FREESTYLE AND STYLE GRAPHIC

For my three different kinds of images and gifs, I created two main styles, Freestyle and style graphic, mostly because I love to create 2-D digital drawings and would like to continue creating more 2-D animation so I can bring my own drawings to life. My pick of style mostly came from two inspirational artists, Levi Magony and Kevin Ramirez. Their animations are cartoons like yet full of details and life with rich colors, textures and narrative. Compared to their work I am hoping to broaden my skills beyond just 2D drawing skills importing them into a live storytelling art piece. Furthermore, their artistic touch is styled in a way that flows within the story.

Based on the reading, David Oreilly conveys as to how important it’s to pay attention to details. As artists we should pay attention to these details because it can feel as if something is out of place or unprofessional. He also explains what he did that helped him win the Golden Bear award for the best short animation creating a believable, engaging animated world built from their coherence making them more than just a character from a story but one with personality, characteristics and behavior detailed from dialogues, movements and quality. In his process of making this animated film he created a few rules to keep in mind. Such as understanding and creating an animation through coherence, using simple geometry to create a believable world.
