The Blue Spirit's Smile
Tumblr media
~A glamour spell for when you need to either put on a face to present as someone/ something you are not, or to show who you truly are ~
What You Need
A mirror and sink
Blue Candle- truth and creativity
White Candle- secrets, protection
Dragon’s Blood incense (protection. any protection incense works)
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Mouthwash and Floss
Lipgloss, chapstick or lipstick
Most importantly, your smile
What To Do
Prepare yourself and your work space as necessary. Cleanse and ground, meditate, cast a circle etc.
Do this spell somewhere in your daily prep routine or during the time you’re getting ready to go wherever you need to present whichever version of yourself.
Safely arrange the candles and incense near your sink and mirror.
Light them and focus on your reflection in the mirror. Visualize your face as it is, but also as you want it to be seen, either as yourself or as you want to appear. Depending on where your spell falls in your routine, breathe in the incense (just as a normal breath, don’t inhale too deeply), and smile in the mirror. Focus on that smile (btw you’re beautiful and I hope you see it!) and tell yourself that.
Build and call on the powers you’re using to work the spell as you brush your teeth, floss and use the mouthwash. The thing we’re enchanting here specifically is our smile. Smile in the mirror again and as you do feel the energy you’ve put into cleaning your mouth, your smile. It is clean, renewed, respected.
As you’re smiling say ā€œSmile of mine, smile so bright, Blessed by fire’s warmth and light, Hide/ Show the truth within, When others look upon my grin, My spirit aches to be free, Release/ Hide the truth of me.ā€ Use hide/ show and hide/ release depending on what you’re doing, hiding or showing your face.
Apply the lipgloss, chapstick or lipstick to seal in the power of the spell on your smile. As you go through the day/ event you’re going to, remember that the power is in your smile.
Allow the candles and incense to burn out or blow them out. It is done.
Tumblr media
Remove the glamour again when you next wash your face. To continue the glamour again through the day or event, whenever you reapply the lipstick, lipgloss or chapstick, say the chant again and remember that feeling when you first brushed your teeth. This can also be done with any sort of facial wash, or makeup.
Good Luck and Happy Casting Witches!

hello! I’m searching for resources about technomancy, does anyone practice or have any books, manifestos, blogs, coding spells, githubs, etc? ^^
To clarify, I’m a programmer, so I know code perse, I’m not searching to learn js to make a spell, I’m more about the why that could work and what it means! I’m interested in the ramifications and the theory behind code, electricity, modern communication, and how it relates to the magik. I’m interested in the theory of how to incorporate it not as in learning programming, but the spiritual charging of technology and how we interact with it. How technology is, in most cases, our daily words in daily forms of connecting to others and information. How electromechanical pieces of our tech are made from a charged quartz at a specific frequency. How it’s being co-opted by capitalism to sell us stuff and how studied math is applied to our feeds for reprogramming our heads. How cyberspaces are made for becoming commodification of ourselves and our sorrow, how impactful is our tw feed to our mood when it’s programmed to make u sad or angry so you stay there. How this is all electricity and WE are all electricity. How magical is it that we can create something that says ā€œHello World!ā€ with a few words. Are bites alive in a way? Is the soul electricity? Isn’t there some residual energy in the thing you have in your hand or pocket all day and look for at least an hour (or a lot more) a day? How it’s impossible to generate something truly random, how we can make a USB with an entire world inside, how we can have a cooperative way of creating communities and sharing information aside from corpos. Where do technology and science intercept the esoteric, and how could it be threatened away from our hands? Is that thing you saw on the internet today a sign from the divine or just an algorithm that wants to lure you in on a product? Are algorithmic responses magical too when we made them ourselves and find meaning outside the capitalistic forces that make them in our habitual forums? Do you think is the same to delete a txt file and to burn a piece of paper? Why would infecting a computer with a virus a modern curse? Of course, I love some programming too tho! You can always hit me up with those batch files to read an enchantment, that Linux distro made as an altar, that nodejs API for tarot readings, that auto-generated images that could mean stuff if you interpret them, etc. But right now, I’m trying to find more information about it in a more abstract and thoric way, mostly because I see a real lack of analysis in these important (and some of them alarming) issues! Soo, I’m asking if someone has information about these kinds of things; or at least a little bit of discussion with spirituality and paganism in mind :3

Video Games and Magic
Last year I had the privilege of taking a class on Intentional Video games from one of my favourite witches, Kieu of TheHalfAssWitchLLC. They are currently changing from offering classes and spiritual services to helping other spiritualists expand their businesses. I highly recommend grabbing any of their class replays if you can!
Since there is no replay of the Intentional Video Game class (and I've had a few people ask) I am sharing my notes and expanding on some of the points with personal experiences. I am damn near convinced Hylia REALLY wanted me to take this class so in, In Her Honour, let's get started.
Obviously, Kieu said all this stuff first and better, so make sure to follow them and give them your support!
As above, so below. As plugged in, so unplugged. Games of any type all have their own universes. This is true from the simplest Ping Pong to Elder Scrolls. No matter the type of game, it can be used in magic! After all, what are our computers but glass and crystals?
When you start a game, you are the one controlling what happens in the universe based on your progression. In a way, you become the Universe's God. Games like Sims(a lot is Sims examples) and Minecraft REALLY put the power in your hand and I highly recommend them for magic work. So what can you do magically with your game? There are two types of magic you can do. Active and Passive.
Active magic is doing things, such as:
Protection: Add sigils to games you can mod for walls and armor, Use colour magick for an added boost, build up defenses on your army/fort,
Banishment: Deleting files associated with other people, making a sim or representation of someone you want out of your life and moving them far away(or removing the ladder in the pool :)), or with shooting games use your intention so that each kill you make is getting that person/feeling out of your life. Kieu suggests zombies are good for getting rid of old energy/retrogrades, and war games against n@zi's are good for racial work. Fighting games like Tekken and Smash Bros are also good for all-around GTFO spells.
Manifestation: creating your dream self, working towards same goals IRL as in game (such as earning money, making friends, being successful), past life work through Period Themed games, visiting temples in games, using colour magick (dressing character or house decor), using symbols from game in real life as a devotional/motivator
Example: Kieu had a perfect example of this. They always wanted to open a restaurant so they had their Simself open a restaurant. Well, turns out, Sim Kieu got too overworked and became miserable, so probably not the best idea irl!
I really like their idea of making a Sim self. It seems silly, but they talked about how it helps with see themselves from another perspective, explore their emotions and relationships, and helps with self care!
For me, I like to Magically Intend games where I'm earning money/gems (like bejeweled. omg. i love bejeweled.) to help bring more opportunities for me.
Direct Connection: going to a specific location for a sign, looking at Scores for special numbers, or just straight up making an avatar for your deity or spirit for interaction!
Passive magic is letting things happen such as:
Divination: waiting for messages to come to you during your games
Connection: Great way to explore yourself! Games are the perfect way to explore gender/sexuality, etc. Connect with your inner child over games you played as a kid!
Tips!
Light a candle while playing your game. It will help with an energy boost for the spirit as well as visual communication.
Give offerings! This can be a candle, incense, food, water, or a quick meditation beforehand.
Ask for help with specific tasks! Kieu recommends that deities associated with Mercury ( or any technology and communication) work well!
Put sigils on your tech! Make a sigil so that every time you play the game you are connecting with your spirit/ancestor/deity. Charge your phone AND your protection sigils!
Don't forget your animals! Make familiars for yourself in games, or game versions of your familiars!
So what does this look like IRL? Does anything happen outside of the game?
Kieu had an interesting story about this. They created an alien sim named Bibi for fun. Over the next few weeks, they kept seeing the name Bibi everywhere (someone sent them a picture of a Santa Statue that had the name Bibi on the list). It might seem small, but it is a pretty uncommon name. Did a spirit name Bibi take notice? Did they manifest Bibi? Who knows!
Personally, as a follower of Hylia (and the Greater Nintendo Family) it is easy for me to just hop on to a Zelda game to interact with them. One time, when my husband was playing BOTW, I got a whim to tell him to leave an apple at the Temple of Time at Hylia's statue. SURE ENOUGH. HE DROPS THE APPLE. AND A SQUIRREL FLINGS ITSELF AT OUR WINDOW. I think she liked it! I also make Sims for almost all of the spirits I work with. It helps me conceptualize them, bond, and it's fun! Feeling disconnected with your guide? Drop them into your Sims house!
I know this was kind of an infodump, so if you have any questions, feel free to message! I would love to hear how y'all use magic in your games!

Amaterasu (天照)
ā€œShines from Heaven,ā€ with 天 meaning ā€œheavenā€ (or Imperial) andĀ ē…§Ā meaning ā€œshines.ā€ Amaterasu is shorthand forĀ Amaterasu-ōmikami, which can be represented in Kanji asĀ å¤©ē…§å¤§ē„ž,Ā å¤©ē…§å¤§å¾”ē„ž, andĀ å¤©ē…§ēš‡å¤§ē„ž. This longer version means ā€œthe great and gloriousĀ kamiĀ who illuminates from Heaven.ā€ The most prominent of her titles is Ōhirume-no-muchi-no-kamiĀ (å¤§ę—„åč²“ē„ž), meaning ā€œthe great sun of theĀ kami.ā€
Tumblr media
Amaterasu is the Japanese sun goddess, daughter of creator deities Izanagi and Izanami, and central to the Shinto religion. It is from her the Japanese nobility claims descent and their divine right to rule. An embodiment of the rising sun and Japan itself, she is the queen of theĀ kamiĀ and ruler of the universe.Ā The Goddess is the Queen of Heaven, theĀ kami, and creation itself. Though she did not create the universe, she is the goddess of creation, a role she inherited from her father, Izanagi, who now defends the world from the land of the dead.
Amaterasu is one of the threeĀ kamiĀ born fromĀ Izanagi’s purification following his attempt to free his wife from the land of the dead. The three deities were born as he washed himself: Amaterasu from his left eye, her brother-husbandĀ TsukuyomiĀ from his right eye, and storm godĀ SusanooĀ from his nose. Though these are her primary siblings, Amaterasu has many other brother and sisters born of Izanagi and Izanami’s marriage rituals.
From the mists of time emerged two deities, Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto, the divine male and female gods of creation. Seeking to fill the misty void, they devised the marriage ritual and engaged in sex, but had to repeat the ritual due to a mistake on Izanami’s part. This second, successful attempt yielded a multitude ofĀ kami, spiritual beings representing the natural world and the islands of Japan.Ā The last of these beings fire, which killed Izanami.
Wrought with grief, Izanagi journeyed to Yomi, or ā€œthe shadowy land of the dead.ā€ Searching far and wide, he eventually found his wife and was shocked to find her rotting flesh full ofĀ oniĀ and other demons. Seeing his rejection of her, Izanami flew into a rage and attempted to chase him past the gates of death; however, he managed to block the gates with a boulder. Izanami swore that if he left her there, she would kill one thousand people every day. He replied that, each day, he would create five hundred more lives than she could destroy, thereby ensuring the survival of earth’s population.
Disgusted by the taint of death that lay upon him, Izanagi found a pool of pure water nearby and bathed himself in it. As he washed his left eye, Amaterasu emerged, fully-grown and glowing with the light of the sun. He washed his right eye next, and from it emerged the shining Tsukuyomi, the moon who reflected his sister’s light. As he cleaned his nose, a storm emerged and took the shape of Susanoo, the storm god and ruler of the seas. These three Izanagi tasked with ruling the heavens, with Amaterasu as their leader.

Jewish animism & the notion of "soul"
Tumblr media
"Two souls exist in the earth being, Wind Spirit and Breath Spirit. Wind Spirit [Rua'h] journeys from one end of the universe to the other while a person dreams. Breath Spirit [Neshamah] dwells deep within the chambers of chambers." Midrash Olam Katan, No. 4, from Gershon Winkler, Magic of the Ordinary.
Jewish tradition uses different names for the soul. The ones that are mostly used in the Tanakh are neshamah (breath), nefesh (living being) and rua'h (wind). Kabbalah adds two more terms: 'hayyah (life) and yekhidah (singularity), but I won't be talking about these two in this post because I don't personally use them in my practice for now.
Many non-monotheistic systems of belief incorporate soul dualism, or the doctrine of multiple souls. Wikipedia tells us: "In many cases, one of the souls is associated with body functions ("body soul") and the other one can leave the body ("free soul" or "wandering soul"). Sometimes the plethora of soul types can be even more complex. Sometimes, a shaman's "free soul" may be held to be able to undertake a spirit journey." My animistic perspective on Judaism is no different: I do believe in a pluralistic conception of the soul.
The Torah says "For the nefesh of the flesh is in the blood." (Leviticus 17:11). Nefesh, thus, is associated with the blood of a living thing, and dies with it. Neshamah is the part that is reincarnated in the Gilgul Neshamoth, the Wheel/Cycle of the souls. Neshamah is given directly by HaShem, and is responsible of the nefesh, as it is written: "He blew into his nostrils the breath of life [nishmath 'hayyim] and man became a living being [nefesh 'hayyah]." (Genesis 2:7). That leaves us with the rua'h, the wind. I equate this with the "free soul" of soul dualism, the one that can travel outside the body, as the opening quote of this post illustrates : "Wind Spirit [rua'h] journeys from one end of the universe to the other while a person dreams." I believe the rua'h also travels when the body is in certain trance states. Some people may thus be able to journey through the universe. HaShem is also said to have Their own rua'h, the rua'h Elohim (Spirit of G-d), the rua'h HaShem (Spirit of the Name), or the rua'h haQodhesh (Holy Spirit), sometimes equated with the Shekhinah. These notions are not to be confused with the Christian Holy Ghost, one of the three persons of the Trinity, a concept which can't exist in Judaism.
I believe every thing created by HaShem has a neshamah. In the Tehilim, the Book of Psalms, inanimate things are said to praise HaShem:
"Praise Him, all His angels, praise Him, all His hosts. Praise Him, sun and moon, praise Him, all bright stars. Praise Him, highest heavens, and you waters that are above the heavens. [...] Praise HaShem, O you who are on earth, all sea monsters and ocean depths, fire and hail, snow and smoke, storm wind that executes His command, all mountains and hills, all fruit trees and cedars, all wild and tamed beasts, creeping things and winged birds" Psalms 148:1-4;7-10
"Let all that breathes [neshamah] praise Yah." Psalms 150:6
Everything is alive, and everything is constantly praising its Creator. This is the core belief of Jewish animism.
