Competitors from different leagues or teams face off in the same games that are popular like: DotA 2, CSGO, PUBG, Crossfire and Apex Legends. These gamers are watched and followed by millions of fans all over the world, who attend live events or tune in on TV or online.

Up until very recently, the eSports scene in the Philippines was made up almost completely of amateurs, as professional eSports teams saw little to no investments or support for their development. The popularity and emergence of online streaming services have helped the growth of eSports in this period, and are the most common method of watching tournaments. The training that the players must undergo to prepare for tournaments is different but still takes a tremendous amount of time. Esports athletes' training is much more based on training the mind, such as studying strategies and new updates for the game.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 4, 2019.

It is a game that you can kill anybody except to your two teammates. Apex Legends is like a team sport and a very strategic game that you should think fast and know your legend’s abilities to survive the game.

The legends are the characters in the game that you need to choose from a line-up of outlaws, soldiers, misfits, and misanthropes, each with their own set of skills. The Apex Games welcome all comers – survive long enough, and they call you a Legend.

COUNTER-STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE (CS-GO) by: Rey Askin

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) expands upon the team-based first person shooter gameplay the original Counter-Strike pioneered when it launched in 1999. Two teams compete in multiple rounds of objective-based game modes with the goal of winning enough rounds to win the match.

CS:GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic Counter-Strike maps like Dust, Inferno, Nuke, Train, and more. In addition, CS:GO introduces new game modes like Arms Race, Flying Scouts man and Wingman, and features online matchmaking and Competitive Skill Groups.

Cebu is one of the countries that was really influence mostly teens in playing CS: GO, which enhance their cooperative and strategic skills and also making it us their profession which they can earn by playing on tournaments or steaming which is the most common thing that professional players do, so that they can earn while they are playing.

TNC Pro Team – CSGO

TNC’s CSGO team has had a meteoric rise this year. Coming from obscurity, their performance in past events gave them the spotlight, even rising in power rankings all over the world. Appearing seemingly out of nowhere, CSGO team is finally ready to compete outside the country. They qualified for the eXTREMESLAND ZOWIE Asia 2018, wherein they will be playing over this weekend in Shanghai, China.

They also qualified to the Kaohsiung World Championships by the IeSF. They’ll be flying into Taiwan this coming November to test their skills against the best teams around the world. Competition will be tight, as they will have to go on top of 23 other teams in the upcoming tournament.

ARKANGEL CSGO FEMALE PRO TEAM WON WESG SEA GRAND FINALS 2018

ArkAngel CSGO Female team was able to win the qualifiers in a dominating fashion to book their tickets to this prestigious event. Led by their captain and IGL Kyung-in “Tr1cks” Lee as their AWPer, she will shoot their way to the top along with her fraggers Shara “Kuchiii” Koshikawa as the entry fragger and Joy Maria “Joy” delos Reyes as the secondary fragger. While Patricia “coffeeee” Lagua will play as Lurker to sneak in and shoot them on their blindsides while Jiles Korine “Laire” Buenviaje will play as support for the team. Earlier, they battled the representatives of Vietnam, Felis Catus in a best of 1 series as their opening match and won 16-14 in Cache.

How to play Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds

The object of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is to be the last person standing within a group of as many as 100 players, using any means necessary Roughly five minutes into the match, a blue wall will appear in the form of a giant energy field. A safe area also appears on your map as a big white circle. This is your cue to head toward the projected safe area before the blue circle actually reaches you.

If at any point the blue circle ensnares you, you’ll constantly take a small amount of damage over time. At full health, you can survive for several minutes inside of the blue zone, but don’t linger because health is a finite resource. Sometimes you can go an entire round without finding a healing item, so save your health for an enemy confrontation, not the blue wall.

Note that not only the blue wall your running from but also the red zone you have to avoid the red zone Bombs drop in the zone at random positions. It is a one hit kill if a player is directly hit - though being hit is still somewhat unlikely. You are safe inside buildings if you are not near windows or doors. Also can take cover under arches or other small structures like at Ruins on Erangel

Battlegrounds (PUBG) is still in its infancy, played by hundreds of thousands, despite its early-access status. Surprisingly, PUBG overtook the viewership numbers of video game giants, including League of Legends and Overwatch. Where is PUBG heading with these incredible numbers Ever since October 2016, not one single game had made their viewership higher than League of Legends on Twitch, and we are talking about a 34-month streak which the chart of Twitch viewership, dominated by League of Legends . Battlegrounds’ success is unprecedented. Over this past weekend, the game cracked one million concurrent players on Steam, ousting the perennial kingpin Dota 2. In August, Battlegrounds started to routinely claim the top spot on Twitch.

Dota 2 is a free to play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game. Valve Corporation developed and published this game. The game is a sequel to Defense of the Ancients (DotA), which was a community-created mod for Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion pack, The Frozen Throne.

Dota 2 is played in matches between two teams of five players, with each team occupying and defending their own separate base on the map. Each of the ten players independently controls a powerful character, known as a "hero", During a match, players collect experience points and items for their heroes to successfully defeat the opposing team's heroes in player versus player combat. A team wins by being the first to destroy the other team's "Ancient", a large structure located within their base. Development of Dota 2 began in 2009 when IceFrog, lead designer of the original Defense of the Ancients mod, was hired by Valve to create a modernized remake for them in the Source game engine. It was officially released for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux-based personal computers via the digital distribution platform Steam in July 2013, following a Windows-only open beta phase that began two years prior. Dota 2 has a large esports scene, with teams from across the world playing in various professional leagues and tournaments. Valve manages an event format known as the Dota Pro Circuit, which are a series of tournaments held every year that award qualification points for getting a direct invitation to The International, the premier tournament of the game with a prize pool usually totaling over US$20 million. Media coverage of most Dota 2 tournaments is done by a selection of on-site staff who provide commentary and analysis for the ongoing matches, similar to traditional sporting events. In addition to playing matches to a live audience in arenas and stadiums, broadcasts of them are also streamed live over the internet, and sometimes simulcast on television networks, with peak viewership numbers in the millions.

In 2016 Philippine Dota 2 team TNC Predator shock the dota 2 community for winning against the big tier teams in the event The International 2016. Most awaited events for dota 2 community is the TI (The International) as professional teams around the world gather and compete to win the Aegis and of course the reward and the title. TNC Predator kick out the most favorite team or the most favored to win the TI6 and somehow they gave the comment “The biggest upset” and “The miracle” in dota 2 2016 and eliminated OG in the tournament and after that TNC face the DC and lose and eliminated from the tournament and placing 7th-8th and winning $519,262 (₱25,963,100).

And cebuanos are not late on trend the esports in the Philippines consist of variety of age groups from young to adult. Mostly are amateurs. And there is quite of professional players are rising in our very own land. Most known professional Cebuano player is Ninjaboogie. A support captain in Mineski team. Ninjaboogie started competing in tournaments when he was 12 years old. Inspired kids and adult gamers in Cebuano to strive hard and conquer your dreams. This quote boosted the pride of Cebuanos when ninjaboogie said “My heart is a Filipino, but I have an international mind. No matter what, my home will always be Cebu.”

Team Admiral a Philippine professional Dota 2 team and all are Cebuanos. Team Admiral is heading to Singapore for competing to PVP ESPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP. Team Admiral was considered the most strong team in SEA server but still considered as underdog and was favored to win the tournament, but end up at 3rd-4th place and bags home $20,000(₱1,000,000).

CROSSFIRE is one of the most played online FPS games worldwide, with over 8 million concurrent users and 650 million registered players. Currently it is available in 80 countries including China, Vietnam, North & South America, and Europe. Also, CROSSFIRE holds the title of most popular online game in multiple regions and was recently featured in Forbes Magazine as the “Top Earning Free-to-Play Game” in 2013.

CROSSFIRE has proven to the world that it is the no longer just a game but a global phenomenon.

CROSSFIRE is an authentic military-themed FPS where two rival factions, Global Risk and Black List, with opposing world view engage in armed conflict around the world. Global Risk is an international private military organization that strives to fight for their own justice by helping the weak and refusing jobs that go against their beliefs. Black List is a terrorist organization that’s willing to terrorize anything in sight. Only thing that matters to them is money. If the money’s right then nothing is impossible for them. Players assume the role of either a Black List or Global Risk mercenary, joining an online team that must work together to complete objective-based scenarios.

CrossFire features weapons based on real life models, with each weapon belonging to a category. Categories include machine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, etc. Each category is functionally similar to their real world counterparts. Weapons often have many variations, including different skins which give them different attributes. In addition, the re-skinned versions are often more rare. There are also some weapons which are different from other weapons like the VIP weapons, which has more powerful functions like faster reload, among others.

PacificMacta was already a heavy favorite coming into the competition. They have been the Philippine CFS Champions twice in a row before in 2014 and 2015, both times reaching as far as 3rd place in the global championships. Last year they were also worthy of an invite to the first-ever CrossFire Stars Invitational: Manila where they proved their worth against representative teams from Brazil, China, and Vietnam.

PacificMacta was also in China in August earlier this year for the CrossFire Global Invitational 2017, finishing at a solid 3rd-4th place. Suffice it to say that Pacific.Macta is an international-level team, easily even among the top 5 CrossFire teams in the world.

The Pride of the Philippines, PacificMacta has never changed their roster since they represent Philippines for the first time in Crossfire Stars 2014. They grabbed 3rd place in CFS 2014 and CFS 2015 Grand Finals. Until now (2017), Pacific Macta don't just focus with aiming in-game but they also aim to be the best CROSSFIRE team in the whole world.
