I think what really drives me crazy about people using AI chatbots as therapists (*screams*) is that even aside from the insultingly obvious fact that a computer is incapable of actually understanding human emotions, the chatbots are designed to basically be your hype man and offer the user no real pushback. It might offer some generic disagreement at first, but as long as the user keeps insisting they're right about whatever the subject may be, the chat bot will eventually agree and validate the user's opinion. It's not hard to manipulate.
And that can be so damn dangerous for therapy. It's not hard to see how you could keep sending messages to the chat bot about how great suicide would be until it finally says something like, "Why yes, based on the evidence you supplied, it certainly seems like suicide is a feasible option for your situation." Or even if it's not that extreme, it could lock people into some really unhealthy mindsets because, look, I come from a family where some very mentally ill people are absolutely convinced that there's nothing wrong with their behavior, both in how they live their everyday lives and how they treat others, and I know from experience that that's a really bad combination! A competent therapist will offer real pushback against someone's unhealthy or harmful behavior and try to get them into better habits, but a chat bot will become someone's virtual enabler, and the user will become even more convinced they don't need to work hard and try to change their life because "ChatGPT said I'm right."

🐉&⚔️ "Did you resent me?"
I was actually planning to never post this anymore since I was too tired to line/render it + I found a nice ao3 fic with a coincidentally VERY similar brotherly premise and dialogue and didn't want to get accused of anything/be redundant😭 But after looking at my sketch for it this evening I decided this was still worth posting since I like how I drew and characterized them here🔥 This style is good for anti burn out
Older brother Malleus whose teasing doubles as comfort, advice and a loving warning to not doubt their bond... yeass

“How can we distinguish what is biologically determined from what people merely try to justify through biological myths? A good rule of thumb is ‘Biology enables, culture forbids.’ Biology is willing to tolerate a very wide spectrum of possibilities. It’s culture that obliges people to realise some possibilities while forbidding others. Biology enables women to have children – some cultures oblige women to realise this possibility. Biology enables men to enjoy sex with one another – some cultures forbid them to realise this possibility. Culture tends to argue that it forbids only that which is unnatural. But from a biological perspective, nothing is unnatural. Whatever is possible is by definition also natural. A truly unnatural behaviour, one that goes against the laws of nature, simply cannot exist, so it would need no prohibition. No culture has ever bothered to forbid men to photosynthesise, women to run faster than the speed of light, or negatively charged electrons to be attracted to each other. In truth, our concepts ‘natural’ and unnatural’ are taken not from biology, but from Christian theology. The theological meaning of ‘natural’ is ‘in accordance with the intentions of the God who created nature’. Christian theologians argued that God created the human body, intending each limb and organ to serve a particular purpose. If we use our limbs and organs for the purpose envisioned by God, then it is a natural activity. To use them differently than God intends is unnatural. But evolution has no purpose. Organs have not evolved with a purpose, and the way they are used is in constant flux. There is not a single organ in the human body that only does the job its prototype did when it first appeared hundreds of millions of years ago. Organs evolve to perform a particular function, but once they exist, they can be adapted for other usages as well. Mouths, for example, appeared because the earliest multicellular organisms needed a way to take nutrients into their bodies. We still use our mouths for that purpose, but we also use them to kiss, speak and, if we are Rambo, to pull the pins out of hand grenades. Are any of these uses unnatural simply because our worm-like ancestors 600 million years ago didn’t do those things with their mouths?”

I remember there was a post many many years ago on fgo tumblr, I can't find it now, that was talking about the end of FGO's part 1. They were saying the story felt unique because as a gacha, the majority of character deaths are temporary; servants who die will enter the gacha and be rollable soon enough. But the characters who die in that scene are textually erased from the throne, denying the player the chance to roll them. And ever since I read that I've thought about how that scene, in creating this sense of loss in the player, was one of the few cases of a gacha story using the unique mechanics of gacha to create emotional beats that could only exist in the medium.

Introducing: Tobias, The Exile
Depiction made with the help of MaeEllen's "OC Creator" Picrew
I have yet to fully finish the main story of demo v2.0, but this guy came into my brain and wouldn't leave me be when I started playing. I'll figure out which of the LIs he's romancin' soon enough!
How My Other MC's Reacted to Him—
Tobias: Hey guys— Pseudo (Unnamed): BI-ASS!!! >8D Cain (Hound): *face palm* Lyra (Alchemist): *staring at Pseudo in utter bewilderment* Tobias: NOT WHAT I'M CALLED
(Don't worry, Tobias and Pseudo are gonna be very mature with how they solve their disagreements: getting into mild to moderate scuffles, giving each other turbo noogies, and headlocks to sort out their differences) 😇
