Preparation for Final Pitching
For the incoming final pitching our team had done a lot of preparation. Our team hustler is always practice pitching our slide deck for four minutes time limit. As a designer, I’ve already done making wireframe prototype, I always get advises from our team CEO and Programmer to improve much better our wireframe design. Since we required a Hi-Fi wireframe, as a team designer I research a lot about high fidelity wireframe applications and I found this application called Mockplus. This application is very similar to WireFrame Sketcher and since I had some knowledge about that app its very easy to me to design a Hi-Fi wireframe prototype.
And also as a designer I should make a logo or icon for our app the AMBULANCEMEUP. As you can see the logo or icon of AMBULANCEMEUP (picture below) there are two perception of that logo or icon so, First is the white cross logo very similar to Red Cross. Second is the white lane or highway and the four red buildings and that red triangle is the navigator. Because our application is about saving life through navigation.

FINALS ARE COMING
For our final pitch, we should have this requirements listed below: Pitching (4 Minutes) – we should pitch our slide deck within 4 minutes, 2 minutes for Problem, Solution, and How Project Works. And for another 2 minutes are for the rest of the slides. For our preparations our team’s hustler should practice how to pitch our project within the time limit. Slide Deck – the content of the slide deck should be 8 pages (Problem, Solution, How Project Works, Competition, Market Size, Revenue Model, Early Adopters and Team Line-ups). Since we had done all of this content all we have to do is put all of that in one presentation and improve the content. Show Prototype – in final pitching we should present our prototype design in wireframe (Hi-Fi). Lean Canvass – since our project is two sided we present our lean canvass in both sides. Empathy Map – already done. User Persona – already done. For incoming final pitch, only we have to do is practice pitching within four minutes and prepare to defend our project AMBULANCEMEUP for sir and guest panel questions. Hope we pass this subject. Customer Development
Last meeting was scheduled to present our empathy map but sir noticed that almost all of the groups didn’t make their homework so he postponed on Monday and Tuesday. Since sir bgm postponed the presentation of empathy map he discussed and tough us how make our User Persona.
As a startup we should identify our persona because making persona is a powerful tool to getting to know more about to our customer. It includes the details and information about their desired, their goals, their motivation, their situation in life, and what type of person they are.
Our user persona for the project AMBULANCEMEUP are the ambulance driver, since they are the one who gonna use our app.

Our group have done making our Empathy Map (see figure below).
In What Does He Hear section, it’s about the advise he received from his family and friends, since he’s an ambulance driver most of the advise he received are how to avoid traffic and exploring shortcut route on rescuing a patients.

My 2nd blog of the week
“The Voice of the User.”
As a startups, we should know what our users perspective or viewpoint. In the part of interviewing the user or customer we should observe them, observing them while:
1. Asking – ask them a question that is open ended. Mostly an open ended question starts at How, Why and especially Tell me more about where the customer or the user will surely response in that kind of questions.
2. Seeing – watching them, their movement, emotions, feeling, mood and etc. after you give them that question.
3. Engaging – engaging the participants in communication activities to uncover new patterns of behavior. Example for this is ask participants to introduce themselves.
In this meeting Sir Bgm give us an activity where a portrait or a picture shown to the class, and each group explained their though about that picture. We had a different thoughts and ideas about that picture but most of us said that it was a Boyband in late 90’s. After Sir Bgm explained that, when the picture shown to China most the Chinese said that it was about policemen arresting a bad guy and when it shown to Brazil most of Brazilian’s thought are all about hangover boys. Therefore, as a startups not all our user the same thought, every of them have a different ideas.

Since we didn’t meet last meeting, and conducted make-up class (Thursday, March 9), therefore I have to write 2 blogs this week from make-up class + from the regular class.
Regular Class (Project’s Update)
So my first my blog is about the update of our project. So far the update we had done is designing our project through WireFrameSketcher application. So my team chose me to design our project. As I design our project’s platform in WireFrameSketcher, first it is difficult used especially when you had no knowledge about this app but as I watch a tutorial videos in YouTube it amazed me because it used to be more easy than I thought was difficult. After knowing all the functions of WireFrame I started to design, you just click new project then new screen. No codes needed just click libraries, click the icon and chose the icon you want to use. If you didn’t find icon or components you want, just click file and click import (import file from your computer).
Wednesday, March 8, as we presented our slide deck together with our WireFrame design. Sir bgm ask our team if we already done our interview, and we answered “Not yet sir”. Sir said that we should conduct our interview to our customer and ask them if they like the design, and if not, and ask them what they want, what they like to change. And if we already done our interview we should finalize our project design in what customer want or like.

After sir bgm discuss about Lean Canvas (Last Meeting), this week he tough us about Validation Board.
Validation Board
This topics is about to manage or to track the progress of the startups. The startups should focus only on what really matter of their project in business ideas. There are steps on how Validation Board works:
Customer Hypothesis - in this part, the startups should define their hypothesis that includes the customer. The target customer should be a specific group of people, example in our group our target customer are the people who have knowledge about smartphone.
Problem Hypothesis – seek problem to the specific group of people, what’s problem of your chosen customer. For us, the problem is most people who use smartphone are don’t know how to use smartphone in terms when there’s an accident.
Solution Hypothesis – “Tip: Do not define solution until you’ve validated the problem”.
After defining this hypothesis the startups should design a experiment.
Riskiest Assumption – from the word assumption, the startups should assume of what their target clients or customer wants. Then pick the riskiest one in your several assumption you’ve made. Example, why ambulance is late to arrive when there’s an accident? Because the driver don’t know the location? Or because the public are late to call an ambulance?
Method – this how the startups gonna test their ideas.
Minimum Success Criterion – ask yourself if your experiments are effective or have enough data to validate your idea.
Get out of the building, collect data from the target customer. Analyse the result if it is invalidated or validated. And next is
Pivot – in this process the problem of the startups setting out to solve isn’t what the target customer really wants with but there is another problem that startups is like to help them solve. For example in our group project the problem is most people who use smartphone are don’t know how to use smartphone in terms when there’s an accident but the real problem is people are afraid to call an ambulance because it’s too expensive (time-to-time call). (117 or Landline-Php12 call per minute and regular number-Php6 call per minute) Note: Most of emergency hotline are landline or 3 Digit Number.
Our team next plan is to design the layout of our project using wireframe sketcher. :)

7th Blog..
February 15, on this day our group present our lean canvas about Ambulancemeup. As we present, sir bgm make a lot of correction about the slide we presented.
First is about the statement of our problem. It should be two sided problem. It should state the problem of the user and the problem of the customer. For us (Ambulancemeup), our user are the public or the citizens of Cagayan de Oro that have knowledge about smartphone and our customer are the hospitals around Cagayan de Oro. For example, for the users it’s hard to call an ambulance when there an accident they rather call any means of transportation like taxi, jeepney and etc. For customer sides, the Hospital Ambulance driver don’t know the exact location of the accident they rather make a time-to-time call.
Second, it state in our slides our early adopters are the public and the hospitals around CDO. But sir said that focus only on one hospital like CUMC, NMMC and etc. that should be our early adopter.
Lastly is our unique value proposition. Our group’s quote is “Keep calm and trust the AMBULANCEMEUP”. Sir bgm said that we should changed it to a quote that more about speed, life and health.
And our team is making a move to make our project better. :)

6th Blog...
Feb 8 2017, sir bgm noticed that we are not prepared to represent our revised pitch so he postponed it on our next meeting Feb 15. And lecture us about The Lean Canvas.
Sir bgm discussed what is lean canvas and what’s the use for it. So what I remembered, lean canvas is like a business plan for the beginner (start-up). In the slides, the are parts or process of lean canvass:
1. Problem 2. Customer Segment 3. Unique Value Proposition 4. Solution 5. Channels 6. Revenue Streams 7. Cost Structure 8. Key metrics 9. Unfair Advantage
Sir bgm discussed all that process of lean canvas then he said that next meeting (Feb 15) we should present our pitch with that 1-4 parts of lean canvas the problem, customer segment, unique value proposition and our solution.

Weekly Update
During in the first proposal of projects we have two topics. Out of two we should only select one. So our team decided to select the AMBULANCEMEUP. AMBULANCEMEUP is a mobile app that will help the public call an ambulance. This app will send notification on the nearest hospital from the accident area. After the proposal of the chosen idea (AMBULANCEMEUP), our instructor questioned us “who are the user and consumer of your project”. So the user of our project are the people in public (they can use our mobile app when there’s an accident) and the consumer are the hospitals. Our next move is to gathered data or information through conducting interview. We will conduct interview of some hospitals in Cagayan de Oro to know their problems on how they manage a rescue once there an accident. After gathering data we will find solution on that, and add it to idea in our project to improve and make it better. And present it again to our instructor.

Pitching experience or your team preparation before the pitch and your next plan after the pitch.
This is not my first time to pitch a project but I feel nervous. As our team turn to present my mind won’t stop thinking “should I present it in English or Bisaya?”. As I started to present I began by greeting my instructor, from there I began reading the slides without making any eye contact with anybody. After I read every one slide I explain to them of what’s the meaning or idea of that. Before the proposal of projects or so called pitching our team having a brainstorming to make decision of what should project should we proposed. Each of the members gave their opinion of what type of project and how we pitch it to our instructor. And then our team came up with two projects. So our team’s next move is to revise the proposal of what our instructor suggest us. And chose one of two projects.

Example is when there is an accident happening in the road or in highway our project will automatically send a notification on the Hospital and Police Station for the help. Same as when there’s a fire it will automatically call a fire station.

We choose these for our market area because our project was all about emergency purposes like having a car accident or if there is a fire. We may help our authorities in just one click in our project.
One of our study is on the the road.A road accident is commonly attributed to the collision of vehicles, pedestrian, or with an object that will result to death, disability and damage to property. Road accidents were caused by driver’s errors(26%), mechanical defect (12%), over speeding (18%), drinking spree before driving(1%) , damaged roads (5%). Daytime traffic accidents were found higher than in the night. The study focused on the occurrence of the traffic accidents from period 2001 to 2006 and events were evaluated using the factors that contribute into the accidents. In this case in our project in just one click in our smart phone the Police stations and the Hospitals will be notified that there is an accident in the near by.

What are my strong suit? For me, I have many good qualities as a student like focussing in my studies. So my strong suit is I am more motivated and goal orientated person. I don’t let people discourage about me so I will finished or complete all the work and task that given to me. More motivated to finished the task to achieve my goal, that’s my strong suit. What are my weaknesses? Not like other people, I am more compatible working alone than working as a group. Example is having a group study, I prefer study alone because I cannot focused I feel uncomfortable. I hope that I can overcome this weakness because this is no good especially working in the field. What is my topic interest? I interested about Virtual Reality (VR) Gadgets. I didn’t expect about this technology, where VR can generate realistic images, sounds or can duplicate a real environment it’s like in the anime called Sword Art Online where gamers or players free to play in virtual world by using VR technology. Why do I want to do a start-up? I just simply say that I want to do a start-up business because I wanna make money. Making money by innovating technology or products unlike simple business their just making money thru buy and sell.

Technopreneurship
Before when I am a high school student we have subject called entrepreneurship. In this subject we act like a business man, we buy products and sell with profits. So what I expect in this subject technopreneurship is we sell products but we do not buy products we make it with innovation. I hope this subject will help me achieve my dreams to become an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur where merging technology and entrepreneur talent and skills.
