she is appallingly underrated

i can't stop thinking about the sound of justice fight. every fucking part of it is perfect. the dynamically-building music. the evocative way that the directions being barked out in a broken voice feel almost militaristic in their rhythm. the fact that susie disables her fight command if you try to use it. the fact that she stands in kris's way if you try to have them fight.

the terror in susie's voice as she's put into a situation where talking is not a feasible solution at all. the absolute reversal of who she was in chapter 1. the way it shows such a fundamental change on her part from where the story began, that she's become a susie who finally knows that it's okay to care, and is terrified of hurting the people she cares about (and always has been).

her immediately understanding that this gerson is not attacking out of malice but because of having lost control. her not wanting to hurt him OR let him hurt them because she doesn't want him to have to take responsibility for things he did while not in a right mind. the way all of this implies a sort of experience on susie's part when it comes to handling people she cares about lashing out at her and others for reasons they can't control (the fact that this is happening in susie's dark world at all implying this even further).

the implicity of justice being as righteous as it is blinding, that someone can be incredibly destructive if they're both strong and confident that what they're doing is right. the way it demonstrates the danger of the dark so much better than even the titans do, how straying too far from reality can have you finding yourself in truly terrifying situations with nothing to ground you. the titans are only an embodiment of general fear, but this is a deeply specific and personal fear. the air crackles with sound.

the way ralsei just comes in and grimly demolishes gerson right in front of susie.
