Have you ever noticed the difference between the way other characters view the Doctor between Classic Who and Modern Who?
Modern Who: They're a lonely god. A mysterious entity. No one can ever hope to understand them. But they are kind and wonderful and magnificent.
Classic Who: Who the fuck is this guy and why is he yelling at me.

The Doctor: Time Lords always know each other, Iād recognise the Master on sight, anywhere. The Master, wearing a flashing sign which says āIām the Masterā whilst beating out the rhythm of his insanity on a drum as a marching band heās hired wave red flags and sing a song heās composed, entitled āThe Guy On The Drums Is The Masterā: Hi. The Doctor: Wow, a new human being who Iāve never met before! Iāve got a good feeling about you, because you seem like a trustworthy person who definitely wonāt betray me!

Feeling so incredibly validated that my head canon of the past Doctors still ālivingā in the current Doctorās subconscious, being catty bitches who bicker 24/7 and are probably backseat driving, has been canonized @atalanta133

"In a time of slavery and deep suffering, the slaves who broke their chains and escaped would return to try to free others. Slaves were not allowed to carry paper. They were always stopped and searched. But the women were very clever. They could make their hair into many shapes and patterns. And in one style, hair could be braided to the scalp, bending and curling like roads or paths. So the women would weave maps into their hair and pass it on - mothers to daughters, slave to slave, plantation to plantation.

So we know Rogue has an ex who he lost somehow. Said ex doesn't have a defined gender (the use of "they" could mean they're non binary, could mean that Rogue didn't want to specify their gender for whatever reason) but we know Rogue likes men thanks to the Doctor.
Rogue is extremely similar to one Captain Jack Harkness. Jack has dated a loooot of people in the past and had a lot of flings, including people very similar to himself, e.g., John Hart, original Captain Jack (apparently his past self in an audio drama??). Jack also lives a pretty chaotic life and often disappears without explanation. Conclusion? Rogue's ex is Captain Jack Harkness.
