. What a nuisance. However, she now couldn’t  use the “well, I woke up too late, so now I can’t go to school” excuse that she has run with more than once. Insead, she pulls on her school uniform and storms downstairs. It’s a little early to be leaving, but what the hell. Not even her siblings are awake yet. Whatever, she just decides to bolt out the door.
     The brisk morning was actually quite refreshing. Which, Tzuyu finds rather startling. Perhaps waking up on time wasn’t all that bad. Not that she would ever bother to do this again within the next lifetime. The sky was a light orange, such a soothing sight for the young student. She imagined birds chirping high above her. A strong breeze blew through her hair. This was unusually pleasant. Though, the more she walked, it became more apparent just how exhausted she felt. Feet began to drag, eyesight began to blur, shoulders began to slump. Relying on willpower alone just wouldn’t cut it.
     She dug around in her book bag to see if she had some cash on her. If anyone needed some coffee right now, it was her. It’s not like she was going to run back home just to make some coffee. Besides, school was going to start soon so something quick would be preferable. Double checking her bag, it would seem she accumulated just enough for a cheap cup of coffee in the form of coins. Perfect. The next cafe Tzuyu sees, she’ll walk into.
     The wait wasn’t too long. A quaint little cafe ended up catching her eye. It seemed to be relatively popular. From what could be seen on the outside, the cafe was full of people chatting, munching on food, and sipping their cups. Each person appeared to have a bright smile on their faces, like they were having the time of their lives. Ugh, revolting. How could you be that happy by drinking coffee?
     She marched right up to the counter. The barista appeared to be sleeping, which Tzuyu could understand to a certain degree. However, Tzuyu needed coffee and she needed it now. She tapped the bell lightly to wake her up.
“Get me whatever I can pay for with this.” She said rather casually, plopping multiple coins onto the narrow counter. “I’d prefer it to be caffeinated.”

The sun was shining particularly brightly on that June morning. Or maybe it was just Electra’s throbbing head that made her feel that way. She wished, very fervently, that she had been allowed to wear sunglasses inside the shop, but her manage had thought it made her look rather rude, as if she didn’t want to talk to the customers. Well, she didn’t, but she wasn’t going to say that. In fact, she was so severely hung over that she wished she had called in sick. But she knew Monday mornings were particularly busy, since everyone from students to workers seemed to need an extra pick me up after the weekend.
Some were like Electra, and had made the bad decision of drinking heavily the night before and were paying for it. Others just needed the energy to get through the first morning of what would undoubtedly be a long work week. And still there were some who came either because they liked coffee, or because it was part of their routine now. It really mattered very little in the end. Electra still had to make drinks for all of them, but thankfully she wasn’t on register that day.
The seven to nine rush came and went in a flurry of loud voices and grumpy people who thought they were being too slow, as if they couldn’t see what a mad house the place was. Electra had even almost become snappy with a few, but managed to bit her tongue and keep a bright, false smile.
When the rush had finally passed, Electra let out an audible sigh of relief. She leaned back against the counter behind her and closed her eyes. A moment of must needed rest washed over her as her coworkers scurried into the back to restock and such. The nearly silent atmosphere was punctuated only by the rustling of paper as customers enjoying their beverages in house shuffled through their belongings.
The bell tinkled and Electra’s eyes flew open and her smile pulled at her lips again, though she was quite agitated beneath her façade.
“How may I help you today, sweetie?”

You Again? // Wendy 🔥
@ccxwendy
     The afternoon sun beat down on the citizens of Seoul. Drips of sweat pooled on Tzuyu’s forehead. She had skipped school around lunchtime today, feeling as though the heat was taking away her concentration. That was only partly true, of course, but that’s what she’d tell her mom when the inevitable “why weren’t you in school today?” question popped up for the billionth time. Her eyes wandered about the tops of the buildings that  began engulfing her. She felt so small again. So insignificant.
     With brown eyes glued to the floor she graciously walked into her favorite convenience store. The dull bell chimed as she entered. The manager waved and Tzuyu returned his greeting with a gentle smile. She had been going to this place for what, like, five years? The manager certainly knew the young girl by name. What attracted Tzuyu the most was the excellent use of an AC. No joke, it was always kept at a cool temperature no matter what time of year. She really appreciated it. Tzuyu glanced over at the cheap snack isle, groaning that a bag of chips cost 1700 won. She just wanted to eat. The door chimed again. This time, an unmistakable blonde came rushing in.
     Their eyes locked together. God damnit, she didn’t even get a chance to hide. Immediately she knew it was her former teammate, Wendy. Memories already began to wash over her like a flash flood.  Tzuyu was a freshman when Wendy was a senior in highschool. They had one thing in common, they were both magical girls. Wendy was always kind enough to aid Tzuyu in her studies, especially Korean. They had all grown so close over those few months they were together. No, don’t think about it. Like all things, that had to come to an end. If she wasn’t going to be a magical girl anymore, she couldn’t associate with her old teammates anymore. Not ever again. It’s not like her old teammates would understand or accept her anymore anyway. She was part of an organization all of them once fought. Wendy wouldn’t like her anymore.
    But she so foolishly believed that this day would never come. They all lived in Seoul, but she foolishly believed that this city was big enough. It had only been a few years, but she foolishly believed that they will forget her. Tzuyu spent so much time with her, but she foolishly assumed Wendy wouldn’t recognize her. She was a fool. They would want nothing to do with her, Wendy included. Now she was standing face-to-face with her. An unmistakable connection had been made, and now she just stared at the blonde in silence. Brown eyes met the floor once more. A peculiar feeling of sorrow rose in her gut. Now, her memories started to drown her. A chill trickled down her spine.
“Hello, Wendy...” She said quietly, not entirely sure what reaction she should expect.

Power & Control // Naeun ♕
@ccnaeun
   There it was, the super-special-ultra-amazing-Chobotics Expo that had everyone talking. Frankly, Tzuyu wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. This place was far too hot and there was a revolting amount of screaming children. Granted, it would probably be less uncomfortable if she wasn’t wearing all black in such weather. Yet, even she could tell there was a sense of electricity in the air. A lighting storm of strong emotions. It felt disgustingly unnatural. So, of course, Lotus sent her there with practically everyone else within the organization to locate the source of this magic. For what, Tzuyu sure as hell wouldn’t know. Her only instructions were to “locate the magic and harness it using any means necessary.” She wasn’t exactly thrilled with the proposition, but couldn’t exactly complain about a company field trip either. The expo being held outside of Seoul meant she could get away from the city for at least a little while. One fact, however, worried Tzuyu. Whatever or whomever was the source of this magic must be incredibly powerful. Meaning, people who found the source were likely to die. Comrades who don’t deserve death could very likely be the ones to lose their lives. It left a bitter taste in her mouth.
     She pulled up to the large convention center in her mother’s old beat-up car. All she said before hand was that her school was going on a field trip and she needed a ride. Thankfully, her mother believed that. That old tin can of a car was embarrassing to drive around in, but it was the only option she had. Not to mention the head of Lotus had instructed each member to show up at different times to not cause suspicion of their activities, so she couldn’t even carpool. Sitting alone in a parking spot, Tzuyu came to realize that she had only seen the founder at meetings a few times. It always seemed that the council members were the ones to interact directly with members. Then again, maybe that was because she always showed up late to Lotus meetings. It wasn’t her fault there was always traffic in Seoul.
     There was a small woman that Tzuyu could tell was the founder. She appeared to be sitting down, not that she could see that clearly. That woman’s magic must be powerful. Frankly, it made her heart beat quicken. Nervousness hit her like a truck. Oh my god, she was going to meet probably one of the most powerful people in the magical community; certainly one of the most powerful people in Lotus. No, no, no, don’t act like some giddy fan. That would just be embarrassing. She had an important task to complete and couldn’t afford to be some child screw-up. Focus, Tzuyu, focus
    With sunglasses on her face, she walked up to the woman, and picked up a pamphlet for the expo at a nearby kiosk. Damn, it was even hotter outside her car. Tzuyu stood next to Naeun and pretended to study the slip of paper to not raise suspicion. How sneaky. “Tzuyu here, reporting for investigation.” She spoke quietly, still reasonably nervous. She awaited patiently for further instructions from the founder about how to deal with such a task.
