President Buhari Congratulates Obaseki, Reiterates Commitment To Free, Fair Elections President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Godwin Obaseki on his re-election as governor of Edo State. He congratulated him on Sunday in a statement signed by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, urging him to continue to show grace and humility in victory. The President also commended the election process in the state, reiterating the government’s commitment to free and fair elections. “My commitment to free and fair elections is firm because without free and fair elections, the foundation of our political and moral authority will be weak,” he said. “I have consistently advocated for free and fair elections in the country because it is the bedrock of true democratic order. “Democracy will mean nothing if the votes of the people don’t count or if their mandate is fraudulently tampered with.” Speaking further, President Buhari also commended the people of the state, the parties, candidates and security agencies for conducting themselves responsibly. It was a dramatic process that saw Obaseki run a governorship race against Ize-Iyamu for a second time in four years. Both men faced each other in 2016, albeit with Obasek flying the flag of the APC and Ize-Iyamu flying that of the PDP. A political rift between the governor and Oshiomhole which spiraled beyond the state to national politics, saw both men switch parties and square up against each other on platforms they once criticised. The campaign, characterised by drama and controversy that did not spare the State House of Assembly, was tempered by the intervention of the Oba of Benin to calm fears that the poll could turn violence heightened. A peace accord was also signed by all the candidates days before the poll as stakeholders made concerted efforts to ensure a successful poll. Overall, most of the stakeholders rated the exercise as largely peaceful, free and fair. Follow us on Twitter@celesylvupdates https://www.instagram.com/p/CFZbXetJtzt/?igshid=179p604e4l3b2

Catholic Priest Becomes High Court Judge....Makes History. Among the 16 Judges who were inducted on Wednesday 16 September 2020, by President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House, one was a Catholic Priest. Reverend Father Joseph Adu Owusu-Agyemang has made history in the Ghana judiciary by becoming the first Priest to be a Court Judge; a High Court Judge for that matter.. Despite the fact that there are some Ghanaian lawyers who are priest, there hasn’t been a court Judge who is Priest. Reverend Father Josepth Adu Owusu-Agymang is the Parish Priest of All Saints Catholic Church, Santasi Fankyenebra in the Kumasi Archdiocese. Archbishop Peter Akwasi Sarpong ordained him as Priest on July 14, 2007, in the Kumasi Archdiocese by , the legal luminary until his current position worked at Archdiocese’s legal service department. There were other 15 who were sworn as High Court Judges by President Akufo Addo yesterday. In the President’s speech to remind the newly sworn High Court Judges of the duty ahead of them as High Court Judges, he said ““Jurisdiction in all matters, and, in particular, in civil and criminal matters, and such original, appellate and other jurisdiction as may be conferred on it by this Constitution or any other law”, and also “jurisdiction to enforce the Fundamental Human Rights and Freedoms guaranteed by this Constitution” He also admonished them to exhibit honesty, descipline and fairness in their line of work so that, the Ghanaians will have trust in the judiciary. He added ““It is, therefore, critical for the growth of the nation that the High Court commands the respect of the people by the quality of its justice, as well as by the comportment of its judges,” Follow us on Twitter@celesylvupdates https://www.instagram.com/p/CFRNFOoJwKd/?igshid=1he965dgtfyiw

How you handle rejection and betrayals say alot about you... Last week, American based popular Ghanaian pastor, Sylvester Ofori, shot his wife dead in cold blood, right in front of her place of work, in the United States of America. Unconfirmed reports say, that Pastor Sylvester's wife, Barbara, was allegedly cheating on her husband with the choir director of the church on her matrimonial bed. The woman was also alleged to have mistakenly sent seductive videos and photos of herself which was meant for her boyfriend to her husband instead. The man may have also discovered another seductive video of Barbara that was allegedly recorded in his Jacuzzi and sent to the choir director according to rumor mill. This got him so angry that he publicly murdered his wife at her work place on September 8,2020. He was arrested by Orlando police Department. Does it worth it? What about divorcing her and moving on? No one is even talking about what the woman allegedly did. Everyone is mad at the man. Men and women must be mature enough to learn how to manage rejections and betrayals without losing their minds. Just as he wasted his wife's life, his life will be ruined as he sits in his lonely jail the rest of his natural life in full regret of the action he took on September 8, 2020. Israel To Demolish Mosque In Jerusalem, Wants To Turn The Area Into The City of David Israel on Monday issued a demolition order for a mosque in the town of Silwan in east Jerusalem for “lack of a construction permit,” according to local residents. Israeli authorities gave the curators of the Qaqaa Bin Amr mosque 21 days to challenge the order. Built in 2012, the two-floor mosque accommodates hundreds of worshippers. A similar demolition order was issued in 2015, but was never enforced. In recent years, Israeli settlers have seized control of dozens of Palestinian homes in Silwan, which is close to the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Israeli settlement organization Elad says it seeks to turn Silwan into a Jewish area called the City of David. Israeli authorities have stepped up their demolition campaigns in Jerusalem in recent weeks, razing dozens of Palestinian homes, particularly in Silwan. This was the circulated photo of a vulture waiting for a starving Sudanese girl to die so it can feast on her. It was taken by Kevin Carter, a prolific photojournalist, during the famine of 1993 in Sudan. This photo later won Kevin the Pulitzer prize for an 'exceptional' caption. However, Kevin later got depressed and took his own life four months after his world wide celebration as a skillful photographer. He fell to depression. His depression began when during an interview ( a phone-in programme), someone asked him what happened to the child. "I did not wait to see what happened after this shot as I had a flight to catch.... ".And the person replied, "I put it to you that there were two vultures that day, one had a camera". This statement sank Kevin and as he constantly thought of the statement, he got depressed and ended his own life. In whatever we do, let's consider humanity first before what we can gain. Kevin Carter, may still have been alive today if he had helped that little child. We have not truly lived, until our lives have become the stars and sunshine of someone else. Search within you and if there is that one person you feel you can help start now tomorrow might be too late. Meet Benedicta Elechi, Daddy Freeze's fiancée who left her husband to be with Daddy Freeze after she discovered that she was pregnant for him while still in her husband's house. She was married to Mr Paul Odekina who she took to court in 2018 seeking to be divorced from him because she has left her husband's house to be with Daddy Freeze. A man who goes around getting peoples' wives pregnant and taking their husbands to court has no moral authority to speak about the Bible. This is 2020 she is still a fiancée, not even a wife. BENUE ROARS AS TERWASE AKWAZA (GANA) IS KILLED IN GBOKO 9 September, 2020 Hours after accepting to cease fire and surrendering to the amnesty program of the Benue state Government, Mr Terwase Akwaza was killed and dragged in Gboko. The news has not gone down well with Benue people as they expect, Mr Akwaza also known as Gana to have been incorporated in the society the same way repentant Boko Haram members are treated. Remember that President Muhammad Buhari has granted amnesty to Boko Haram members and over 800 have so far been reincorporated in the society and reunited with their families. The case of GANA could have been same which was the expectation of the people until that 'betrayal'. Criminal activities and other acts of mischief within the Sankara axis, of Benue North are linked to Gana and his allies. He had been declared wanted by the Benue State Government though all efforts to reached him proved abortive until he surrendered. Earlier yesterday, Tuesday, he along side over 100 members of his team ceased fire and aligned with the amnesty program of Gov. Samuel Ortom. He was to be taken to Makurdi where he would meet with the Governor but as fate would have it, was killed in Gboko. Celesylv updates gathered that, some members of Gana's team fled the scene to their hideouts when their superior was being murdered. This might also be a reason to be scared. This act is considered 'betrayal' by the people of Benue. In his reaction, Gov. Samuel Ortom claimed that, the victim was ceased by military along the way and killed in Gboko which proves that he doesn't not support that action. https://www.instagram.com/p/CE8qbPkpTp1/?igshid=xkehrkitrj18

Rev Father Mbaka, God is indeed Patient! "Fuel and electricity prices were increased on the same day. You were silent. Security agents killed unarmed IPOB members right there in Enugu, where you live. You were silent. 14 out of 16 military and security agencies are headed by Northern Muslim males. You were silent. The media leaked a memo that Boko Haram has infiltrated Abuja. You are silent. Nigeria has taken so much loans fo the extent that the World Bank and IMF are now dictating to our government-we have lost our independence. Still silence from you. But, in the midst of this you chose to prophecy/forecast on #BBNaija? God is indeed patient! God is indeed very patient!
