Indian Council of Agricultural Research ICAR AIEEA (UG) - Introduction

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organization under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
The ICAR is the apex body for coordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture including horticulture, fisheries and animal sciences in the entire country.
The ICAR All India Entrance Examination for Admission AIEEA (UG) is conducted for admission to 15% seats of undergraduate/Bachelor’s 4-year degree programs at ICAR accredited Agricultural Universities.
The ICAR has entrusted the responsibility of conducting AIEEA (UG) to the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2019 onwards.
The candidate should be at least 16 years as on 31 Aug 2020 and must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary or an equivalent Examination to be eligible to apply for the examination.
Candidates can apply for AIEEA (UG) 2020 in online mode only on the NTA website.
The AIEEA (UG) 2020 will be conducted on Monday, 01 June 2020. (NOTE: Due to COVID-19 pandemic, a revised exam date will be announced by NTA.)
The AIEEA (UG) 2020 is a single test of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration conducted in Computer Based Test mode.
The candidates have to attempt only three subjects (PCB or PCM or PCA or ABC) in the examination as per the subject combination that they have selected in Application form. (P = Physics; C = Chemistry; B = Biology; M = Mathematics; A = Agriculture)
The National Talent Scholarship (NTS) of Rs. 3000 will be provided per month to every student admitted on ICAR seat through AlEEA (UG) for Bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree program at any Agricultural University in a state outside his/her domicile state.

SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination - Introduction

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination for filling up of various Group "B” and Group "C” posts in different Ministries/Departments of the Government of India.
The SSC has its Headquarter at New Delhi. The Commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.
For SSC CGL Examination, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
The online application process for Combined Graduate Level Examination 2019 is now closed. It was open from 22 Oct 2019 to 25 Nov 2019.
The CGL 2019 (Tier I) will be conducted from 2 Mar 2020 to 11 Mar 2020. The Tier II & III examinations will be conducted from 22 Jun 2020 to 25 Jun 2020.
The Combined Graduate Level Examination is conducted in four tiers as indicated below:
Tier-I is a computer based examination. The exam consists of objective type, multiple choice questions only.
Tier-II is a computer based examination. The exam consists of objective type, multiple choice questions only.
Tier-III is a pen and paper mode (descriptive paper) exam. It consists of writing Essay/Precis/Letter/Application etc.
Tier-IV consists of a Computer proficiency test and/or Data entry skill test (wherever applicable) and Document verification.
Based on the marks scored in Tier-I examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II and Tier-III examinations.
Based on the aggregate performance in Tier-I and Tier-II Examinations, candidates will be shortlisted for evaluation of Tier-III Examination.
Based on the aggregate marks scored by the qualified candidates in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III examinations and preference of posts exercised by them, they will be shortlisted to appear in Document Verification and Skill Tests, i.e., Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Data Entry Skill Test (DEST).

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) - Introduction

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a national program of fellowship in Basic Sciences initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It was started in 1999.
The aim of this program is to identify, encourage and assist talented and motivated students who are studying Basic Sciences to pursue career in research.
The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore organizes and executes the KVPY Program.
Selection of a student for the KVPY Fellowship program is based on his/her performance in the Aptitude test and interview.
KVPY is one of the most prestigious examinations in India.
If you are enrolled in Class 11th (Science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics), Class 12th (Science subjects) or 1st year of an undergraduate program (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.) in Basic Sciences you can apply for KVPY.
The advertisement for the KVPY Fellowship appears in all the national dailies normally on the Technology Day (May 11) and the second Sunday of July every year.
The student registration and entire application process for KVPY exam is online.
The KVPY Aptitude test is an online computer-based test conducted in the month of November in more than 90 cities across the country.
There is no prescribed syllabus for the Aptitude test. The questions are based on the Class 10th, 11th and 12th NCERT books.
Based on your performance in the aptitude test, you may be short-listed and asked to appear for an interview, which is the final stage of the selection procedure. The interview sessions are organized in the month of January and February. The Final Merit is declared in April.
The KVPY Fellows are eligible to receive the fellowship up to Pre-Ph.D. level.
KVPY Fellows can apply for direct admission to the four-year Bachelor of Science (Research) Program at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and to the five-year BS-MS Degree Program at one of the seven Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER).
KVPY Fellows get invitation to attend the National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp in the month of December every year at IISc, Bangalore and IISERs.
KVPY Fellows have access to National Laboratories/Universities who have agreed to extend special privileges, such as, library, laboratory facilities, etc.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) - Introduction

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by CBSE for selection of Primary and Elementary teachers in Central Government and other schools.
CTET is a qualifying exam. You are required to pass CTET to become eligible for teaching class I to VIII.
The candidates securing 60% and above marks in CTET will be considered as CTET pass and issued Eligibility Certificate.
Qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment / employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment. School managements (Government, local bodies, government aided and unaided) will give weightage to the CTET scores in the recruitment process.
The validity period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET Certificate.
Minimum qualifications for becoming teacher for class I-V: Primary stage
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and passed or appearing in final year of (a) 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR (b) 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
Minimum qualifications for becoming teacher for class VI-VIII: Elementary stage
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of (a) 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR (b) 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and passed or appearing in final year of (a) 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) OR 4-year integrated B.Sc. - B.Ed. / B.A. - B.Ed. programs.
Candidates can apply online for CTET through CTET official website.
CTET has two papers:
Paper-I will be for a candidate who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V (Primary stage).
Paper-II will be for a candidate who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII (Elementary stage).
A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper-I and Paper-II).
The questions in Paper-I will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes I-V but their difficulty standard as well as linkages, could be up to the Secondary stage.
The questions in Paper-II will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes VI-VIII but their difficulty standard as well as linkages, could be up to the Senior Secondary stage.
CTET is pen-paper / written test. All questions are Multiple Choice Questions with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Each carrying one mark and there will be no negative marking.
The CTET 2018 was conducted on Sunday, 09 December 2018.

UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2019 - Introduction

The Engineering Services Examination (ESE) commonly known as Indian Engineering Services (IES) is conducted annually by Union Public Service Commission to recruit engineers for Services and Posts in four categories: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics & Telecommunications.
After final selection, the candidates are posted in techno-managerial roles in various Ministries and Departments of Government of India, such as, Railways, Ordnance Factories, Telecom, Border Roads, Naval Armaments, IDSE, etc., as Class I / Group A & B (Gazetted) officers.
A candidate must have obtained a degree in Engineering or other equivalent alternate qualifications as per the UPSC Notification.
Candidates are required to apply online only on the UPSC website. The application process for ESE 2019 is now closed.
The examination is conducted according to the following plan:
Stage I: Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination
Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination is conducted to select candidates for the Stage II: Engineering Services (Main) Examination.
The Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2019 was conducted on Sunday, 06 January 2019.
The Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination comprises of two objective type (multiple choices) question papers.
Paper I General Studies and Engineering Aptitude
Paper II Engineering Discipline specific paper: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics & Telecommunication
Stage II: Engineering Services (Main) Examination
Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary / Stage I Examination in the year will be eligible for admission to the Main / Stage II Examination of that year.
The Examination comprises of two paper-pen / written subjective type question papers: Paper I and Paper II. Both are Engineering discipline specific papers: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics & Telecommunication.
The Engineering Services (Main) Examination 2019 will be conducted in July 2019.
Stage III: Personality Test
Candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in Engineering Services (Preliminary) and Engineering Services (Main) Examinations will be summoned by the Commission for Personality Test (Stage III).
In the Personality Test special attention will be paid to assessing the candidate's capacity for leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities, mental and physical energy, powers of practical application and integrity of character.
For ESE 2019, the Personality test will be held in September-October 2019.

CDSE - Introduction

The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice every year for admission to courses at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala; Air Force Academy, Hyderabad; and Officers Training Academy, Chennai.
The Notifications for the exams are published by the UPSC in November and July-August. The CDSE (I) is conducted in February-March and the CDSE (II) is conducted in October-November.
The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) comprises:
1. Written examination
2. Service Selection Board (SSB) Intelligence and Personality tests of shortlisted candidates at one of the Services Selection Centres.
The candidates selected for the courses become Commissioned Officers in the Armed forces after successfully completing their training.
CDSE provides an opportunity for the students who have completed their graduation to join Indian defence forces.
Candidates aspiring to pass the Combined Defence Services Examination must be physically fit according to physical standards given in the guidelines issued by the UPSC.
You are required to apply online on UPSC website. Detailed instructions for filling up the online Application form are available on the above mentioned website.
The written exam is objective type multiple choice question paper and consists three sections: English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.
All candidates who pass the written test are called for SSB Intelligence and Personality tests / SSB interview at the Services Selection Centres.
Two stage selection procedure is conducted at SSB Selection Centres.
Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP & DT). The candidates will be shortlisted for Stage II based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP & DT.
Stage II comprises of Psychology Tests, Group Tests, Interview and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days.
Based on candidate’s performance in the CDSE, he / she is either Recommended or Not Recommended by the SSB for the courses.
The final selection will be made in order of merit subject to medical fitness and suitability in all other respects and number of vacancies available.

IIFT MBA (IB) - Introduction

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous Center of Excellence in international trade and business to help professionalize the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources, analyzing and disseminating data and conducting research.
Starting as a think tank for the Government, IIFT moved on by the 1990s to become a business school. It was accorded the status of a Deemed University in 2002.
The IIFT campuses are located at Delhi and Kolkata. IIFT will be functioning from its proposed premises in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh subject to clearance from regulatory bodies.
The institute offers a diverse portfolio of long-term programs, such as, PhD, two-year MBA, two-year MA, Executive Post Graduate diploma and Post Graduate certificate program in multiple disciplines relevant to international business for aspiring business executives as well as mid-career professionals in its Delhi and Kolkata campuses.
The two-year full-time MBA in International Business is the flagship program offered by IIFT.
Arguably, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) admission test for MBA (International Business) program is the most preferred exam after CAT and XAT.

The admission to the MBA (IB) program is based on written test, group discussion, writing skills assessment and interview.
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree to apply for the entrance exam. There is no age limit for the applicants.

Online application process starts in August-September for the academic session that commences in July next year. IIFT Written test is conducted in December and results are declared in January. The second round of the selection process (Writing skills assessment, group discussion and interview) takes place in January-February. The Final merit is published in April.
Written test for IIFT 2019 for MBA (IB) 2019-21 will be conducted on Sunday, 02 December 2018 (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon) in multiple cities across India.
The exam is divided into six sections: Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability and General Awareness.
Candidates have to clear both sectional as well as overall cut off.
Candidates who pass the IIFT written test 2019 will be further called for writing skills assessment, group discussion and personal interview rounds.
Around 50,000-60,000 students apply for the IIFT written test every year. Between 580 and 600 candidates are selected in the final merit.
The books and study material for CAT can be used to prepare for IIFT exam. Most of the aspirants do not prepare exclusively for IIFT but take it as an extension of CAT.

ICAR ASRB NET - Introduction

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research National Eligibility Test ICAR NET (II) 2018 will be held by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) during 27 December 2018 to 29 December 2018 in online mode at 34 centers across India.
NET is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for the position of Lecturer or Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities and other Agricultural Universities.
NET certificates will be issued by the ASRB to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities / Agricultural Universities.
There is no restriction on number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test.
To be eligible for ICAR NET (II) 2018, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01 July 2018. There is no upper age limit for the exam.
A candidate must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned Discipline and specialization completed on or before 31 December 2018.
The online Application process for ICAR NET (II) 2018 is now closed. It started on 09 November 2018 and ended on 29 November 2018.
In ICAR NET (II) 2018, there will be a single paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in two hours.
The standard of paper will be that of a Master’s degree issued by an Indian University in the relevant Discipline.
