Evidence of Hebrew being the oldest alphabet, and proof of exodus of Egypt?
According to archaeologist Douglas Petrovich, over 3,800 years ago Hebrews enslaved by Egyptians used 22 of Egyptian hieroglyphs in order to create the Hebrew alphabet. Critics have claimed that the early alphabet could any other early Semitic language. However, the slab found,which is called Sania 115, dates to about 1842 b.c.e. It identifies Joseph and his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, and is inscribed with the words “6 Levantines: Hebrews of Bethel, the beloved.” Petrovich has recently had an interview with Fox News, telling them this: “On this otherwise Middle Egyptian caption were a Canaanite syllabic and the world’s oldest attested proto-consonantal letter ‘B,’ depicting a house for the Hebrew consonant ‘bet,’” he said. “It was this single proto-consonantal Hebrew letter that helped me to understand that the world’s oldest alphabet – the language of which has been unidentified for over 150 years of scholarship – is Hebrew.”(The Jerusalem Post). Petrovich has translated other Hebrew inscriptions, including one from 1446 b.c.e., which describes Moses as a leader heading the ancient Jews after the exodus from Egypt. Critics have also argued that biblical dates are wrong, but Petrovich replied saying the onus is on them to prove them wrong. Petrovich said his findings are very controversial and if they are correct, will rewrite history books and change the way people view the Bible and Ancient Jews.
