Our boi Pete did a fantastic job tonight

It’s been a difficult time for him and his community in South Bend. I’m incredibly proud of how he faced the question with humility, brutal honesty, and remorse. He didn’t hide from it, nor did he cast blame upon anyone else. Just like how he went back to South Bend to face the anguish of the community that blamed him, tonight he faced the country and owned his failure.

Pete had so many great moments on the stage tonight, but this one defines him. It was raw and it was human. It’s rare sign of accountability that is much needed in our political leadership.

My hats off to ya, Pete. There were many shining stars on the debate stage these past two nights. But I am so incredibly proud of his accomplishment.

Dear President Putin,

I was deeply upset when I read your recent interview in the Financial Times. I strongly disagree with your view that pursuing policies that embrace multicultural and sexual diversity are obsolete in our societies. I find duplicity in your comment that you want LGBT people to “be happy” and that “we have no problem in that”. Yet Russian distributors chose to heavily censor my film “Rocketman” by removing all references to my finding true happiness through my 25 year relationship with David and the raising of my two beautiful sons. This feels like hypocrisy to me.

I am proud to live in a part of the world where our governments have evolved to recognise the universal human right to love whoever we want. And I’m truly grateful for the advancement in government policies that have allowed and legally supported my marriage to David. This has brought us both tremendous comfort and happiness.

Some «quality» press insistis in publishing biased information without checking any resonable sources as keep occuring with the Mayorga case. There is a request for 22 additional pages made by Cristiano's attorney in Las Vegas last friday in order to present the Defendant's argument in a fort-six-page Motion to Dismiss. They need these additonal pages «to comprehensively address each of the reasons for dismissal». Who spoke about that?

I miss President Hinckley. He was a true modern prophet.

“I don’t know much about what happens in the Mormon Church. I’m not Mormon. But there was a prophet that was around a few years ago. His name was President Hinckley, and he once said something during conference. I don’t watch conference, but I saw this fleeting moment where he said such lovely things about Islam and Muslims. And he said we of all people should understand why we shouldn’t be persecuting these Muslims and calling them terrorists or referring to them negatively. And I just think, ‘Gosh, if he can say that from the pulpit, the rest of us can see us as not threatening and not terrorists and treat us with kindness.'”

This exemplifies that kindness begets kindness. Be how you would like things to be and that contributes to change happening.

For people of a certain age, Donny & Marie Osmond were superstars–had a weekly TV show, hit songs, magazine covers, basically celebrities with perfect smiles…and they were Mormon.  

I knew Marie was an ally when she spoke out against the Prop 8 initiative in California. At some point I also learned she has a lesbian daughter who she speaks proudly of. 

Was happy how Marie posted about a beautiful and important moment in her life, the marriage of her daughter.

Her fan base is mostly older & therefore conservative, not all of them happy at seeing such queer positivity posted as normal and wonderful. Most responses were what you would hope, full of congratulations and love. I was glad to see that haters who posted negative reactions were flooded with replies calling them out. Here’s a tip, when someone shares a happy moment from their life–if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
