OK OK i’m always a slut for the cyberpunk aesthetic and the politics that come with it but the original ghost in the shell film had so much that didn’t sit well with me…like something doesn’t have to be 100% unproblematic for me to enjoy it but i do have standards, and I do like a certain percentage of NOT-EXPOSITORY DIALOGUE as well

This is just a trailer and obviously can’t speak for the film as a whole but there’s a lot to like, despite some of the typical exploitative anime shots (looking at you 2:10).

2. Passes the bechdel test, in the trailer??

3. She can apparently cloak without taking her clothes off now, like male characters in the original film

And the aesthetic is so strong…i could maybe be on board for this?
