She takes the kick like a fucking pro, falling down dramatically onto the ground and feigning weakness as she pulled herself back up a few moments later. "WOWZAH did you guys just SEE THAT???? A REAL, ACTUAL ASSAULT!!! LIVE!!! ON CAMERA!!!!! ON ME!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!!!" She put an oversized sleeve across her forehead and pretended as if she was going to faint. "OH EM GEE... If anyone wants to donate to help me cover my hospital bills it would be TOTALLY appreciated. But don't worry, guys!!!! I'll power through!!!! Your friendo Iono can't be defeated that easily!!!!"

"Kzzzt....." Lights on the machine dimmed slightly as Rotom let out a dejected, nervous sort of buzz, if one could decipher it. She was onto it. It wasn't really a free try. It was two tries at full price marketed as one try and a free one. Most people didn't question it, but uh oh! Rosa seemed a bit smarter than the usual, brainless commuter that played these games. (A lot of people didn't even bother talking back to it, honestly. Maybe they thought it was just some sort of pre-recorded voice emitting from the speakers? So Rotom supposed it appreciated the recognition, at least-)

Thankfully, before Rotom had to try to come up with some sort of explanation, she had talked herself into playing another time. Yippee! Goody! That made its job a whole lot easier! It was going to treat itself to a whole bunch of arcade games when the station was a little emptier. Pac-Rat wasn't going to be eating any of those digital little berries tonight! Those points were allll for Rotom.

It made the lights on the machine flash on and off in a strobe-like effect for a few moments before the game started up. Within a few moments, the machine's claw thunked against the glass without Rosa having pressed anything, the grab motion being activated before it had even been lowered enough to reach any of the prizes.

"WHOOPZZZ! GAME OVER!!! Player Rozzza, you have ONE free try remaining." Again, definitely not free. "If you run out of BP after your free try, pleazzze allow other cuzzztomerzzz to take a turn. You can zzzpend your free time riding the trainzzz to collect more BP." Corporate shill. Rotom had absolutely no strong opinions about the actual subway one way or the other. It just worked here.

“Awww maaan!!” Rosa groaned at the sound of the game over noise filling the near empty hall. The typically busting station was at a lull between morning shift and lunch where only Rosa as well as a few attendants lingered in the station. So the loud slightly cacophonous sound echoed through the hall as though only further rubbing salt in the wound that came with the loss of having the plush just within grasp. Or at least Rosa swore it was within reach. In reality she was no closer to snagging it then when she’d first tried five credits ago.

“Already?” She asked looking to the credits display screen as though the credits is what was the lie here. But it was right about her being out of credits, she’d gone through three credits now and despite the Pokemon’s machine’s insistence she was nearly there, she was no closer then when she’d started.

“Hmm… A free try is tempting. But I thought it was only 25 per play?” Prices could have gone up while she wasn’t looking. The economy WAS in shambles. Least that’s what her manager constantly said. Besides who was she to pass up a free try? And look! She was SO CLOSE! Maybe she just needed that one more try! Or… You know four more tries. Despite the annoying voice in her head telling her this was too good to be true she transfers the funds from her Xtransreciever to the Claw Machine. Deliberately ignoring that feeling that she was being tricked and grabbed the controller of the machine once more. “Alright! You’re on machiney dude! This time I’m gonna get that Clefairy plush or cry trying!”

( rotating penny in my brain waiting for their muse to come back and i think she is just the biggest online troll to her friends. and like, everyone knows its her, she doesnt even use an alt account or anything, her online presence just has this Different Energy. pennys more like, confident online. and in some ways thats great but in other ways, she will make the most scathing comments on your social media posts. arven posts about a sandwich he made and penny finds the tiniest flaw to point out and says shes gonna put it in their cringe compilation. )
