We are not okay. We are not safe. We are living in unimaginable conditions — and tomorrow is Eid al-Adha, a holiday that should bring joy, new clothes, laughter, and celebration to children. But how can my children celebrate when there is no food, no water, no medicine? How can they smile in new clothes when their weak bodies can barely stand?

We are in Gaza — trapped, starving, broken. Every day is a battle for survival.

I am making this post on behalf of a trans woman named Magala (@lovelyimuhshin) currently living in Gorom refugee camp, South Sudan.

She has been organizing aid for a group of transgender and other queer refugees who have been under constant threat of violence on top of the dangers inherent to life as a refugee. Some members of the group also suffer from health conditions such as HIV and cancer.

Your solidarity should not only extend to the western queer community. I’m putting together a playlist of Assassins but it’s my preferred versions of each song from all three cast recordings and I just realized all three cast recordings got a different ballad.

The 2021 cast got the Ballad of Booth. Steven Pasquale just sells he believes what he’s saying the best personally. The other two make it sound like purely Booth is making an emotional plea to the Balladeer, which isn’t bad and they sell that amazingly, just that it doesn’t sound like Booth’s making a genuine point to me if that makes sense.

I put the Ballad of Czolgosz from the 91 cast recording(a combined Gun Song/Ballad of Czolgosz specifically). Neither Czolgosz nor the Balladeer have a heavy enough accent to be distracting, but Czolgosz still does have enough of an accent for it to be noticeable.

And sorry, but there’s no beating Broadway Guiteau. There’s parts where the others got close but this man constantly sells how utterly insane Guiteau is, even if the musical tones him down slightly.

And I am including Both Byck’s second monologue from the broadway cast and the extended Nov. 22/Close the New York Stock Exchange from the original cast so Byck and LHO can have their spotlights. Because I like being able to include all of the named characters:)
