Project Summary
From the beginning of this project we tried to arrange our meetings at least once or twice a week and find the best way in which we could accomplish the task. We divided the work among us so that we could work independently and get feedback from the other members of the group.
One of the obstacles we had to overcome was the fact that this project will start in the future 20 years from now and it‘s controversial topic. We don’t really know what will happen in the future and how we are going to live in this period. But we accepted the challenge. We found the right solution and showed our vision of this topic. We created a design that we think is adequate and matches with the seriousness of the company.
Logo
First everyone did sketches for the logo. Our idea was to make the logo for a space airline. Our aim was to reflect the image of a respectable company that assures safety to their clients. Space travel is something new for people so we need to make them feel save and make sure they will have a quality service.
The two circles represent Earth and Mars coming together by the spaceship in front. That’s what SKYMARS is, the link between the two planets. We make it possible.
Ticket
Today the tickets don’t seem to be as important as they used to. The design is simple and covers all the basic information the passengers need to know. It will be optional to take the printed version of the ticket or a digital one in your Smartphone or tablet. It has a QR for internal use.
Business card
We went for a classic design for the business card. As we mentioned before we are looking for a reliable look for the company. The design is simple and clean. Using the logo in the back of it and in the front the basic information of the employee with the SKYMARS icon.
Letterhead
Trying to keep the same image of the business card we kept the letterhead simple also. Just with basic information of the company such as email and website URL. That’s what people are looking for now and most probably in the future. In the back we have the spacecraft of the icon across the page together with the logo. We want people to recognize us for our icon.
Safety instructions
For the safety instructions there’s an explanation of the composition of the spacecraft. The spacecraft consists of two parts. Part number one is for passengers and pilots; part number two is where all the controls are. If there’s a problem in part two, the part one is detached from part two for the passengers’ safety and it will be able to maintain itself until additional help comes. Part one immediately starts broadcast SOS signals and it is stocked with provisions and oxygen for the passengers. There are four emergency exits. These are only in cases when the spacecraft is near land, otherwise is necessary to use the whole part one for evacuation by detaching it from part two.
This is explained on page one of the safety instructions with graphics for visual aid and on page two there’s some safety instructions similar to the aircrafts as safety belts, oxygen masks, life jackets, smoking, using mobile phones, etc. The design consists in a simple composition with basic colors blue and white and small color details, green, orange and red.
Safety simulator
A new feature to experience and teach you how to react if anything goes wrong. Basically after you’ve checked-in at the airport (or at the launch site with us) you have nothing to do than just wait for your flight. So this is the new way to follow all those necessary safety procedures given by law instead of just get bored by the flight attendant. It works like this: You’ll simply sit inside the simulator, buckle up. Then you’ll see a short video about how to use oxygen masks and life vest and so on. After this explanation a real situation will be simulated, we can simulate engine failure, lack of fuel, loss of radio signal from mission control, different kinds of crashes, all of it. You have to react on the situation, put on oxygen mask if it’s necessary to and so on. If you do it right you can get a safety training proof card and for next two years you don’t have to bother to go there again. And we don’t have a flight attendant theatre before each of our flights. So the benefits are: better passenger education, and the most important – almost a real experience and also we can take off sooner after boarding.
Poster
With our poster we want you, as a future customer, to feel like “Hey, I want to be in that guys place!”. The lake brings the feeling of a classic vacation (because it’s a well known place – Lake Powell in Arizona), but in a completely new style. Even when we don’t know about a place like this on Mars yet, there is still a lot to explore. So you could be the one to find it! It’s adventure; it’s fun and chill. You can definitely feel that he’s enjoying the moment, place and view. The beer is a bit of extra fun on this poster; don’t you want to enjoy one in a place like this? The Earth in the background is a lot bigger than it would really be, so it looks like Mars is not that far to travel to! And it makes you feel safe as well. Target group of this idea are young people, single or couples, without kids.
Website
The website consists of an image of Mars over a black background, which symbolize the dark and never ending space. When you rollover the planet in the middle of website the menu comes out at the left of it. The website contains the necessary information about how our company works and what are our goals. There’s also an image gallery, safety information and booking form. At the right top you have direct access to some other important information; like companies, which work with us, and others involved with holidays in Mars. Also there are links for information about space and blogs of past passengers.

Personal poster proposals I like the idea of our company being just like the space airline, so I think our goal is to show the people that we are serious and safe, that they can trust us for their first time in the space.
