You should have never imposed false hope on me. I waited for autumn for you. You only told me what I wanted to hear. I didn’t need your rose tinted lies. All I wanted was the truth. Now I hate your laugh, which used to be my favourite sound, because she’s the one causing it. I hate to see your stupid half smile while you hold hands with her.I hate the two of you because it’s just a reflection of what we could have been.  We wouldn’t have been perfect but we could have been great and you didn’t even give us a chance.You preferred a highly known road  as opposed to a curvy but exciting new one.  And it wasn’t fear, it was lack of courage and I shouldn’t blame you but I do, I was stretching out my hand to reach you but you were holding hers.

She sighed quietly, and continued on. “You already have me, but you’re still stuck chasing after things that will never be yours.” He stared at her, unsure of what to say. “I can’t do this if you’re never going to realize what you have. I can’t do this if.. I’m not going to be enough. That’s not how it’s supposed to be.

his hand found my cheek, brushing away a stray tear or three before tucking my hair behind my ear. “but what if there’s someone else-” I began, trying to spit out the words weighing down on me. he pulled me as close as humanly possible and looked me directly in my eyes. He said not to worry but I kept brushing off his words until his hands, sturdy and steady, held my chin up and had my gaze locked in with his. “because no one could ever love me like you do.”

A Question

Someone asked me,

“Do you still love her?”

I looked at her and without hesitation I replied,

“I still do.”

“Then why did you leave her?,” She uttered with girdled blues.

I casted my eyes over the window beside me and gently answered,

“Walking away from someone you love does not always mean you have stop loving them.”

She looked at me, puzzled, as though I am a perplexed mathematical equation.

I cracked a forceful smile as I continued,

“Sometimes, you do it because you have to stop hurting yourself.”
