Pit Fighter Harriet Hook
Okay so recently I decided to watch Arcane and it was rlly good! So I decided to draw Harriet Hook as pit fighter Vi, however I seem to have overestimated my artistic abilities bc this drawing lowkey turned out like poop from a butt, but I promised my mutuals some art of this so I’d feel bad if I didn’t post it
So anyways, have Harriet at Gaston's Duels Without Rules! (Credits to the super awesome @panthera-tigris-venenata for that idea!!)

#op this is excellent#like SUPER excellent#you're underestimating yourself fr#the muscle definition is hitting DIFFERENT

Okay so I saw this post by @hannahhook7744 and a question shot right into my head
... the fuck did Jafar get eggs from?
Yes we see chickens all over the island kinda but from what we know judging by the isle of the lost books- shouldn't all eggs be hoarded by those who own buisnesses?
Frollo makes crepes which in of itself takes a lot of eggs, not to mention the egg and spinach crepe he sells regularly where the Gaston family alone probably eats more than half the supply
Speaking of Gaston- just because the eggs might be rotten it doesn't seem like he has dropped the whole "five dozen eggs" routine- sure he might not be able to reach that number due to shortage but that would just means he eats whatever eggs he can get his hands on
And judging by Gil stealing eggs in D2 as well as him writing... a decent amount about egg dishes on the island in Uma's book I assume all three sons are the same
Shan Yu has his restaurant which according to Uma is one of the best places on the island and he uses a lot of eggs to
And in D2 at the chip shop we see one of the worker pile egg yolks onto Gil's plate
So.... from who and where did Jafar steal/robe/bribe those eggs
#reblogging because I'm wildly amused at the sheer focus on eggs#but no really#why so many eggs#and were there actually enough chickens#where did they get those eggs

Okey, but outside of the whole, "Uma wasn't a villain villain because she wasn't evil, she had some valid points and reasons to be angry," thing, Uma... is a really good villain in D2. And I think that stems from the fact that she is really smart.
She knows how to be intimidating, she is cunning, she taunts her enemies. Mal wronged her and deemed her too weak to be part of her group and her response was becoming more agressive and more ruthless than Mal herself. During "It's going down," she knows what bothers Mal the most is threatening Ben with harm and she keeps doing it in a very intentional way, reveling in watching her fear.
After realizing the wand is fake, Uma tells Mal "You do not get to win every time!" and truly she delivers. She does not let Mal win, she won't. Even after the core four scape, Uma comes up with a plan based solely on that idea: Either way, you don't win. You didn't honor your part of the deal? I'm taking back my leverage: Ben.
Perfect damn revenge actually. She makes Ben take her in the place she was suppose to, shows up in full flair in front of EVERYBODY. He gave her the same ring Mal gave back to him earlier, kissed her hand, looking nothing but smitten for her... just wow.
"I realized how alike Ben and I are, you know?" Uff, digging right into Mal's insecurity that her and Ben are too different to be together. Just hit after hit of where Uma knows its gonna hurt her.
Cherry on top when Uma acts all we should be friends now and takes Mal's hand and THANKS HER?? The under the rug "Yeah Mal, this is because of YOU, thank you for handing me your boyfriend, you didnt want him anyways, did you?"
Like, Uma could have just straight away asked Ben for the wand, but still she takes the time for a dance to "kiss the girl," looking like two love birds in Mal's face. It's beyond a "Ben chose me over you," it's a "Ben choose me over you and I love him too, so I win, I win because I end up happy, my fairytale came true. I end up with the happy ending."
And if you believe that headcanon/theory that the love spell only works if you already feel a certain atraction to the person, it just adds a whole new layer.
A diabolical icon, she is so fascinating.
Not to mention the very clear (almost incidental) parallels that Uma's revenge is doing to Mal what she did to Audrey in D1.

Why are so many people quick to erase characters being poc when it comes to redesigns in this fandom . Next person to make Cruella white and erase Carlos being mixed gets the swarm released on them. The swarm

hot take
the Descendants plot would have work the same if not better if Ben and Chad's roles were reversed
Chad, Cinderella's son, you know the same Cinderella that was treated as a maid by her step family and was still kind and good
Ben, Belle and King Beast son, you know the same Beast that got cursed because he refused to take an old woman for a night, the same Beast that kidnapped a merchant just because he dared to take refuge in his castle (in a storm btw) and then took his daughter in exchange, the same Beast that only changed because he fell in love YEARS later than when the curse was put on him
it would made sense if their roles/personalities were reversed, plus Chad would know that magic can be harmless, and Ben would believe magic is dangerous because of what their parents went through

These new Desnendants writers may not have been able to promote their villains the same way Uma was in D2, I sure can! There’s a new villain in The Rise. Meet Urchin, Uliana’s son!
The past comes back in many ways. Bridget and Ella had to deal with Uliana, Red and Chloe have to deal with Urchin. He’s confident, resourceful, he’s got a crew that follows him without question, and he’s got one major mean streak. He instantly throws Red and Chloe off their game without even trying. This isn’t just Uliana’s son, this isn’t just Uma’s little cousin, this is a force to be reckoned with. He’s ready for his perfect revenge. He’s gonna show Red what a true menace is. Wonderland’s not ready.
The sea has a new king now and his bark has nothing on his bite.

literally nobody can claim that the Descendants movies are in any way, shape, or form “good movies”.
However, these movies were lowkey my childhood and I am not ashamed to admit that I am still unreasonably fond of them.

Now hear me out-
After I saw your post of how Descendants treats Adam's curse as a joke it got me thinking-
What if the weird jokes about the curse is Adam's way of coping with his trauma about the curse in the first place
Now I just want to make it clear that this coping mechanism is UNHEALTHY but let's be honest- when have people EVER been good at dealing with mental health problems in a healthy way?
And look at how Belle acts whenever he makes those jokes
"Well it was either you or a teapot": Gives him a look that says "Are you fucking kidding me?" Yes he did just make a joke about marrying his MOTHER figure instead of her but I feel like she could've also thought "Please stop joking about your own and other people's trauma like this and go to therapy-"
"Lucky for me, she doesn't go by first impressions": Tightens her smile before turning 100% of her focus to Mal
This woman is 100% done with her husband avoiding dealing with his trauma through these stupid jokes and I fully believe she does what she can to make it easier for him
My biggest example of this is the scene where Hades wakes Audrey up, in this scene Belle's wearing a yellow outfit with a blue flower thingy attached to her chest
It's canon in the OG movie that roses are Belle's favorite flowers as Adam says this while he's buying them for their wedding in their bonus book
RED ROSES are Belle's favorite flower yet we barely see any of them in the movies outside the enchanted rose in the museum, you'd think the queen of Auradon's favorite flower would be more prominent in the kingdom or at least on her clothing but NOTHING
Why?
Because Adam is probably traumatized by roses after being forced to watch a rose for ten years knowing it basically symbolized his lifespan, Belle knows her favorite flower triggers her husband so she does her best to keep them away from him
Now I can excuse Adam buying roses for her on her wedding day because he was probably swept up in the moment and wanted to make her happy, plus the curse had just been lifted at this point so he probably hadn't fully taken in his trauma yet
I saw you mentioning in one of your posts that D3's mech book treats his curse like a "superpower", now since to my knowledge there's no book where Adam's writing down stuff personally I'm assuming it's the other characters doing this, to which I say
Just look at how people irl treats this curse, barely any acknowledgement how badly this would fuck up someone mentally, all the jokes that "Belle liked him better as beast" "He was better looking as the beast"
I saw that page from D3 novelization that Mal doesn't seem to care AT ALL that her fiancé got cursed so these people not understanding how badly this fucks up a person checks out
TL: DR: Adam has developed and encouraged bad ways of dealing with his trauma and Belle has been trying to drag his ass to therapy since the moment she heard the first joke related to the curse
(Okay sorry if this became so long but you're one of few people in the fandom I've seen not hating D! Belle and Adam and I love having people to discuss my hyperfixations with)
(Also want to make it clear that I fully agree that the way Descendants handles the curse is stupid- luckily stupid decisions from the writers leads to much free room for interpretation and headcanons)
You say "sorry this became so long" as if me and the other like 3 people interested in this character haven't been starved for content lmao
Anyways. This is one of those headcanons that's like "OMG it fits perfectly with canon!!! :)" and "ouch, it fits perfectly with canon!!!!! :(" at the same time. Because it makes so much sense!!!! But also it makes so much sense.
I don't actually have much to add, other than I definitely agree with this headcanon. Thank you for sharing it!

The young Queen's portrait.
Excerpt from Descendants New beginnings draft 2.
-As they walk, Red glances at a portrait of her mother when she was younger, a kinder look on her face-though as the portraits age-her mother becomes more like the mad queen of wonderland, going from a pink red to the blood red she wore today, with a cruel look on her face.-

I subscribe to the theory that Coach Jenkins is secretly the Genie. It makes no sense but also perfect sense, which just makes it even more something Genie would do. The Genie sees this kid who's so much like Aladdin, has so much potential, a true diamond in the rough, so he does his best to mentor him, show him the way so that he can shine. He's a magical creature living in Auradon, he's an outcast with strict rules binding who he can be, and he sees himself in Jay, a child from the penal colony who's restrained by unfair rules purely because of where he grew up, no one willing to take a chance on him just because of what he is, an Isle kid. So Jenkins takes a chance on him. And he wants to let Jay know that the entire world isn't against him, so he shows Jay that there are people like him in Auradon, people who understand him and his friends, who understand, sort of, what he's going through. Because Jay needs that. He could truly shine if someone would just take that leap of faith. And Coach? He's leaping and he's not looking back
I think Coach is the Genie in "disguise" (the blue skin weirds people out so he makes himself look human)

Yet another synopsis for Descendants 5

So now it's a whole gang of villains instead of just one and the Wonderland Gem seems to have been replaced by the more vague "Wonderland's power source".
....So HOW does this connect to Red and Chloe's time traveling? Because so far the only time line changes are Bridget now being good and Red getting a sister.
I guess Max Hatter, Hazel, and Felix could also be a result of the timeline changing but unless Pink, Max, Hazel, and Felix are the villains(and I doubt they are) I don't see how they effect things all that much aside from Pink.

So I've been getting into Descendants again and rewatching it...the love potion thing is really really bad. Like horribly bad but because it's Disney, everything is all daises and roses but I always wondered, what if it wasn't? What if Ben was rightfully traumatized and angry that his free will was taken from him? Thus, this little oneshot was born. Enjoy!!
After the love potion wore off, Ben was distant. Not overly distant. He didn't want people to question his sudden turn of emotions but it was enough that Mal confronted him about it. Her anger and hurt over his distance were far too much for him to handle. The longer she talked, the more she rubbed her hands over his arms, the way she grabbed his hands, it all sent shivers down his spine. It felt as if everywhere she touched, insects were crawling over and inside his skin, burrowing so deep, he feared he'd never get rid of the feeling. It was on one of their weekly dates to the enchanted lake where everything he'd been storing inside burst out in a single moment and he couldn't take it anymore.
"You potioned me Mal," he interrupted her, watching as the color drained from her face. "You took my choice away from me. You forced me to love you, to abandon Aubrey and all my friends and for what?"
Mal watched as he visibly struggled to gather his thoughts together, her mind trying to work out how this was going to go.
"Ben…" Her voice trailed off as she reached up to cup his cheek.
Ben shook his head and stepped back from her hands, watching as they dropped limply at her side. A part of him, a part that he tried to squash down into nothing, urged him to take her in his arms, to comfort her, forgive her. "Did you think I'd be okay with this? Did you think I'd forgive that especially when you haven't even apologized?"
A moment passed, silence reigning making the atmosphere awkward. "Do you feel guilty at all?" He questioned finally, wanting no needing to know if there was any part of Mal that could be saved, hoping he didn't make the biggest mistake of his life, wishing she'd give him an answer that didn't mean he had doomed his people.
Mal's eyebrows furrowed, her face turning a bright crimson. "Of course I do!" She had been meaning to apologize when everything was over. He was a nice guy, is a nice guy and if she had any other option, she would have chosen it. They all would have chosen differently.
Ben nodded his head, balling his hands into fists to hide the nerves he felt, shaking them out. "Then tell me why you did it. I deserve that much."
"…I can't," Mal whispered, her voice cracking. He couldn't see her as she hung her head but her eyes swam with tears that refused to fall. She couldn't tell him the truth, afraid that it would cause him to lose all faith in her, more than he already had.
Ben looked down at her but all he could see was the top of her head. It didn't stop her from feeling the coldness that radiated from his gaze, his expression hardening before falling into a blank mask.
"I see," he said, his voice flat and monotone. The tiny sliver of hope that had been building in his chest was knocked down by her answer or rather her refusal to answer.
"After my coronation, I don't ever want to see you again."
Mal's head shot up, fear racing up her spine and something must have shown in her face because Ben smiled, consoling and comforting but oh so very wrong. It was the kind of smile you give to a stranger, someone you have no attachment to but feel pity for anyways.
"Don't worry," he said, smile still plastered on his face. "I won't tell. Despite what you did to me, I wouldn't send you back to the Isle, not that it wouldn't be deserved but because it wouldn't be fair to all the other children stuck on that Island. None of them should suffer because of you."
Mal felt as if she couldn't breathe, the more he talked. The way he talked, it was just everyone else who hated her because of her mother except this time…the hate was deserved. It was directed at her because of what she did. She looked into his eyes and saw nothing. The blankness in his stare made her flinch back, her arms coming up to wrap themselves around her waist.
"Ben please," she began but he cut her off before she could finish pleading. Pleading for what, she didn't know. Her heart was pounding in her chest, her palms felt slick with sweat, her mind blank, and yet thoughts of how to convince him, how to make him stay ran through her head at dizzying speed. She didn't understand what was happening, why was this happening?
"Don't Mal," he warned. Ben shut his eyes at the sight of her tears, willing himself to stay strong despite the potion's effects still coursing in his heart. That was the worst thing about love potions, even when it's removed, what it made you feel is still there, except now you know it's foreign and fake but still so strong.
Taking a deep breath, Ben opened his eyes, making sure to look just above her head. "We should go," he said and turned to walk away.
Mal could only stare at his back, her legs frozen as she felt everything crumbling from underneath her. Why did she feel this way? Slowly but surely, feeling returned to her and as she forced herself to move, to follow the boy that just broke up with her, she stopped with a horrible realization that she loved him, that the horrible feelings coursing through her body was heartbreak and with that, another realization came barreling into her.
He never loved her at all.
