He looked across as a voice reached his ears and his eyes widened a little. While people coming back to life was never a real surprise in their life it had been years since the mass return and elijah had returned but nik hadn't but he was standing in front of him. His attitude was the same as klaus' but kol was still cautious. "Nik?" He stated simply.
He never thought about life after death, about peace or any of it. Not until he got his peace, and not until he was ripped from it not mere hours ago. Standing in the very spot that he and Elijah had taken their lives. New Orleans hadn't changed much, but Klaus didn't stay long enough to actually see if it had. First, he went to the compound, took one of the longest showers known to man, got himself fed, looked for any trace of his family before finally - making his way to the quaint town of Mystic Falls. All the while, Klaus tried to feel for the ancient witch that was either no longer there, or dormant. He couldn't tell, he'd likely ask Freya if she could. Upon coming into the town, he heard of the little bonfire that was being held. He was still hungry, death did that to you. And that seemed like easy pickings.
However, as he stepped into the area - he was met with Kol's fiery attitude. A comfort, as strange as it was. "This doesn't really seem like your scene, brother." His voice was raspy, throat feeling as if it was sandpaper.

kol chuckled at the males comment. he never said it to many people but he had feelings for the other - love. despite their similar age apperance, he felt somewhat parental over aiden. "Yeah she would... that's why I'm make sure you don;t do anything stupid and she puts you on your ass.." he started before shaking his head. "You know... you take everything so dirty, Aid..." he looked out. "I know... but if they happen to cross my path..." he shrugged and his brows raised for a moment. "you should know by now what us mikaelsons are like and what vampires in general are like... its just a good think nik isn't here... wouldn't want you trying to smart mouth him... "
"We both know this niece of yours could very well land everyone on their ass with a single thought." Though the idea of Hope telling Kol what she needed him to do, and Kol listening had Aiden amused. "I think my ass will be perfectly fine tonight but if you insist I won't complain." He laughs. The laugh died down shortly after though, a brow risen. "These are kids. High School kids, just out for a good night. Not to get violated in whatever way imaginable. Let them have their fun without becoming what you like to call a midnight snack." Aiden wasn't stupid enough to square up with an original, but he would if he had to protect someone. "If you really want to sink your teeth into someone, I'm sure the jail cells are a little overcrowded."

kol watched the male. he was really starting to grate on kols last nerve and if it hadn't been for him promising hope to be on his somewhat good behaviour the males head would be in kol's hands. but creating a scene wasn't what hope would call best behaviour... of course kol could only be pushed so much. "I'm sure if I wanted to know what mattered I would go to hope... you are seriously close to not making it to the end of the night... and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be missed" he admitted. "Those badges don't scare me... and neither do you so get that cocky attitude of yours and get lost or simmer down" Kol insisted.
"Does that make you feel better? Being there for her one time? It's too bad it wasn't for what really mattered." Kai leveled the question at the original, not even bothering to bite back his smirk. "Well most would say that's a good thing, considering I'd give shit family advise. I did kill all but two, after all." And he had no remorse for it. Well -- he had a little remorse for Jo. She tried her hardest to see the good in him, it just wasn't enough to mend the already broken bits of him. A brow lifts then, and Kai reaches into his pocket taking out his badge, flashing it to Kol. "It's really amazing what this thing can do." He muses before shoving it back into his pocket, "And seeing as there's been talk of you being a little unhinged -" Not out of the norm for Kol, "I took it upon myself to babysit you tonight. May as well get comfortable, Kol."

listening to davina, he frowned a little. "Davina... my bloodline isn't what you would call nice either..." he started. "Why didn't you tell me.. anything... I could have helped you... protect you." he stated with frown. "You didn't make me change, you made me want to change, to be a better person, for you, I love you too...." he paused "but?" he questioned. he styed wuiet after that word repeated in his head. he knew something was coming - something big, and that his life was changing - he could feel it, and in the past he would have not cared, but he did care now, and that scared him a little.
❝ ⸻ I was stuck in a prison world . I found something out about my father and because his blood runs in my veins , I was unable to leave . Turns out my father's bloodline are not so ... Nice ... ❞ for lack of better words . Yet davina simply told him . ❝ I don't think little of you , Kol . I don't want to make you feel like you had to change to be with me . Kol , I will always love you ... and I will be there for you but ... ❞ She trailed off for a moment and thought about Kai . Eyes then looked at kol . She never told him anything . About what she was up to . The wish she made was something she didn't mean when the jinni over heard her . She was looking for a way to turn without losing her magic . She was bound and stuck to a town in return . she never told him about the missing piece of her soul either ...

kol couldnt control the shake and laughed that left his head when he heard his sister. he glanced to at the beer at the mention of it before hues moved to the bourbon in the other. He reached the bottle out and nodded. "Tell me about it.." he admitted. "you don't think babysitting a bunch of pathetic teenagers getting drunk and making mistakes that they feel will ruin their lives is enough?" he questioned.
"Always so lovely, brother." Rebekah had just gotten back into town from tending to some business out of the state and upon coming back into town, she was met with the news of a curfew and a bonfire happening the very night. "Beer?" She eyed the bottle of beer in his hands before hues swept to the bourbon in the other. That, she'd rather have that. She holds out a hand, "Mind if I have a sip? It's been a long week." And she wasn't going to dive into a beer. "What's troubling you so much that you've got alcohol in each hand?"

greyson was hoping to find hope. he had just lost sight of her for a moment before being moved along by a bunch of teens surrounding him. when he managed to get free of their circle, he spotted the blonde and made his way to her. despite the years in had been since he knew them he was still somewhat nervous around the mikelsons - other than hope. "I was just wondering if you'd seen hope?" he asked.
Rebekah + @cflcstxsculs (Muse of your choice!)
Her phone chimed, signaling yet another message. "Sorry, one second." Rebekah took the device from her back pocket, because god forbid women have jean pockets big enough in the front for their phones, then she turned her phone on silent, not bothering to read the message before putting it back in her pocket. "Alright, what were you saying?"

"Well good to know I can get you to smile even if it was pathetic-" he teased. "Probably... you seemed to have your own way of getting information out of people... even if they don't want to..." he pointed out to the other and he sat down. he looked to the other. "I want to talk about you... what's going on in your life... we've not had a really catch up since I came back.." he pointed out. althought it was only just over a month he had been dead, it was long enough for things to happen.
The moon illuminated enough for Aiden to see that it was Greyson in front of him, the corners of his lips coming up into a half smile as his head tilted to the side, "Does it need to be?" Aiden asks, a brow lifting in question. Aiden wasn't one to push but if Greyson wanted to get anything off his chest, Aiden would lend a listening ear. "Or is there something you want to talk about?"

Grey parted his lips as if to speak but words were nonexistent. He soon pushed his lips back together before running his tongue over them. He looked to the floor and nodded a little. "Uh yeah... at least... I hope she is... lucky." He stated as he brought his hues back up to hopes. "Well the wolf gives me an advantage... but I've already had a few.." he admitted -plus the few he had before hand to get the courage to be around hope. It had always come naturally to him to be around her before. But since coming back, he found it more of a challenge- like he was anticipating something happening and separating them again. " well we were never able to let go completely down the bayou... had to keep them in line.." he teased before settling himself down on a log and patting beside him looking to hope.
She went to say that it used to be her sort of thing, but looking at Greyson now - blonde hair and all, it was clear that it still was. Not that she had a type, Landon was the complete opposite from Greyson. In the back of her mind, so far back, Hope knew that Greyson was describing her. Part of her wondered if they'd ever let themselves open up enough to tell each other the truth but the one thing that had always happened to Hope happened. He had died. A reminder that she would outlive him, and just about anyone she cared about. Unless she turned him, but that was always a last resort kind of thing for Hope. It wasn't as if she was out there making an army for herself. "Well, she sounds like a very lucky brunette." Hope offers with a small smile. "How many kegs do you think you could do without getting totally shitfaced?" Hope asks with a small hum. She looked back out to the party, giving a small nod as she made the comparison, "I think the bayou parties were a little more unruly than these ones." But what else can you expect from a pack of wolves?

"We were there if Hope needed us... like when she shut off her humanity.. we were there... and if I do want family advice, it wouldn't be from you.." he assured the other. He took a sip of his bourbon before opening another beer and taking a swig of it. "You know, there are plenty of people to looking out for them... you have no need to concern yourself with my family." he assured the other.
"Must be a foreign idea for you too. Remind me again... where were you when all those little nifty malivore monsters came to light? Or what about when Aurora tried to kill her? And the God? Seems to me that as soon as her parents died, the lot of you just happened to forget you even had a niece. At least my intentions with mine have been clear from the start." Kai didn't give them the hope that he was going to be that doting uncle, there for their soccer games and the like. The smirk grew on his lips as his head tilted to the side ever so slightly, "Someone has to keep an eye on the unruly Mikaelson running about." And he wasn't going to let Jenna do it, she's had her fair share of Mikaelson trouble.

Jeremy had just gotten back into town. He was starvings and the twins were always hungry and nagging him for a burger after he let slip on the cross country drive that the grill had the best burger. Ace was asleep in the stroller with the two twins stood on either side holding onto it when he spotted his sister sitting in a booth. Instructing the pair to be quiet, he made his way over and stood looking at her before softly clearing his though. "I can't believe you still come here after so long.." he teased.
elena just got off of her shift at the hospital, she just finished a fourteen hour shift. the brunette sighed, rubbing the sleep from her eyes while she took a seat at the grill. right now she didn't feel like cooking and she was starving, something she had gotten better at after she had stefanie. her doe eyes scan over the menu, waiting for the waistaff to come over and take her order. looking up from her menu when someone cleared their throat, she assumed it was the waitstaff and her brows lifted when it wasn't them. ❝ sorry, in my own world. just coming off of a crazy long shift. you can sit if you want. ❞

bonnie had been taking care of all of them when they were in school - and jeremy tried his hardest to protect bonnie too so perhaps old habits died hard. He had spotted her when she started to head away from the party and he followed. He gave her a smile as she stopped and he heard her casting a spell and his body crushed a twig under food. shit! "No i didn't... i followed you... only to make sure you didn't do something crazy and kill yourself bringing someone back to life or something.." he teased with a smile as he greeted her.
High School parties may have been her thing in High School but Bonnie could think up a million different places she'd rather be than this event. Instead of actually attending the event, Bonnie walked further into the woods until the sound of the fire and drunken laughter faded into the night. She wasn't sure if whatever it was could be actually affected by magic, but she wasn't going to take the chance. Setting up a protection spell within the permitter, the bonfire directly in the middle, Bonnie was about to leave when she heard the snap of twigs behind her. "You're a long way from the party." In a way of greeting, the witch turns to face the other, "Did you get lost?" @sanguishqsstarters

Greyson had decided to put some space between him and hope the teens at the bonfire and head on a walk to clear his head. Alcohol, partying and hope had his mind in a whirl. and just like that he heard aiden - one of the few people who would talk about and make his mind fill with hope again and how stupid he was and how everyone knew. He sighed to himself - but he wasn't unhappy to see aiden - after all he was like his brother. "Yes, I was... now I have a funny feeling clearing my thoughts is over.." he teased.
"Yeah..." Aiden listened to his friend on the other end of the phone as he went on, fingers combing through the unruly brown locks before sitting back. "Just let me know if you hear anything, I can't imagine it'll be a smooth adjustment if they're back." Once the dead started coming back, Aiden held out hope that his sister was among them but it's been thirty years so that hope has slowly been coming undone. He didn't know what he'd do if she was back either though, not with Lorcan also most likely back. "Thanks, man. Yeah, I'll talk to you later." And just as he hung up, a shadow cast over him as someone stepped into the path of the light. "Enjoying your walk?" A way of greeting as they stopped in front of him. @sanguishqsstarters

a nod of the head and a smile on his lips followed josie's words. "well you would always be beautiful to me..." he reiterated. the idea of food appealed to him and his body seemed to agree as his stomach growled almost on cue. "Uh yeah... or had a drink... but a burger and fries... that sounds like heaven..." he admitted. "only thing that would be better that food with my girl, is if our boy was with us too... does he enjoy a burger just like his daddy?" he questioned with a smile.

her brows furrowed when he apologized, shaking her head then and felt her own guilt by him taking it as his fault. there were so many things she was feeling guilt for right now. ❝ i know. i wanted to grow old and see grandkids and the whole shabang - at least theres still part of it.❞ shrugging lightly, she then looked up into his chocolate hues with a small, soft closed lips smile. ❝ we should go get you some food, it has been a really long time since you've eaten anything. we can drop this off in my class and go and get you something? the grill here is pretty damn good. ❞

the words hurt the other. of course he was going to leave and calm and come back and apologise to her. that was his plan but instead she disappeared. "no... you don't think i've replayed my words over and over every day for the last five year... wondered if you were still alive... I tried my hardest to find you... you didn't give up on me when I was dead..." he reminded her, "Do you think so little of me and my love for you that I wouldn't do the same?" he asked. "I don't want to fight with you either davina... I love you... you're the only person I've loved, you changed me for the better... and losing you broke me... and now you're back and we're arguing.."
❝ ⸻ quite the search you did and we fought the night before I disappeared . Should I remind you what was said between us ? ❞ IT'S OVER . were the last were said before she got stuck the night after in the prison world . They were fighting long before that ... But Davina didn't want to fight with kol . ❝ Look , I don't want to fight with you , kol . ❞
