BREAK UP

The day i got my heart broken. Terrible. Sadning. I thought I lost everything. I was in the seventh grade… Anyway, i thought i was in love. It is a kind of embarrassing story but why not leave the school year on some personal stories. So there was the girl, her name was Emely. I met her at my middle school and she was technically my first girlfriend. All my friends were hyping me up and constantly telling me to ask her out for the longest and the day I did, I felt like a man, real talk. I was like “damn, i really have a girlfriend.” We would eat lunch together and she would sit with my friends. You find out if your partner is real if they are cool with your homies. That is really the only way. We would spend PE in the yoga room together, and just sit on fat carpet rolls in the corner. I thought I was going to marry the chick. Crazy. We were “together” for like a year and we talked a little after we broke up. The day we broke up though, it was like someone took a knife and stabbed me in the heart. LOL. If you read this and laugh, I don’t care, this is truthfully what happened. She went over her friends house one day after school and I took the bus home. thi s was a friday afternoon and that’s when teenagers are at their wildest. She texted me telling me she was at her friends house and she would text me later. I’m not big on the friend thing so I did not have a lot. I just chilled in my room watching Tv waiting for a text back. When I got a text back from her, I got a text from her best friend that was with her that night. Emely texted me saying “hey christian” and her friend texted me saying “Emely just cheated on you with M**t.” Bruh. I was like what the hell. I was devastated. My heart felt like it fell out my body. I texted Emely back asking her how was the night she said something like “good.” WHAT? GOOD? So not only did she not tell me what she did, but she said good. Meaning she had fun, I was like bruh what is good with you. That was so unacceptable. When she told me she did not do it I told her I believed her and a month later I found out it was true. By then, I kind of already knew that she did it and so i broke up with her without hesitation and I was kind of savage with it to be honest. I told her never talk to me again, and that I never wanted to see her. She sent me this long ass paragraph and I did not respond for like two weeks. She constantly blew up my phone for those two weeks and I was like bruh stop texting me. I finally texted her back and told her she took my heart, ripped it, and broke it and she kept saying sorry. It was too late though, She really made me a savage. I thought I did not know how to have feelings anymore. But I think I do lol. It was a feeling that as a middle schooler in deep love, you do not want to have. I later thanked her friend, and told her if she didn’t tell me. I would be getting played by this little girl. I was so sick, I had to get her back. While I was with her still, I talked to her best friend! But her best friend was definitely not her best friend if she was doing that to her lol. But anyway, this is the story of when i first got my heart broken and hopefully it never happens again.

SPRING

SPRING BREAK IS OVER. How I knew spring break was over? When my mom told me I should start doing my homework. I always procrastinate and wait until the very last moments to do my homework. So far it has not been bad to procrastinate but I know when I get to college, I won’t be able to do it as much because the assignment load is so much more heavier and I do not want to get behind. This years spring break came early. Usually I have much more things to do but this spring break I was pretty lazy. I didn't really want to do anything but chill and eat and sleep. And that’s exactly what I did. I would have a workout everyday, then just come home watch some television and probably fall asleep. It wasn't bad at all. My mom seems to think that I waisted my spring break but I don’t. I am a bit reenergized for the the remainder of the year. We don’t have t hat long left as we start off the fourth quarter so hopefully it jus goes by quick and I can keep my grades up. Apparently the fourth quarter is the hardest in some of my classes including history and math. I have to write like a five page essay and then we have to learn about some unknown math things that I have never ever heard in my whole life. When we started off break that first night I found myself sitting on my couch. I was on facetime with a friend D.C. Mine and he was telling me he was not doing anything either. So we linked. And went to grab a bite to eat. That was the only time all break I chilled with someone other than my family. Most people would be like oh your spring break sucked but no. My spring break was better than ever. Last year I went to Turks and Caicos for spring break but other than that, this would be the spring break behind. I love traveling and all but school had me so shut down that I was just tired of everyone and everything. Everyone eventually needs a break and mine happened at th right time. When you are around the same people for a year you just need to get away sometimes. So much homework, and so much class work, you just need a break. I was not getting home until like 9 at night and then I would eat, go to sleep, and repeat the same process over agin all week. I find myself doing a lot in a day for a kid who is in 10th grade. When we go back to school I hope im ready. I know a lot is going to hit me right off the bat but I just hope that I can be ready for it. Once if finish this history paper that is due in not too long I will feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Nine more weeks left in the school year, or something around that and it just needs to go by quick. Usually the fourth quarter seems long to me because it’s the lat bit left. But hopefully this year, it can go by quick and we can be done and all have a great summer. #SUMMER17 #YUHDTWAY

It needs more help and it needs to be something that is thought about on a daily basis until we bring our girls back. It is sad and inhumane to kidnap especially for reasons such as sex trafficking. Sweet Sixteeeeeen

SWEET SIXTEEN MARCH MADNESS #SWEETSIXTEEN #MORETIME Sweet Sixteen. More time with family and friends. MORE LIFE. This passed weekend two of the sweet sixteen games were held at Madison Square Garden in NYC. As basketball junkies, the family hops in the car and heads down to New York to watch these two games. Surprisingly all my teams that I I had in the final four all lost. So my bracket is jus t disgusting and I should just throw it away at this point. But anyway, march madness this year has had many upsets and there is only one 1 seed team remaining in the whole bracket. The teams that are remaining are teams that my whole family did not have in their brackets. Its been a year of really good basketball and it sucks to see it coming to an end soon. I watch college basketball all the time. But anyway, back to New York. So we leave Maryland at around 1 in the afternoon and hit a lot of traffic. We take two cars because my dad has to stay down there for some business and so the next day me and my mom can come back down and he still has a car to maneuver around the city. I drove up to New York. Worst idea ever. The drivers just don't care about anything and they are so savage. I almost got hit like 10 times and It was just bad. So we arrive at MSG and we are looking for our seats. We have to go up a couple flights of stairs to find them. I have never been there before so it was. A different atmosphere. The first game was between Baylor and South Carolina. That game was a blowout. South Carolina led by 20 almost the whole game. The way they were playing was unbelievable. They were hitting every shot and it was just crazy. Baylor couldn't string together stops and they did not look good at all. After that game. They're was a twenty minute difference until the next game started. The two last teams of the night we’re warming up getting ready to play. These two teams were Wisconsin and Florida. Everyone knew this was going to be a good game. Florida and Wisconsin were two really good teams and they have never played each other before. The game had many ups and downs and throughout the whole game Wisconsin was leading. When it got to the last two minutes of the game Wisconsin made a comeback from being down 12 at one point. They cut the lead to six and later tied it with about 30 seconds left in the game. Florida running out of time shoots up a three and goes up three with about 14 seconds left in the game. Wisconsin rushes down the court and with two seconds left in regulation they shoot a three and it goes in. The game goes into overtime. I was so luck to witness that because that was a great shot. Onto overtime. The game was tied majority the whole overtime. With under 20 seconds to go in overtime, Wisconsins big man gets fouled and makes both free throws to go up two with five seconds left. Florida calls a timeout and sets up a play. They inbound the ball and their point guard dribbles the length of the court to be able to get a three of to win the game. The clock expires, and the shot goes up. It’s good. Florida wins the game off a buzzer beater to advance to the Elite *. What a game. I was really fortunate to be able to go to a march madness game. It was a hell of a game. #MORELIFE #SWEEEEEEEEEET

More Life More Life. More time with family and friends. More Life. I’ve still got vibrations to send. More Life. They say that we could live forever. At night I pray it’s true. Ive done so ,ugh in my short time and there’s still more to do. But if someone should come collections sooner than we’re all expecting, at least the life you lived was one for you. –Drake More Life. Drakes newest album. This album brought tears to my eyes. Drake is the best artist alive when it comes to making music to get you in a sad mood or make you realize why your relationship was not working. He raps about love and peace and gives this reggae vibe in his newest music. As of a fan of reggae, this album has been on repeat for the last week. The album dropped on March 18, first thing in the morning. I immediately downloaded in on the music app on iPhone. The album has unbelievable features. With twent two songs on the album, it is enough to last you a hour and some change of great music. Drake as an artist won his first grammy form the album Take Care a couple years back. That album was an album that was about nothing but heartbreak, relationships, and finding your other half. His music is definitely not a pregame song, but more of a if you just broke up with your girl and you need to let your emotions out that night kind of music. So many artists differ in so many different ways and Drake is able to fulfill the role of what so many people go through on a daily basis. His music is catchy too. When this album was first announced, it was when Drake released a song with another rapper by the name of 21 Savage. The song is called “Sneakin.” When this song dropped on apple music the cover art was a picture of Drakes dad writing on a notebook and in the top right corner was written “More Life” in big blue letters. At this moment everyone knew Drake was up to something. Later that week Drake performed a concert in London with other artists Travis Scott, and Quavo. At this concert is where Drake announced that More Life the album was on the way and he has been in the studio. The last album that Drake dropped was “Views” and that was in late December. That album was great too. All of Drakes music lately has been great. Awesome. I love when he drops new albums but I hate it because then I don’t know how long it will be before he drops new music again. Usually it isn’t too long because he knows the fans love his music, but a couple of weeks is too long to me and I want music right away! His music is the type of music you vibe to your girl with, you know? It is crazy to think that he started off his career on a tv show in a wheelchair. No one knew he could sing and everyone knew him as an actor. When he released his first song by the name of “Best I Ever Had,” he had the hip hop game on its toes and had the people waiting for new music. Later that month he released the album “So Far Gone,” which just blew up within days. I feel like I know the dude. He raps about things I relate too so we’re pretty much bros. I’v been to two of his concerts, both at the Verizon center in Washington, D.C. The first one was just himself with openings from Meek Mill, and Jermaine Cole who are both two great rappers as well. The second was was not too long ago, when he was on his latest tour with future, and that concert was so lit. I think that was the best concert I have ever been too. I want to go to another atmosphere to see one of his concerts though. Like London. I feel as if whenever heh goes out of the country and performs he brings like three of four other rappers with him and they just put on a show. I have yet to have an experience like that so it would be great to see that. Plus I hear London is fun so I wouldn’t mind visiting. Drake definitely came in the clutch with this one. MORE LIFE. Sleepy Thompson. Wow. This experience is like no other. My first time playing in it was last year as a freshman. I didn’t know what to expect and when I came out of the locker room to warm up and saw the crowd, my heart dropped to my stomach. I got a little bit nervous and the butterflies sunk in. As the year went on we did pretty well losing in the championship against Episcopal 56-55. After that game, people on the team transferred, seniors graduated, and freshman became sophomores. I, now a sophomore, was looking forward to this season. After that Episcopal game last year I was heartbroken and devastated. This summer my team and I spent countless hours in the gym. None of us ever wanted to feel that way again, and we wanted a banner in our gymnasium. With Sleepy T being our first game of the season, we had to come out with authority. When the game risked around we won by 20 to a team we had lost to in the previous years. From that point forward we were all on the same page. We've lost a couple games so far this season but they have all came down to the wire and we fought like crazy. Ever game is a championship game to use and that's the mindset we have to have in order to come out victorious in the IAC conference for basketball. This passed week we played Episcopal again at their place and that game was super exciting. The game went into triple overtime and we ended up winning by 4. We fought like no other and that night I realized how fortunate I was to call my teammates my brothers. As we move forward now we have that one goal that we think about everyday. We know that everyone in our conference wants that same thing which makes the games even more competitive. But that's the fun of it. We practice everyday because won't have time to waste. Everything. Has. To be perfect. We always have to be on our P’s and Q’s. We watch film everyday on the game we had the night before. Its truly a blessing to be able to play this game so we try our best not to take it for granite. When we see Episcopal again we know they'll come out with more fury then they did last time. With only 6 games remaining in the regular season, we still look to make a statement. We've come so close as a family and we see the potential in one another. We fight like brothers. As a sophomore, two more years of Sleepy T and Saints basketball is something to look forward to. We each look up to players that we want to resemble one day. Its not guaranteed we will make it I to where we want to be one day but we work hard. Hard work doesn’t always give you success but its worth finding out.

I remember waking up in my old home on Dickens Road in Bethesda Maryland. It was eight years ago, when Obama had won the presidency for the first time. I did not know much about it but I knew to be happy since my family was in so much excitement. Growing up, I never really had to deal with much racism. Every now and then there would be that one ignorant kid to say something stupid but It never really bothered me. As time passed and I went through elementary school, and finishing up middle school it really started to hit me. My president was black. And no, having a black president is not the main reason of my happiness but a educated black person with degrees from Harvard and Columbia University. This proves so much because for years we have been mistreated just because the color of our skin and now our president is black? It is crazy to think about. The common white man in the 1800’s and early 1900’s did not believe that blacks were educated, and they believed they were useless. That's where having a black president comes in. There is not a better way of proving someone wrong. Just recently I started to paying more attention to politics when the election came around and Trump was winning the big states in America. I remember going to sleep knowing that Trump was going to win. I just knew, like something was telling me but I did not want to believe it. I prayed it wouldn't happen, but it did. On the way to school the next morning my mom wouldn't really talk, and I already knew why so I didn’t bother to ask. We talked fro very short times during the ride but we both didn't want to talk about it. I visited youtube to view some of the Trump videos and things that he has said during his speeches. He’s made some pretty vulgar statements, and I personally believe he is a racist. The people in attendance of his rallies and his speeches seemed to be that way too. Not everybody, but some of the crowd. Their was this one video of a older white man spitting in a black mans face who was peacefully protesting, and Trump began to laugh, and began to say something along the lines of, “Back in the day, he would of gotten it a lot worse.” When I saw that I was in shock. How can you even say something like that. Especially as a presidential candidate. I did not want this as my president in fear of my family and my friends. Now that he is President I worry sometimes. Sometimes I’ll catch myself overthinking the topic, and my stomach begins to tie up into a knot. Seeing Obama leave the. White house was one of the hardest things I had to watch. Seeing the way he carried himself with class and dignity when greeting Trump was amazing. The way Trump talked down on Obama and even questioned his birth place, I would not be able to be that classy too a man who stoops so low. That man in the White House as I write this blog is not my President. His wife is not my First Lady. That women's march the day after the Inauguration was beautiful. It was amazing to watch. Even though I was not a part of it, I support it to the fullest and Trump has only brought the people together by being a racist, and a sexist. He does not realize what he is up for and I just pray that the nation stays woke. I don’t hope bad on Trump, and I wish him the best as my future lays in his hands. I pray he doesn’t follow through with some of the ideas he had, as they can be very scary to be laid down and put into order. I’m so grateful to be a part of history witnessing the first black president. He accomplished so much before our eyes and I know many people don’t believe he was a good president but I believe he was an extraordinary President and I wouldn’t rather. Have anyone else as my President. If I could have President Obama as my President for the rest of my life, trust me I would. Unfortunately that cannot happen, and hopefully this nation can keep moving forward regardless of the President in the White House. Thank you Obama for 8 outstanding years. #ObamaYOUDAGOAT #THANKYOU
