Oh yeahhh I will draw more of him!! Im just going through an artblock phase right now and i dont know when it will end :( you should draw him as well!!! Hes easier to draw than other characters who have clothes lol

Do you happen to know if in Bramble, Olle and his sister are just really small, and the creatures in the game are normal sized? Or did the Bramble curse cause the creatures to grow big? It’s something I haven’t been able to find an answer to so far. Like is Näcken a normal sized human or is he a giant?

There is no a straigh answer to that. The developers never addressed it :( so there are just theories. My theory is that when Olle and his sister went deeper in to the woods thats when they enconter a magical enviroment, and its that magic that makes some creatures and the trees very big. It seems that the magic was always there but its deep in to the Woods and the magical creatures start to disappear when you get closer to the towns. That type of magic seems to be neutral, now the Bramble curse is another type of magic. Evil magic who is trying to invade another magical enviroment. In the case of Näcken, he was a normal sized human that was turned into a giant when he got possessed by the bramble. You can see a similar case with the mountain King. He was also possessed by the bramble and is his primary host and he is….. the giant of all giants in the game. The troll who comes to feed him looks so small in comparison. And it was not because Olle became really small when he went in to the woods. When you enter in his palace you can change your clothes into the clothes of the king's dead son and it fits well, you can also see many portraits of when the king was with his son and they are normal sized. It showed that Olle and his sister are just normal sized. It was the creatures that are big.

I do indeed like Näcken. After coming across him I looked up art of him. I’m not surprised there isn’t much of him tbh. The game itself is obscure… My favorite art I’ve found of him so far is the one you drew. The 2 portraits, one showing him with short hair and the other with long hair. The arts are really good! I love his somber expressions.

If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been drawing for? Your art is pretty good. :)

Aww Thank you!!! I been drawing for 9 years!!First it was just on paper later I did it in digital on Medibang. Somber expressions has always been my thing, Its harder for me to do facial expressions, drawing Nacken with his big smile has helped me with it

Unf I love Näcken and I feel so bad for him. His backstory is amazing, even if it’s just short and simple in the game. I really would love to see a movie made on this character.

I headcanon stuff sometimes of him and the girl he liked. I think maybe she liked his violin playing. I imagine her sitting with him quietly, spending more time with him alone. And she asks him to play his violin for her. He gets a bit shy because he’s not used to someone liking his music. But he also has come to trust her more as she’s been kind to him.

And while he’s playing, she gently hugs him from behind. He gets surprised from this but also really loves it. He stops playing as she does this because he’s so overwhelmed with emotions. He can feel his heart racing, and he’s nearly on the verge of tears. Because not only has someone been so kind to him before, but also shown him love like this. This was the girl’s first time expressing feelings to Näcken. He had no idea she felt this way about him. He can’t even believe why, because he’s so used to be hated by the townspeople, that he even had come to hate himself. “She… loves… me?” He thinks to himself, all the while strongly enjoying her loving, gentle touch.

Awwww your headcannon its so good and sad. You can write it down and upload it to Ao3 if you like!!!!The creators of the game gave more details of Nacken in a post in steam. Its called "Who you’ll meet: Näcken, The Dancing Fool". Basically, he liked dancing to music when he was a kid and people bullied him for it :( He slowly became isolated and the music was his only company. I always find it really sad that the reason why he fell in love with the girl was because she was nice towards him, people fall in love for many reasons like beauty or personality but Nacken's self esteem was so low and he was so traumatized that all it took was being treated kindly for him to fall in love :""""( I also have headcannons but they are more like theories about Nacken and the game. For example, I think that the village Olle encounters after defeating Nacken, that one village that has all the Bramble flowers in it is Nacken´s town, the Bramble took a hold of it after Nacken killed the entire town in his revenge. My other theory is that Nacken is not dead. The developers once joked in Facebook that Nacken was "recovering safely" lol but apart from that is that we saw that the magic of the bramble is really powerful. For example, It resurrected people who die from the plague in that town where whe encounter Pesta so the bramble would be very capable to heal Nacken´s injury or bring him back to life and given that Olle took a while to arrive to defeat the mountain King….well, the bramble would have enough time to "heal" Nacken. Other thing that I find interesting and sad its that out of the people who succumbed to the magic of the Bramble, Nacken is the only one who is having a blast about it. The mountain King is serious all the time, the zombies on the plague villague are a mindless horde and we dont know how Kärrhäxan feels about it because she has the skull of a…goat? in her face. BUT Nacken? He is so happy playing his violin and has a big smile when hes chasing Olle. It would be low key wholesome if it wasnt for the fact hes eating people :( Its sad that the only time he is happy in his life is when he is under the influence of an evil plant

Hey could you do more in game photos of Näcken? I don’t own the game but I’ve come to really like this character. I’m curious to see more of his design. Also it seems that he closes his eyes in some segments? It’s interesting because since his segment in the game is so short and we don’t get many closeups of him, I usually have only seen him with his eyes open.

I only learned about this game (Bramble) a few days ago. I really like Näcken specifically.

Finallyyyyy someone who likes Nacken spoke to me!!!!!!Ahhhh the happiness is going to make me explodeeee!!!Yesyesyes I have lot of photos of him but I didnt want to put all of them in a single post or just post the photos everyday. I discovered Bramble a year ago but my computer frozed up when i tried to play it :( Now with my laptop is a little better but its still a battle. I downloaded a camera tool and disabled the DOF of the game so I could see him better. AND yes, he closes his eyes in some segments. When hes playing the violin for example, he looks so happy playing it LMAO probably one of the few remnants of his previous personality before being corrupted by the Bramble. Using that camera tool I have made a video on Youtube filming Nacken up close. Its called "Bramble: The Mountain King - Nacken (Demo with camera tool)".

Actually Nacken was the only reason why I became interested in this game, I loved how sadistic he was towards poor Olle and when I saw his backstory thats when it became my favorite character. Dont worry I Will upload more photos slowly.
