Mercy x Moira - "Quite desperate...."
Tumblr media
A/N: HI i uploaded this to my ao3 a few days ago and forgot to upload it here </3 also i deleted the catalyst x reader bc i thought it kinda sucked so i'm sorry if you liked that one 😭 besides that this was just some fluff that i came up with off the top of my head!
NOT PROOFREAD
“well, if it isn’t the angel herself… hard at work after hours i see?” a deep, somewhat flirtatious voice from behind angela calls out. she turns and glances up to see her colleague and partner, moira o’deorain. the taller woman was wearing casual attire, a black t-shirt, quite worn out jeans and some black vans.
angela rolled her eyes at that statement. it didn’t offend her per say, she just found the others teasing tone a bit silly. “if it isn’t the devil in disguise!” she retorts, giving the other a light nudge to the arm. this gets moira a bit amused, causing her to let out a chuckle.
“let me guess…” angela says as she brushes a bit of her platinum blonde hair from her face. “…you want to spend time with me, so i should stop working and give you attention?” she takes her glasses off, hooking them to the collar of her shirt. moira puts her slim, cold hand on the shorter womans arm and caressed it slightly which gave her a clear answer. “fine. one moment.” angela says quietly with a jokingly annoyed tone which gets a victorious hum from her lover.
as angela put some papers back into their designated files she felt arms wrap around her waist, causing her to get a bit flustered. “my dear, what are you doing?” she talks with a bit of shock as moira leans down and kisses her cheek. “am i distracting you, my beautiful angel?” she whispers into the others ear which makes angela roll her eyes yet again.
“you sure are desperate, liebling.” angela teases before standing on her toes to kiss her lovers lips gently. it only took a moment for her to pull away however. “will that hold you or do you want more? you know i’m a neat freak, i need to organize this or it’ll bug me all night.”
moira nodded slowly, resting her head against angelas shoulder. “may i continue holding you at least?” this gets a sigh from her lover, but eventually the other nods. “perfect.”
after angela finished sorting out a few medical documents with her wife clung onto her like a koala, she glanced up to moira. her pastel blue eyes met the multicolored eyes of the figure holding her. after a moment of silence and admiring each others presence, moiras long nails trailed up and down angelas back which got a shiver from her.
“dear…” angela whispers before putting a warm hand on the cheek of her lover, leaning in slowly and kissing her lips. the kiss lingered for quite a bit which allowed some thoughts to run through the head of moira, and they weren’t very positive.
after they pull away, angela looks at the other with a soft and loving glance before she realizes something was bothering her. “liebling… what’s wrong? did i do something?” she asks just above a whisper, pulling her arms away just in case it was her who made her partner feel this way.
after a bit of an uncomfortable pause, moira speaks in the same quiet tone, but with more anxiety. “angela, this is all… genuine, correct?” she says with anxiety laced into her voice. “i’ve never been so intimate before and i wish to know how you see us.”
when those words hit angelas ears, she simply looks at her lover with a caring smile and begins… “moira, my dear, you’re the most important thing in my life right now. it’s not overwatch or my medical work, i care about you.” moira nods slowly, listening to her go on before angelas lips gently pecked her cheek.
moira laughs quietly at angelas reaction, her cheeks a little pink “my angel, you’re quite the poet. but really… thank you… this means the world to me. and all the things you said, i can say about you as well.”
“i love you, okay?” angela cups the face of her partner, leaning in for another quick kiss before her hands went down to hold moiras. “lets go back home, okay? i’m getting quite tired of being in this office.”

☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎☁︎︎
You had heard he's back in town, and clearly, he hasn't changed a bit.
He was sitting there, appearing clueless, with you staring at him behind the glass. Your anger was boiling to the surface, and while it was clear to the team you were upset, they had no idea.
Your attention snapped back when a mention of your name was heard, the reason was beyond you, "That's what this is about? That bitch Y/n?" He chuckled and it made you sick. "Please, that little girl has nothing on me."
Hearing the way he said your name brought back some unfriendly memories you tried so hard to forget.
But when he muttered your name again, seeing how much it pissed Derek off, you knew you needed to do something. You have heard enough, it's not about you. It's about the 3 murdered girls.
You opened the door of the observation room to see Hotch standing there, "I'm going in there."
"That's not a good idea, you know that. He's trying to get under your skin."
"Hotch, with all due respect, I wasn't asking. Besides, I'm not the small child he last saw me as. I'm going in the there."
Hotch just quietly stood back, maybe a familiar face would get him to give them something they could use.
You walked into a familiar scene, Derek towering over the unsub shouting at the top of his voice, and the unsub pretending it's doing nothing to them.
"YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS-"
"Derek!"
With your interruption, both men stopped and looked towards you. Derek knew it was up to you, but he didn't like that idea.
And him. Oh, him.
He looked like he thought he'd finally got something he wanted if only he knew. Well, he would soon enough.
"Derek, I've got this. Go take a breather, I think Garcia has something she wanted to go over with you."
"I'm not leaving you in here with him." He stood tall in protest.
The man stood, suddenly filled with some form of faux confidence, "Yeah, little girl, you don't wanna be left here with me, unless you do?" His sadistic simper took over his face, his arm reaching out to touch you.
You grabbed his wrist and instantly snapped it back, flipping his arm behind him and then slamming him into the metal interrogation table.
"Oh, you wanna fight me now?" You pulled his arm further. "That little girl is gone. So tell me, are you big enough?"
"Fucking bitch!" His pain filled his voice and you tried to hide the joy it brought you.
"Do you feel that? Me twisting your arm until it breaks? Do you see how much stronger I've gotten?" He was struggling under you, and you were handling him with ease.
Derek was proud watching you, knowing the things that happened to you.
But the rest of the team was behind the glass watching carefully, they knew about him but not the things he'd done. But they did know your strength.
But now, he was groaning and mumbling something.
"Say that again, I didn't quite hear ya! You messed with the wrong 'bitch' in the wrong era!" You pulled him up off the table and shoved his face into the wall in a quick move, moving closer to him, "Honey, I changed so much since I last saw ya."
"I'm gonna say it, I'm proud of them." Rossi wasn't hiding his proud smile either as he watched you move him around like a rag doll.
You once again pulled him from the wall and slammed him back into the table.
"You know, maybe I will leave. I think I'd grab a cup of coffee, want some L/n?" Derek asked, knowing you definitely could handle yourself.
"I'm good, I'm awake now."
"NO NO NO! She'll kill me! You can't leave me alone with her!" He pleaded, as much as he could with his face smashed into metal.
"You know, I don't really think that's a bad thing. Do you, L/n?"
"Not at all."
He tried moving from your grasp, "No!"
"Then tell me where the girl is!" Derek slammed his hands on the table in his face, though he was still firmly pinned to the table all thanks to you, you could still feel the way he flinched.
Within the moments you walked into that room, the man finally showed how scared he actually was, realizing that now he truly is nothing.
"BOAT!"
You pull him off the table, holding him to face Derek and the team behind the mirror.
"What was that?" You asked, hearing what he said but needing more details.
"The girl. She's on a boat. Down at the marina, slip 7."
"Ah, so you do know what's good for you." Derek said as he left the room.
"No! Wait!"
A smirk came to your face, and you knew that if you weren't an active agent you'd definitely get your revenge.
In a swift move, you had him pinned to the wall by his throat.
You took a split second to look at the man that robbed you of so much.
My god did he look like shit.
Years didn't do him good, and the illegal things he tried to hide likely didn't help.
"You. You got lucky. I've got too damn much to lose if I go after you now," You were practically seething. "But know this, you are nothing. You are shit. I took all of what happened to me, and I made something of myself. I did. Me. So don't you think for one second that you ever had an effect on me." He definitely had an effect on you, years worth of effects. But he wasn't going to know that. He didn't need that.
He may have ruined the child you were, but he doesn't get to even be near the person you grew into.
You simply released him, part of the child that's still inside you wanted to do more but the other part of that child was so proud of how far you came.
You left him for the uniformed officer to take, walking out of the interrogation room to get some air or a drink, only there was something in your path.
Or rather, some people.
Half the team to be precise. David, Emily, and Reid were still in the precinct. And they just witnessed basically everything.
"I'm proud of you kiddo," Rossi spoke first, and only then did you release the breath you were holding.
"Thanks."
"I think this calls for a celebration, tonight. Your pick." He spoke with a head nod and walked out.
Reid just did his smile thing, and you knew you'd both likely have a conversation later.
But Emily, she stayed put, letting you go to her.
"You know you can let it out now, only if you want of course." She said finally as you walked up to her.
A shaky breath left you and you attempted to hide it with a faux chuckle.
She did know you the best.
"Come on, out with it. You know you can talk to me." Her damn eyebrow raise had you wanted to spill everything like always.
"I was so scared, Em." Another unstable breath came from your lips.
Emily reached up to wipe a tear you hadn't felt escape.
"God, I'd be worried if you weren't. You're only human." Her hand went to cup your cheeks, and for a second you simply looked into her eyes.
You didn't really know what to say, so you said nothing. You feared the only thing that would come out would be a sob.
"You handled that so well, and I speak for the team when I say I'm proud of you. It was hot the way you handled him." A small chuckle left you, she always knew how to get you to laugh.
"It just, brought back so many things I've tried for so long to forget." You looked to the floor with shame, ashamed it still got to you.
"Hey, look at me," She pointed your chin so you'd look at her. "Don't think that there's ever a right time to just 'get over it' because there's not. Everyone has their own timeline, and their own way of coping, that makes us human. And the fact that you didn't give in to the revenge you know you were thinking of, just shows how much you've grown."
She was right. Of course she was, when wasn't she? She knew the ins and outs of you. Every curve and every line. She knew your soul better than your body did.
"Come on, the team will finish the paperwork and we can go back to the hotel, you can shower and we'll meet them after for drinks." Your head rested against her shoulder as she put her arm around you while you both walked out of the precinct.
While you both arrived at your hotel room, the team safely got the girl from the boat, though she was a bit shaken up, she was unharmed. Physically, at least.
While the shower helped relax your tense body, it didn't help much with the resurfacing memories. You were simply disassociating at a cracked shower tile until Emily took it upon herself to be your distraction in the shower.
And of course, it certainly helped.
And later on, the team did their best to talk about pretty much anything but the case. Not like you were really upset about that honestly.
Having the people who you cared about around you, that's what helped the most. Having your love by your side and having your family around you.

Shelter from the Storm
Tumblr media
Emily Prentiss x fem!reader Warnings: past weather/storm trauma, tornadoes (nothing wild, there just is one kind of nearby), established relationship, hurt/comfort, fluff for days Word Count: 0.9k
Summary: There are tornado warnings, and you're terrified. Emily comes home and helps make it better.
You knew what the sirens meant. You’d known since you were a little girl, huddled in a closet with blankets and pillows and your mom’s arms wrapped around you. Since your dad at the storm door, clothes flapping in the wind, while your mom screamed, “Get in here! It’s coming!” You associated the sirens with the scent of fear, the sound of trains, with homes leveled to the ground–every home on the street but yours.
Heart beating rapidly, you dashed into the bathroom, throwing a quilt and blankets into the empty tub. The power flickered off, leaving you in complete darkness. You felt panic rising in your lungs, but sprinted to the bedroom to scoop up Sergio, who was hiding under the nightstand. You slammed the bathroom door shut, sat in the tub, and placed Sergio next to you, where he curled into one of the pillows. Shaking, you covered yourself with the quilt and placed a pillow over your head. You knew what to do. But you also knew that if the tornado really did hit you, none of it would matter anyway.
You weren’t a praying person, but you hoped with everything in you that Emily had made it to Quantico before the storms had gotten this bad. Or, even better, that the pilot had delayed their flight and avoided it altogether. You’d left your phone in the other room, so you couldn’t check, and you weren’t about to leave the bathtub safety cocoon you’d created.
You weren’t sure how long you sat there in the dark, your breath heavy and desperate and hot underneath the quilt and the pillows. You could still hear the claps of thunder, so powerful they shook the building. You could see the blue-white of lightning underneath the door. So you stayed hidden, uncovering your face every few minutes to take in greedy gasps of breath, each one only making your anxiety grow. Your fists were clenched so hard that there were little half-moons forming in your palms. You were exceedingly thankful for Sergio’s warm body pressed against yours.
You yelped when you heard a knock on the bathroom door, peeking an eye out from under the quilt to see Emily walk in and kneel in front of the tub, her face illuminated by a candle she set on the counter. You were equal parts relieved and infuriated.
“How you doing, honey?” she asked gently, pushing the quilt off of your head to reveal a very red, tear-stained face.
“Did you drive here in this!?” Your voice wasn’t nearly as authoritative as you wanted it to be. Really, you just sounded scared. You were shaky and weak from anxiety. “There are tornadoes, Em!”
“It’s just stormy now,” she reassured you, running her thumb along your eyebrow as she cupped your face. “No more tornadoes. I didn’t drive until I was sure they were over.”
“There could be more.” Your voice was barely more than a whisper.
“Well, why don’t we wait in bed instead of in the bathtub? Since the tornado warning’s over for now.”
A large boom of thunder shook the house and you gasped, shrinking back into the quilts and pillows.
“Come on, honey,” Emily said, taking your hand and gently pulling you to your feet. “I’ll keep you safe, I promise.”
You let Emily guide you to the bedroom, where she’d shut the blackout curtains so you couldn’t see the lightning. There were several candles lit across the room, bathing it in a warm glow. It’d be romantic if you weren’t terrified.
Emily was so soft with you, so gentle as she removed your glasses and set them on your nightstand. Gentle as she pulled the covers up over your shoulders. Gentle as she climbed into bed next to you and pulled you into her chest, covering your ears with her hands when you jumped at another peal of thunder.
“Shh,” she said over and over again, her breath warm and comforting against your forehead. “It’s okay. I know it’s scary, but you’re okay. I’m right here. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
You felt your heart rate slow down, the air return to your lungs in big, painful gulps. Adrenaline seeped out of you as if through a sieve, leaving you spent and exhausted.
Emily watched as you struggled to keep your eyelids open and smiled softly. If you could just go to sleep, you’d be fine. She ran a finger slowly across your brow bone and down the bridge of your nose, over and over, knowing it was impossible for you to keep your eyes open when she did.
“Are you trying to put me to sleep?” you accused, eyelids fluttering.
“Mmhm.”
“What if there’s another tornado?” you protested, but she could tell you were losing the fight.
“I’ve got the volume on the alerts turned all the way up, okay? I promise I will wake you up if I need to. Just go to sleep, honey. Everything’s gonna be alright.”
Her heart swelled as she watched you fight sleep and lose. Your chest rose and fell rhythmically, and she felt an aching, almost desperate love for the way your body curled toward hers, for your now limp hand that was wrapped around hers and held close to your face, so close she could feel your breathing.
She adjusted the covers once more, making sure you’d be warm but not smothered, then wrapped an arm protectively around you, planting a soft kiss on your forehead. The weather channel, Emily knew, had all but promised that the threat of tornadoes would be minimal for the rest of the night. But she also knew that if one happened to spring up, if it happened to come your way, if it happened to rip the roof off your house, to plow its way through your room, that she would not hesitate to cover your body with hers.

if ur taking requests then how about female reader being a bau member and is receiving unwanted attention from the local cops but she cant pick up on social cues very well so it’s extra stressful for her to naviagte
Then enter protective and somewhat jealous jj that tries to protect her and shows her what true love and respect is with soft softdom!jj
I really like this, but I like the idea of it more as a short then a full fic, so... here we go.
JJ Being Protective of You - (Jennifer Jareau x Fem!Autistic!Reader)
Tumblr media
Warnings: some harassing behaviour from a random male cop towards the reader; the man uses condescending pet names toward the reader; JJ goes full boss mode; use of the term L/N (as in 'Last Name') to refer to the reader; she reader uses she/her pronouns; the reader experiences a small accidental injury; pre-established relationship. Idk what else. Not proofread.
Paperwork. This is where you thrived. Much like Spencer, you loved a good paper trail.
You were currently in the back room of the police station, going through their old case files, looking at every case from the last forty years that had yet to be digitised. You were looking for previous murders that matched the signature of the killer the team was currently after, since the working theory was that the UnSub had 'taken on' the work of his father or another older figure in his life.
So you had to dig through all the files of unsolved murders and see if you could find a pattern stemming back - to see if you could find more killings that this father might have committed.
It was stuffy and dusty in the file room, but you were finding it to be the kind of work that you did best - your brain churning on all cylinders as you looked through the many files for all the markers in the killings that would have aligned with his killer. You put some files aside and closed the lid on a box, and then moved to a new stack, going to take down a box from 1973 - it was rather heavy and awkward to lift, but you could manage it.
"Oh, little lady, let me help you with that,"
Suddenly, someone appeared beside you, as if out of nowhere, and a second pair of hands began tugging on the box.
"I got it." You grunted out, tugging the box back in your direction, trying to get a better grip on it.
"Trust me, doll, someone like you shouldn't be lugging this crap around on your own." The man's voice argued, becoming slightly strained - angry?
Was he frustrated because it was too heavy for him to lift? Did he feel like he had to help because you looked weak and he was frustrated because of the social obligation?
"It's fine." You assured him, tugging on it again. But - he still wouldn't let go. "I'm stronger than I look, trust me."
That was something that Emily and Derek often joked about. You had used a shovel to break a double welded chain in order to get into a basement when a child was in danger. The police had been arguing about getting a warrant and talking about how they would need heavy duty bolt cutters to get through the chain away, and you were down there in minutes - and from then on, the team all agreed not to mess with you. Especially not in an emergency.
"Sweetie, just let go of it-"
His grip slipped off the box, and it went flying in the opposite direction then, and one of the sharp corners smacked you on the head - a piercing pain went through your whole forehead and and papers came flying out of the box, spilling across the floor and fluttering everywhere.
"Oh my god, ow!" You exclaimed loudly, stepping backward, raising a hand to your forehead toward the throbbing pain. You were alarmed when you felt wetness, and you quickly drew your fingers back and saw blood.
"Oh, goodness. I'm sorry, darlin'." The man appeared in front of you, and soon, completely unprompted, he put his hands on both of your cheeks, trying to lift your head to better inspect the cut. "See, that's why you shouldn't-"
"Don't touch me!" You screamed, reaching up inside of his forearms to shove his hands off you. Your skin was crawling with a terrible, icky itch where his hands had been touching you.
He became slack-jawed with shock at this.
"There's no need to shout." He chuckled. "Calm down."
"Ugh, no!" You shouted back.
You were suddenly feeling terribly trapped in the small, stuffy, dusty room, and though you knew that the papers needed to be cleaned up and you needed to finish your fishing expedition for the trail of murders - you had to leave. You needed air.
You needed JJ.
You shoved past the man and your feet carried you as fast as you could go, frantically looking for that head of blonde hair.
"Listen, babydoll, just calm down-"
"Woah, woah, her name is not babydoll."
That voice. Your hero.
You blinked past a haze if tears you hadn't even noticed was forming, and saw the pale blue shirt and blonde hair that you knew was her - you ran to stand behind her, grabbing her hand tightly, which she gripped back, grounding you, letting you know that she was right there.
"I'm not sure what kind of slack operation you people run around here, but we are professionals. You are going to refer to her by her full title, Special Agent L/N - or you won't talk to her at all. You won't even look at her. Do you understand me?" JJ barked at him.
The pure authority dripping from her voice made you feel so utterly safe.
"Listen, m'am, I'm not sure-"
"It's not 'm'am', it's Agent." JJ corrected him, now straining through her teeth, absolutely seething. "We are here representing the FBI, trying to catch a very dangerous man to help keep your town safe. We're not just little secretaries skittering around to get you your coffee and clean up after you. Just because we're women, we're not here to wipe your ass!"
You heard a chuckle from behind you, and you thought it was Emily's voice. This was followed by a low whistle - probably Derek.
"Is that clear?" JJ finished off, daring the man to talk back to her.
The man sighed and turned around to leave, finally defeated. This is when JJ turned to you.
"Are you okay?" She asked, her voice much softer now. "Oh my god, what happened to your head?"
"There was... a box..." You mumbled quietly, still feeling shaken up.
"He hit you with a box?" JJ snapped, looking back in the direction he had walked off.
"JJ, please." You begged, quietly, squeezing her hand, directing her attention back to you.
She knew what her priority was right now.
"Come on,"
JJ walked you to the bathroom, and as she was cleaning up the cut with a damp paper towel, she was still huffing hard through her nose, the anger still pumping through her.
"I'm going to find that guy's supervisor, I'm going to put in a report about him, I'm going to-"
"It's okay, JJ." You said, reaching out to run a gentle hand along her lower back. "I'm pretty sure he's not gonna come near me again after what you said."
She let out a snort of laughter, and half her mouth upturned in a smile. You both knew that she could be incredibly intimidating despite her looks, and she always protected you - just one of the many things that had attracted you to her in the first place.
"Yeah, well... nobody comes near my girl and gets away with it."

Southern
Tumblr media
pairing: jennifer jareau x fem reader
category: fluff
warnings: none
word count: 826
summary: you're jj's girlfriend from texas and you're meeting her team for the first time
a/n: hiiii i missed you 🫶🏼 i love you too and i hope you're doing ok! also...i kinda wanna write a part 2 with smut...let me know if you're up for that but i'm gonna assume it's a yes
"Are ya sure they'll like me?" I put my hands on my hips while JJ kissed my cheek.
"Of course they'll like you baby. You're amazing." I bit my lip and fixed my flannel a bit. The first three buttons were undone and the bottom of the shirt was tucked into my jean shorts. "Let's just go, ok?"
"Ok." I sighed as she grabbed my hand, pulling me into her friends apartment.
"Hey everyone! This is my girlfriend...y/n." JJ introduced me with an arm around my waist, keeping me close.
"Hi!" They all said almost at the same time.
"Hey y'all!" I turned to JJ with a rosy blush. "Now what do I do? This feels awkward." I leaned into her.
"That's because Derek is staring at your boobs."
"Don't get yourself all tore up about it. I know my assets." I pecked her lips, feeling her smiling into the kiss.
"Where are you from?" I pulled away from the kiss and looked towards a raven haired lady who had asked the question.
"Texas. Do y'all have any Coke?"
"Mhm. Right over here hon." A happy blonde lady led me over to the kitchen. I saw a bunch of soda cans sitting on the table so I picked up a Sprite. "I thought you wanted a Coke."
"Yeah. Coke. Soda is Coke where I'm from." I explained, taking a sip. "I've never been to the north."
"You haven't?" She crinkled her nose while smiling and I almost jumped when I felt a pair of arms snake around my waist but then relaxed when I realized it was JJ.
"If it wasn't for this girl I would still be down south." I took another sip of my soda, leaning back into my girl.
"She likes it up here." JJ kissed my cheek. "We're gonna go up to Boston next weekend."
"Yeah?" Penelope sat down on the couch and I soon realized everyone else had made their way into the room.
"Hey y/n. I'm Spence. It's nice to meet you." I shook hands with a tall lanky brunette. I had to tilt my head up to meet his eyes.
"I'm Derek. But people call me Morgan." I shook his hand and smiled. So this was the guy that was staring at my boobs, and he still was. I might as well put on a little show for him. I unbuttoned my shirt a bit further before looking back at JJ. She blushed before pulling me down onto a chair so I could sit on her lap.
"Jareau, I didn't know cowgirls were your kind of thing." Morgan smirked before sitting down next to Penelope. I felt a twang of insecurity in my chest but I pushed it away, wrapping my arms around JJ's shoulders and holding her close. I was big on PDA and when I found out JJ's love language was physical touch I used it as much as I could, wanting to make her feel loved.
"Well I've never met someone as special as her. So she's definitely my thing." She gently caressed my waist with her thumb.
"So what's it like down in Texas?" Morgan imitated my accent.
"There's a lot of rednecks and shotguns down there." I said back with my souther sass. JJ squeezed my waist, telling me to back down a bit but I couldn't help it. Being from the south and dealing with jackasses everyday had sort of become a part of my personality. I crossed my legs on her lap, staring Morgan down.
"How long have you two been together?" Emily asked.
"Nine months." JJ and I said at the same time.
"Nine months...you guys met on our case in Texas?" Emily smiled as she put the pieces together.
"I met her at a bar, she was kicking them out after a fight."
"They got in a big hissy fit over who the girl was looking at." I rolled my eyes. "Men can be so fragile." JJ kissed my jaw, making me blush. I wasn't one to blush but I was a sucker for jaw kisses.
"Let's get out of here." She whispered.
"What?"
"You've met them good enough, let's go." She dragged me outside and the door was barely closed before she had me pushed against the wall, kissing me passionately. "You were so hot back there."
"Hey ladies-" I heard an unfamiliar voice and froze. JJ backed off of my slowly but leaned in to cover my chest. "Sorry...I was just wondering if you wanted some cupcakes?" It was Penelope.
"Yeah Pen, thanks." JJ took the plate from her and waited for her to leave before making out with me again.
"Jayje, not in the hallway, sugar." I pushed her away a bit.
"You're gonna be the death of me." She groaned against my lips before kissing all over my face.
"Well you love me."
"You're right. I love you so much."
"I love you more."

Jealous emily prentiss, no smut
jealous emily prentiss can have me any day of the week dear anon. i done some headcanons for this, i hope that’s okay but feel free to send in something else if this isn’t what you were looking for <3
i think emily’s a really jealous person but she’s very good at keeping a lid on it. it definitely stems from a place of love, not possessiveness— she’s seen a lot in her line of work and that naturally makes her more protective over you.
she’s absolutely the silent but deadly type. like if someone’s hitting on you, she’s glaring daggers across the bar and mentioning that she’s an fbi agent if they refuse to take the hint
emily knows you would never do anything to betray her trust so naturally, she gets really upset when she finds herself in a jealous rage. she would try to make it up to you with kisses and longer kisses in bed.
if you point out that she’s jealous, she’ll scoff and sip her drink but when you (lovingly) tease her for it, she will blush and hide your face in the crook of your neck <3

summary: you save jj from askari and bring her home
I rushed down the stairs, my feet weren't moving fast enough. "Y/n slow down! You're no use to JJ if you're hurt!" Emily scolded.
"You don't understand Em, that's JJ. That's the love of my life, ok?" I jumped down the last five steps, every second counts. I needed to get there.
"Y/n wait!" I ignored everyone as soon as I saw JJ lying down on the floor, blood on her face and shivering.
"Oh honey." I knelt down next to her and caressed her face.
"You're here."
"I'm here honey...I'm here."
"I'm cold." Her teeth were chattering and I didn't hesitate to take off my jacket, helping her up slowly and wrapping it around her. Her shirt lifted up slightly in the process and I saw the electrical burns from the torture.
"It's ok baby. I've got you. We're gonna get you out of here, ok? You're safe now. I've got you." I kissed her forehead a few times before picking her up bridal style and walking her outside. "I'm here honey, I'm here."
"I wanna go home." She whispered. "I wanna see Henry."
"I know baby. You'll be home soon, ok? We've gotta get you to the hospital first though. We've gotta make sure you're ok." I held her in my arms while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. "It's ok now, yeah? You're safe baby." She nodded weakly and reached up to wrap her arms around my neck. "I've got you hon, you're gonna be ok." I promised her. "I've got you, you're safe now."
"It hurts."
"I know baby I know." I kissed her forehead again. "The ambulance is just a few minutes out. Can you hold on until then?" I was praying that she could, she gave me a small nod and I felt a wave of relief wash over me. "What did he do to you?" I asked gently, knowing that it would be a touchy subject for her.
"He electrocuted me." She whispered, clenching her jaw to keep her teeth from chattering. "It...it hurt. Still hurts." I felt her arms tense up. "Water boarded me." She added, looking up at me through her lashes. "I couldn't breathe."
"It's over now, it's ok." I tried to comfort her but there wasn't a lot I could do. "You're safe. That's never going to happen to you again, ok? I bet my life on that." She nodded and I let out a sigh of relief as I finally heard the ambulance sirens. "The ambulance is almost here, ok? Just hang on a little bit longer."
"Y/n." She spoke so quietly I could barely hear her voice. She pulled me closer by pulling my neck down. "I want to see Henry."
"I know honey, you'll see him soon. He's gonna visit you at the hospital, ok? It's gonna be ok."
"Is he ok?"
"He's fine Jayje. He misses you so much and he was worried sick about you but he's ok." I kissed her forehead again. "He's really excited to see you." My heart skipped a beat as I saw her smile again. "He really wants to see you again."
"He does?" I nodded and her face fell again. "I missed you too. I thought about you every minute of every day-" She cut herself off as the ambulance pulled up. I walked her over to the vehicle and handed her to the paramedics, pushing past them to get into it. I didn't care what they said, I was going to ride with her to the hospital. She was my wife I wasn't leaving her.
"Ma'am?" I looked up as a paramedic sat down right next to me. I had to tear my eyes away from JJ who was now asleep and had paramedics tending to her. My leg was bouncing up and down anxiously. "She's gonna be ok." I nodded, feeling myself relax a bit.
"She's gonna be ok." I had to repeat it to myself in my head a million times before it really sank in. I relaxed every muscle in my body, finally realizing that they were tensed up from anxiety. It was going to be ok, it had to be.

I Still Love You

summary: you join the bau and realize that your ex that you're still not over also works there
I walked through the doors of the BAU with a nervous smile on my face. It was my first day and I wanted to make a good impression. I was supposed to be taking over the media liaison job for someone so now I just had to go and figure out who that was. I looked around until I saw a friendly looking blonde woman. "Hey! I'm uh, I'm new here, I'm the new media liaison I was wondering if you could point me to where I'm supposed to go."
"Of course!" She said enthusiastically. "I'm Penelope Garcia by the way, most people just call me Garcia."
"I'm y/n y/l/n." I reached out to shake her hand but she just pulled me into a hug. Oh. So that's how they do things around here, maybe I didn't have to be nervous.
"JJ is waiting for you in there to train you a bit." My heart stopped. JJ? I looked inside the office and there she was. Jennifer Jareau. I couldn't speak.
"Is something wrong?" JJ asked with a bit of attitude once Garcia left.
"No I uh, I just didn't realize that you worked here is all." I put down my small box of things on the desk and tried to avoid her gaze.
"Yeah well I do. So get used to seeing me." I gave her a small nod and started unpacking my things. "You still wear the ring?" She asked quietly after a few moments. I looked down at my left hand and saw that I was wearing the promise ring she had gotten me six months ago when we were still happy and together.
"Yeah I...I do." I wasn't going to take it off in front of her, I didn't want to give her the satisfaction.
"Oh." That was the only thing she said before she actually started showing me how the job worked.
Three weeks had passed and it was awkward. It honestly just hurt. Someone I used to know so well is now basically a stranger and I want to know her again. I still loved her. She was a profiler now there's no way she didn't know it.
I took a deep breath and dried my tears off in the bathroom. It had been 4 months, she had moved on, and I was going to have to live with being in love with her and seeing her not even give a shit about me. I let out a choked sob and covered my mouth, my heart stopping when I heard the door open.
"Hey." It was JJ, I could recognize that voice anywhere. "What's wrong?" She sounded sincere for the first time in three weeks.
"It's nothing." I wiped the fresh tears away and leaned against the sink.
"It's obviously something. Why are you crying?" She came up next to me and leaned close to me, trying to get me to look at her.
"It's just the case." I lied.
"Oh come on. That's just insulting. I was in a relationship with you for a year and I'm a profiler. You really think I can't see through you?"
"Why do you even care?" My voice sounded weak as I turned to look at her, my tear stained face making her eyes soften even more. "I've been working here for three weeks and you couldn't care less about me. You've never shown any interest in talking to me and now you do? I'm sorry Jayje but I don't buy it." I winced as the nickname slipped past my lips.
"You think I don't care about you?" Her voice was so quiet I could barely hear it. I turned back to my hands and looked down. "Hey, look at me." She asked softly. "You really think I don't care about you?"
"I don't understand why you would."
"I still love you." There was no hesitation in her words. "I've always loved you. I've loved you since I've met you."
"Then why'd you go? Why'd you leave me JJ." She stayed quiet. "I need an answer JJ."
"I...I got scared." I could tell she was telling the truth by the way her voice wavered. "I love you so much and my job is so dangerous and I thought they would hurt you-" I cut her off with a kiss.
"I love you." My lips quivered as I held back tears. "I love you so much." She wiped away my tears and pulled me in for a tight hug. "I missed you so much." I sobbed into her neck so she brought one hand up to cradle the back of my head.
"I missed you too baby I missed you so much." She kissed the top of my head. "But it's ok, I'm here now, I'm here." She kissed my temple over and over again until I stopped crying.
"You're never going to leave me again. Ever." I looked up at her with stern but tearful eyes. She kissed my forehead and nodded, hugging me even closer.
"I won't leave you again. I promise."

The Surprise (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Emily Prentiss x fem!reader Warnings: mentions of sex, some explicit language, let me know if I need to add anything please! Word Count: 1.3k
Summary: Your life with Emily takes an unexpected turn when she steps in as Unit Chief of the BAU. It takes you about a month to pack up you and Emily's London flat and meet her in D.C. What she doesn't know is that you've brought back a surprise.
You collapsed into bed next to Emily, huffing and spent from a day of directing movers and unpacking boxes.
"You alright?" she asked, leaning over you to push your hair out of your face.
"Yeah," you breathed, closing your eyes. "Just tired."
"I am so–" She kissed your forehead. "Glad." Your cheek. "You're here." She pressed her lips into yours and you felt your whole body relax.
She kissed you hungrily, passionately, as if it'd been weeks and, well, you guessed it had. She started moving down your neck, and you groaned.
"Emily..."
"Mmhm?"
"I'm too tired for this."
"Even if you didn't have to do anything?" she said, her eyebrows raised.
You sighed, caressing her face. "You're very tempting, but I feel sweaty and gross and jet lag is kicking my ass. Tomorrow?"
"Of course," she said, planting one more kiss on your lips.
It was no secret in your relationship that, of the two of you, Emily had the higher sex drive. But she was always respectful, always made sure that you really wanted it. And if you didn't, she never, ever made you feel bad. It was one of the many reasons you loved her. And you'd both discovered that it only made the next time better.
You smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Snuggles are okay, though."
"Just okay!?" she said, teasing you. She lay down and pulled you into her, and you rested your head on her chest, breathing deeply.
"More than okay," you whispered. "The best."
"I missed you so much," Emily said, placing a kiss on your forehead, and tracing the skin on your back underneath your shirt.
"I missed you, too."
After a few minutes, Emily spoke again, her voice quiet and somber.
"Thank you," she said.
"For what?"
"Uprooting yourself for me. Again."
You tilted your head to look at her. "I'd do it ten more times."
She held you just a little tighter after that.
"Oh!" you exclaimed suddenly, launching yourself out of her arms. "I forgot! I got you something."
"Oh, yeah?"
You pulled a folded sheet of paper out of your backpack and handed it to her, smiling mischievously. You crawled back into bed, sitting crosslegged as Emily propped herself up on her elbow to read what was on the page.
"Wow," she remarked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "A blood test. How did you know?"
You shoved her. "Just read it, you dork."
Her eyes moved back and forth over the page. "HCG markers? Honey, you know I don't know what any of this means, right?"
You waited, holding your breath, nearly bursting with excitement.
"Gestationa–" Emily stuttered to a stop, her eyes growing wide. She turned quickly toward you. "Y/N, are you pregnant!?"
You nodded, beaming, your face flushed.
Emily's eyes were filling with tears, and you grabbed one of her hands in yours.
"No, you're not," she argued, fighting against hope as you nodded and nodded. "No, they said it didn't work. I called and talked the doctor myself."
You gasped. "We'll circle back around to the fact that you didn't trust what I told you about my IVF results later, but I don't want to mar our beautiful moment here."
"Y/N!" Emily exclaimed, looking at you, desperately hopeful and desperately scared at the same time. "It was negative...""
"It was a false negative," you told her, nearly giddy with the information. "I had them run it three times last week. It was positive every time."
A few tears dripped down Emily's cheeks and she sniffed, brushing them away and sitting up to grasp your face in her hands.
"You're pregnant," she said again, as if she still couldn't quite believe it.
"Yes." And the grin that broke out on Emily's face–giddy and hopeful and brimming with excitement–was the most beautiful her face had ever been to you.
"We're having a baby!"
"We're having a baby," you confirmed before she pressed her lips to yours, wrapping her arms around your neck.
She kissed the spot behind your ear, your cheek, the corner of your mouth. She kissed the bottom of your chin, your collarbone, then lifted up your shirt, laying her hands gently on your stomach and planting a kiss right in the middle.
"We're having a baby," she repeated, quietly, as if to the little clump of cells that would become your child.
And suddenly it was like a switch had been flipped in Emily, as if she'd moved from shock and disbelief to pure, unadulterated excitement.
"How big do you think he is right now!?" she asked, voice and eyes bright as she pressed her face into your stomach. She cut you off before you could say anything.
"Actually, hang on." She grabbed the sheet of paper from beside her and looked it over studiously, then started scrolling on her phone.
"So according to this, you're at six weeks," she observed.
"Mmhm," you confirmed, leaning back into the pillow and running your fingers through Emily's hair. "The due date's September 19."
Emily squealed. "Oh, honey, this says his little heart is developing!"
"Or her," you argued, but you were grinning ear to ear watching Emily. She was giddy, elated, happier than you'd ever seen her, and she was pretty damn happy with you. You pictured her next to you on the bed, so soon, cradling a baby. Your baby. Yours and hers. The thought gave you butterflies.
"And his little arms and legs and everything are starting to grow! Look at him, Y/N!" she continued, lifting her phone to show you what was essentially a concentrated cluster of organic matter. "He looks like a little shrimp!"
"Or she! Or they, we don't know!" you repeated, more emphatically this time.
"He's a boy, at least for now," Emily decided. She was so nonchalant, so sure about it, that it annoyed the hell out of you.
You scoffed. "How would you know that? You've known about the baby for maybe ten minutes."
She shrugged. "I'm a profiler. I know these things."
You scowled at her, incredulous. "You profiled our six-week-old fetus?"
"Uh-huh."
"Sure you did."
But Emily had already moved on. "He's the size of a lentil!"
You sighed, but you were happy at heart. Happier than you'd been in a long time. You were home with Emily. Back in the States. And there was a little tiny human coming soon.
"Oh, babe, this says morning sickness happens around now," Emily read, absentmindedly stroking your thigh. "Are you having that?"
"Not yet..."
"That's good." She kept reading. "What about... sore breasts?"
"Yes. So be gentle tomorrow please."
Emily grinned like an idiot and kept scrolling.
"Mood swings? Yes," she said.
"Hey!" you exclaimed, smacking her over the head with a pillow.
"Not in a bad way! It just... makes more sense now."
You hated yourself for it, but at that moment, tears flooded your eyes. Damn hormones.
"It's not my fault, Em!" you blubbered. Alarmed by your outburst, she threw her phone to the side and quickly moved to wrap you in her arms. "I just have a lot of feelings right now. And I'm sorry I'm so moody, but you know what? At least your body isn't the Grand Central Station of hormones!"
"Okay," Emily soothed, pulling you close and wiping tears from your cheeks. "Oh, baby, that's a lot of feelings. Just let it out."
You shook and cried, and you were sure you looked absolutely pitiful. You couldn't remember feeling anything so strongly before in your life. You hated it.
"I can't stop crying all the time. I cried with the movers. I cried on the plane, even, and the flight attendant came over to ask if I was okay. I hate crying, Em! And I hate talking to strangers!"
"I know you do," she said, smoothing your hair. "But you know what? I'm gonna be right here with you, okay? I'll talk to all the strangers. And you can cry all you need to."
You hiccuped a bit and leaned into her.
"And soon," she said, slipping a hand under your shirt to place it over your stomach. "There'll be a little tiny us here, and it'll all be worth it."
You exhaled deeply and pressed your face into her chest. "You better do whatever I want for the next eight months."
She chuckled. "I'll do my best, anyway. For you and the little guy."
"Or girl."
"Guy," she said to herself, so quietly you knew you weren't meant to hear it. You smiled anyway.

It was your day off at the BAU so when JJ and Hotch asked you to babysit Jack and Henry you were completely up for it, you knew your children Olivia and Lily would also be excited for Jack and Henry to come over to play with them for a while too.
You'd been in a relationship with Emily Prentiss for about 9 years, you were so in love with Emily and when Emily asked you 5 years ago if you wanted to adopt a one year old Lily and a newborn baby called Olivia you fell more and more in love with her, since you were very young you wanted to become a mother, and the fact that you got to do that and marry Emily Prentiss, nothing was better.
"Hey guys, so Jack and Henry are coming over today, are you guys up for that?" you asked them both excitedly, Lily jumped out of bed and nodded frantically and hugged you, Olivia on the other hand nodded and curled up on her other side facing the wall "honey go and get ready while I talk to Liv okay
"Okay mama" she smiled and hugged you again as you hugged her back and kissed her head and excused her by gently pushing her back out of the door.
"Hey Liv" you sat down on the bed next to Olivia, putting a hand out to rub her back.
"Where's mommy?" she asked looking for Emily.
"Mommy's gone to work baby, remember? she'll be back later tonight okay?" you reminded as you pressed a kiss to her forehead, you felt her sweat on her forehead, and her trying to cover a cough, you checked her head to find out she has a temperature.
"I want mommy" the five year old whined.
"I know baby" you cooed "I can phone her and you can talk to her if you like? we'll have to see if she's not busy though" you reminded as you swept her damp hair out of her face before pressing another kiss on her forehead.
You sent Emily a quick text to see if she was busy and if she was okay to talk to Olivia for a second which she was more than happy to do, as soon as Emily was on the phone you put the phone on speaker, also wanting to here your wife's voice, Lily came racing in and crashed on you before you both landed on the bed.
"Hi" Olivia managed to get out.
"Hi sweet girl? are you okay?" Emily spoke softly.
"Miss you mommy" Liv whispered.
"I miss you too baby, are you excited Jack and Henry are coming over later? Mama text me to let me know" Emily affirmed.
"Mhmm" Liv whispered before slumping back into her pillow "home" she winced.
"I'm excited mommy" Lily spoke up.
"Hi Lily" Emily said excitedly "how are you honey?"
"I'm good I'm allllll ready" she laughed and did a twirl even though Emily couldn't see her.
"I bet you look like the most beautiful girl in the world baby" Emily praised as Lily nodded making you laugh slightly "mama's going to take you off speaker for a second okay honey, I need to talk to her about something that doesn't require children's ears okay" Emily asked.
"Okay mommy" Lily smiled as she left the room, you ran your fingers through Liv's hair while you were speaking to Emily.
"What's up with Liv? she doesn't sound herself" Emily worried, you could already tell that Emily was biting her nails with anxiety.
"Emily, Liv is fine she just has a little temperature, I'll dose her up on some medicine and I'll let Aaron and JJ know, I can still babysit them but I'll just let them know just in case" your hands still running through your baby's hair.
"Okay honey, listen I gotta go but if the kids or you need to call me don't hesitate to ring me okay, especially if something happens alright?" Emily adamantly asked into the phone.
"Alright I love you so much Em, have a good day at work honey" you smiled into the phone.
"I love you too, so much" Emily said before she hung up.
You pressed a quick kiss to Liv's head before ringing JJ
"Hey you, is everything okay?" JJ asked inquisitively.
"Everything's good but listen Liv has woken up with a temperature she's pretty much wiped out so I think she's gonna have a sick day, I'm still okay to babysit everyone but I just wanted to warn you beforehand that Liv is sick"
"Oh no, I mean if you could still do that, that would be great but if you want to pull out I completely understand why" JJ said.
"No I can manage it I just didn't want you to come over and not know that's all" you smiled.
"I get it, is 9am still okay?" JJ asked.
You looked at your watch which presented itself at 7:37am "absolutely no worries, can you also pass this message onto Hotch as well?"
"I will do that ASAP and thank you again for this" JJ sighed contently.
"Thank you and it's again, no problem" you smiled into the phone.
You dosed Liv up on some medicine and you could tell she was feeling a lot better she was just really tired.
"Baby, get some rest" you said to a sleepy Olivia "the boys are coming over in about an hour so me and Lils are going to get ready for them but if you need anything at all call me and if you want to call mommy you can okay? just call me and you can take my phone alright?" you smiled.
"Love you mama" she smiled in her sleep.
"I love you too baby"
You glanced over her again as you leaned against the doorframe.
"Is Liv okay mama?" Lily asked looking up at you and then back at Olivia as she hugged your waist.
Kissing her head you leaned down to her level and grabbed her hands "your sister is more than okay" you smiled at her "do you remember a few weeks ago when you were sick but you were fine?" you took your hand out of hers to place a brown curly strand of her behind her ears, she looked so much like Emily and Olivia looked so much like you, even though they were adopted you could've sworn that you gave birth to them, you and Emily loved them with all your heart, so when they were sick or sad it pained you to see them like this.
"I remember" Lily nodded sheepishly as she looked at the floor
"Just like that" you smiled
"Lily I promise you, Liv is okay? she's just a little tired right now" you grabbed both of her hands again.
"Okay mama" Lily curved her lips into a slight smile again, taking it in that Olivia will be fine.
"Lily?" you questioned as she was about to run off and play.
"Yeah?" she turned around quickly and brushed her hair out of her way with the back of her hand.
"Mommy and I love you and Olivia so so so much, you know that right?" you smiled, still crouching down "you and Olivia are the best things that have ever happened to me"
Lily's eyes widened "but what about mommy?"
Her adamant tone made you giggle a little bit "of course I love mommy too silly" Lily visibly relaxed "come on I need a big girl's help" you pressed a kiss on to her forehead, you glanced at Olivia to make sure that she was still sleeping before shutting her door to leave her some privacy but leaving it slightly open just in case.
"So, what are you gonna do with the boys?" you asked her as you and Lily were both on the couch, Lily was fixated on the disney film that was on the TV as you were looking at her, brushing your hand through her curls.
"Ummmm" Lily was unsure of how to explain her answer "We're gonna watch some movies, play some games and maybe go to the park" Lily and you both laughed, she definitely got her stubbornness from Emily and you absolutely were not complaining.
10 minutes later, you heard a small knock on your door "Oh Oh Ooh the boys are here mama" Lily said excitedly.
You followed Lily to the door, JJ stood at the back and Henry and Jack were in the front.
"Hi Lily, how are you doing?" JJ smiled as she hugged her
"I'm okay thank you JJ" Lily looked at the floor, Lily being more shy and reserved but also incredibly stubborn like someone else you know.
"Boys come in it's freezing out there" you smiled as they rushed in, they made a beeline for the couch.
"Finding Nemo" Jack sighed contently "Nice" he exclaimed.
"How's Liv doing?" JJ asked.
"I checked on her about 20 minutes ago and she's still out like a light, are you okay while I go check on her again for a second?" you pleaded.
"Yeah for sure" JJ squeezed your am "go" she jerked her head to her.
You smiled and silently thanked her as you made your way up to Olivia's room.
You knocked lightly "Hi sweet girl, how are you feeling?" you cooed as you walked over, when she didn't answer and you saw her peacefully sleeping you sighed a little bit "Jack and Henry are here? JJ's downstairs too"
"JJ's here?" she shot up suddenly feeling so much better like her temperature had gone away.
Your eyes widened the same time hers did "You wanna go see Auntie JJ?"
Olivia frantically nodded "alright let's get ready"
10 minutes later an excited Olivia came rushing into the room "Auntie JJ" she crashed into her.
"Oooh Hi Liv" JJ said as she picked up Liv in her arms.
"Hi JJ" she smiled again.
"Mama told me that you weren't feeling well" JJ looked concerned as she brushed Liv's hair out of her face.
"That was this morninggg" Liv exaggerated, making you all laugh.
"Glad you're feeling better" JJ smiled.
"Me too" you said as you kissed her head.
"You wanna go play with Henry and Jack?" you smiled.
"YEAH" Liv shouted before wriggling out of JJ's arms.
"They love you so much" you gently nudged your body into JJ's arm "they would literally get out of bed with a temperature for you" you and JJ both laughed.
"I'm just glad she's doing okay" JJ sighed, both of you looking over at Liv playing with Henry while Jack and Lily watch the rest of Finding Nemo "you sure, you're okay with these 4?" JJ smiled, guilt creeping on her face.
"I can handle it Jayje don't worry" you gave her a reassuring smile "I got this"
"Thank you again" JJ smiled as she grabbed her coat off the coat hanger next to her.
"I'll see you later"
"Alright" you closed the door and smiled "what does everyone wanna do today?"
"Finding Nemo's almost over" Henry pouted
"We can watch Up later" Lily stated as she didn't look away from the TV.
"Okay, are you guys okay here for a quick second while I make a phone call? Jack as you're the oldest you're in charge"
Everyone nodded in agreement as you made your way to the kitchen "Hey Em" you started.
"Hey honey, how's everyone? How's Liv's temperature?" she worried.
"Jay came over-" you started.
"And she ran up to her and now she's feeling miraculously better cause auntie JJ hugged her" Emily laughed.
"Yup" you agreed, this happened every single time Liv or Lily were sick, JJ would come over and then they would be "miraculously fine" like JJ was some sort of prophet.
"I'm glad she's feeling better, how's everyone else" Emily asked.
"Everyone's good" You smiled as you leaned against the door as you had a clear view of all the kids playing together in a content silence.
"I'll be back around 5 you sure you got this?" Emily worried.
"Emily"
"I know I know" she started "ring me if you need anything"
"I will, I love you"
The rest of the day went well, you took them to the park, there was a lake and you decided to take them all on a picnic, them all promising to be good if they could get ice cream and they could watch some more disney movies when they came home which wasn't a bad deal.
When they came home everyone was curled up on the couch watching Tangled, Jack and Henry were under one blanket, Lily was curled up to your side and Liv was curled up on your lap sleeping, occasionally you were brushing her hair and brushing lightly over Lily's arm. This was perfect, this was exactly what you wanted in your future and you got it.
An hour into the next film JJ and Emily walked in to your house together, Jack and Henry were careful as to not to wake Liv.
"Hey honey" Emily whispered in your hair as she kissed your head not to wake up Olivia.
"Hi mommy" Lily turned around and stood up on the couch as she jumped over into Emily's arms.
"I missed you guys today" Emily said to everyone but looked at Lily.
"Tough case?" you craned your head to Emily and she nodded.
"Kids" JJ said what Emily didn't want to.
"Oh I'm sorry" you places Liv down on the couch with a pillow underneath her head and draped a blanket over her as you walked up to your wife.
"I'm so sorry about that honey" you cupped her face and kissed her gently on her lips and then kissing Lily on her head.
"Thank you again for today, it means so much" JJ replied as Jack and Henry stood next to her.
"Thank you Y/N" Jack and Henry spoke at the same time.
"Anytime boys you know this" you smiled "they've been great" you spoke to JJ "’Ill be back in work tomorrow so I'll see you then" you hugged JJ.
"See you tomorrow, see you Em" she smiled as she led Jack and Henry out.
"Bye" Lily whispered loudly not to wake up Liv.
"Bye honey" JJ turned around and blew a kiss to Lily which made her blush a little bit and curl into Emily which made you both laugh.
"Come on we were in the middle of Moana" you dragged Emily to the couch.
You sat down on the couch, Emily next to you with Lily on her lap and you pulled Liv onto yours as she nuzzled into your neck you wrapped a blanket around all of you.
"Hey you" Emily whispered as she kissed your temple.
"I missed you so much" you whispered back.
Liv started to stir as she heard Emily "Mommy's home" you nudged her slightly to make her aware rubbing her back as she woke up.
"Mommy" Liv almost shouted making you and Emily laugh.
Liv started to crawl onto Emily's lap and Lils jumped into yours "they missed you today" you kissed Lily's temple and held her with one with hand and played with Emily's hair in the other, staring at her like the day you met her.
"I missed my babies too" Liv's hands flung around Emily's neck as she hid her face, Emily kissed her head which made her giggle lightly.
"Can we do this again?" Lily asked gently.
"Of course we can, we can do it as many times as you want" you smiled at her.
This was perfect, and exactly the life you wanted, you thought to yourself.
"I think that mommy told me that she would get us pizza" you whispered as Liv whipped her head around to face you
"Really?" she looked up at Emily with the best and most convincing 'puppy dogs eyes' you had ever seen.
"Yeah, I can do that" Emily looked over at you with a playful scowl, it took everything in you not to burst of laughing.
When Lily didn't answer you whispered gently "how does pizza sound baby?" you asked rubbing your arm down her back to soothe her.
Lily nodded tiredly.
"Alright"
When the pizza came you all cleared it fast and by the time you gave the girls a bath it was time for bed.
"How about I read you guys a story, what do you want?"
Liv and Lily shared a look and you knew exactly what book they were about to ask for.
"Bedtime for babystar" they agreed.
Emily chuckled slightly luckily she had the book memorized by now because just on the weekend when they had a sleepover with JJ, they loved JJ's rendition of bedtime for babystar so much that they accidentally left the book over there.
Emily spoke and by the time she finished telling the story they girls were sleeping peacefully, you and your wife kissed both the girls goodnight and went back downstairs.
"Hi" you sighed as you finally had some alone time with your wife.
"I love you so much I'm so thankful for you" Emily smiled.
"Em, I love you too thank you, where's this coming from?" you furrowed your brows.
"Nowhere I just" Emily sighed "you and the girls are the best thing that's ever happened to me and I'm so thankful for this life I'm living, I'm so glad it's you"
"Emily" you almost cried "I love you and the girls more than anything in the world, I was thinking earlier when you were on the phone with the girls, that this life I'm living right now is the most beautiful and rewarding"
You and Emily both leaned forward to kiss, Emily's hands found the back of your neck to deepen the kiss.
"Mama" a small voice made both of your heads turn.
"Hi sweet girl" you quickly walked to Liv, Emily following close behind you "you okay?" you picked her up
"She had a nightmare" Lily hugged Emily's legs.
"Oh no baby what was it about? do you wanna talk about it?" you smiled as Emily brushed her hair out of her face.
Liv frantically shook her head like what she was about to say would make you mad.
"Liv honey we're not mad at you for having a nightmare baby"
"It was about mommy" you and Emily both sighed, Olivia and Lily knew that both of you were field agents but Liv often had nightmares about you or Emily dying in the field and you knew exactly how this dream occurred.
"Liv, mommy is right here and I'm okay" Emily spoke in third person as she held out her arms for you to put Liv in "nothing bad is gonna happen alright?" Emily spoke an empty promise but your five and six year old didn't need to know that.
"You promise?" Liv mumbled.
"We promise" you smiled.
"Tell you what, do you guys wanna sleep with us, just for tonight okay?" Emily smiled.
Both of the girls agreed, at least then all of you would get to sleep.
You and Emily got into bed with Liv next to you and Lily next to Emily, Liv wrapped an arm and a leg around you and Lily basically on top of Emily.
"Thank you for this" you smiled
"I love you guys" Emily smiled as she went to sleep, you lied there for a few minutes just breathing and taking in what a beautiful life you have and how you would be forever thankful for it.

Hi can write Jj x reader shopping for houses together !
House Hunting
Tumblr media
pairing: jennifer jareau x fem reader
category: fluff
warnings: none
word count: 687
summary: you and jj find the perfect house
"How do you like this one?" JJ asked as we walked through the short hallway. It was a small house but big enough for us to live in comfortably, and it had two extra bedrooms for if we had kids or guests.
"I like it...but I think I'd want something a bit bigger, if that's ok?"
"Yeah of course that's ok. As long as it fits our budget." JJ put her hand on the small of my back before leading me out of the house. "Where do you want to check out next?"
"There was one house on Ocean Blvd that looked nice." I said quietly, knowing it was a bit out of our budget.
"That one?" She sighed, getting into the drivers seat.
"We can negotiate the price." I offered. She sighed again and started driving. I didn't realize shopping for houses would be so stressful.
"Is this it?" She took a right and then drive straight for a while before turning left.
"Mhm." I stepped out of the car, looking at the beautiful one story house. "It has a basement."
"A serial killers lair."
"Shut up." I giggled and took her hand. I walked into the house, JJ trailing behind me. "Isn't it beautiful?" The house opened up into a small foyer with the living room on the left and the kitchen on the right. There was a small hallway that led to the rest of the house with the bedrooms and the office, and the door to the basement was in the hallway. "Do you like it?"
"I love it honey." She squeezed my hand as we walked down the basement stairs. There was another couple walking around the house, making me a bit anxious. I really wanted the house and I could see JJ and I living here with our kids one day. "What's wrong?"
"I really want this house."
"That's...that's what's wrong?" The other couple walked downstairs so JJ pulled me into the bathroom.
"I want this house and I want you to want this house. But I don't want them to like this house because then it comes down to who wants to pay more for it and-"
"I like this house baby." She cupped my face in her hands. "I can see us living here...I can see our kids living here." Her eyes were bright with love. "I want to live here with you." She pecked my lips before leaning in for a deeper one.
"But it's a bit out of our budget...is that ok?"
"We can work it out." She caressed my cheeks. "You ok?" I nodded, taking her hand and kissing her palm.
"Can we put in an offer then?"
"Of course, come on." She put her arm around my shoulders, walking upstairs before talking to the realtor.
"Wait wait I have a question."
"Hm?"
"Can we make the extra room in the basement a...like a relaxation room?"
"What do you mean?" JJ smiled at the realtor before quieting her voice a little bit.
"Like...LED lights, a humidifier, comfy seats and a tv. A decompression room." I hugged her arm, hoping she would say yes. She knew I struggled with anxiety and it would be beneficial for my mental health.
"Yeah. That sounds good." She kissed the top of my head. "We can make it whatever you want, as long as I can have my office." I giggled.
"You can have your office." We walked over to the realtor, ready to put in our offer. "You're sure about this?" I checked again.
"Of course I'm sure about it." She gave my hand a squeeze. "I want to build a life here. With you." She pecked my lips before writing down the amount we were willing to pay for the house. I wrapped my arms around her from behind, not caring about PDA right now. I loved her and I wanted her to know that.
When she signed her name it felt like our life was starting. I signed my name next to hers, smiling as she kissed my temple. "I love you." She whispered.
"I love you more."

Soft Kisses
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mizu X Fem!Reader CW: N/A WC: 1.0k+ A/N: Hope y'all like a sh!t ton of fluff!
Blinking my eyes open, I found a rare sight before me. Mizu. Asleep. Peacefully. Usually she'd wake up from a nightmare or something would cause her to stir awake, preventing her from falling back asleep. In turn, it would wake me up, getting me an early start to the day. She'd always feel bad about waking me up earlier than I'd like to, but I didn't mind. Especially if she woke up from a nightmare. She went on for so long without getting comfort and whenever I offered it for the first time, she didn't understand it. She left and didn't come back until sundown. It worried me, but after each time I helped her calm down, she finally understood what comfort felt like. Unconditional love and comfort.
Finding her asleep put a smile on my face. I carefully reached over and brushed a few strands of hair away from her face. Her long, black hair that didn't always look black. There were some times it looked brown to where I questioned what color it was. Maybe it turned black in the summer and brown in the winter. Or vice versa. It was something of the sorts.
The brushing of my finger pad over her skin caused her to blink her eyes open. I smiled wider as I was met with those alluring blue eyes of hers. The one thing she hated about herself, but one of many things that made me love her.
"Morning, Mizu."
A small smile crept on her lips as she reached up, taking my hand, "Morning."
Oh that raspy morning voice. I can't tell if it was her natural morning voice or the one she uses to disguise herself. Either way, it sent a chill up my spine, causing the hairs at the back of my neck to stand up.
"Anything planned for today?"
"Unless Taigen comes unprompted again, no. Other than just spending another lovely day with you at my side."
"Oh, Mizu," I playfully pushed her.
She was never one to be flirty or romantic, not at the beginning, anyway. It was hard for her to show love, but she knew I understood it took her a while. Her past relationship wasn't the best on her, so when we started ours together, it was a long road of being cautious with her. She was cautious around me as well, but I had to know her triggers and what set her off. And they were very easy to know. But the one thing that didn't trigger her was whenever I complimented her eyes. At times, I'd find her standing there, confused on why I said that. She had to process that someone in this world actually enjoyed looking at her eyes. And didn't scrutinize her for them. Didn't call her names that weren't true. That someone was actually capable of loving that part of her that she despises.
"I'm being honest," she said.
"I know you are," I said and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
Some blush crawled over her cheeks as I did that. Another thing about Mizu: she's easily flustered. Especially when I show her any form of affection aside from holding her hand. And we weren't even out in public. If I were to kiss her cheek whenever we were strolling around a village, her red nose would turn even more red and her cheeks would turn a light pink. It was easily noticeable if you were looking right at her, but if you were just walking by, you'd think it was the cold getting to her. But it wouldn't be the excuse for the spring and summer. She'd blame it on allergies in the spring and the heat in the summer.
"Can we stay like this for a little longer?" Mizu asked.
"Of course, Mizu. You don't need to ask to stay with me."
"I-I just feel like I need to. In case you had something planned for today."
"Other than spending my day with you, I didn't have anything planned."
"Good," she mumbled, pulling me closer to her, burying her face in the crook of my neck.
I smiled and wrapped my arms around her, brushing at the long strands of hair. I rested my head on top of hers, holding her tightly as she would place light and soft kisses to my neck. I giggled quietly as she did that, which led her to pull away and look at me.
"Is something wrong?" she asked.
"Nope," I said, cupping her cheeks, pulling her towards me.
"Why are you staring?"
"I can't admire you?"
She shrugged, "Never really had someone do that."
"I'll be the first."
"If you'll be the last, too," Mizu smiled.
"Of course, Mizu."
I leaned towards her, placing a gentle kiss to her nose, both of her cheeks, her forehead, and finishing it off, I placed one to her lips. Pulling away after a few moments, Mizu smiled at me once more, her eyes appearing to be brighter than their darker shades whenever she's angry or pissed off. I loved that about her eyes, too, how different they can look depending on what mood she is in. The one where she wants revenge is the most horrifying, yet, all the more beautiful.
The pad of my thumb caressed the skin underneath her eye, as I stared into them, longing for this moment to last forever and ever. To return the favor, Mizu leaned towards me and pressed a kiss to my forehead, to my cheeks, and along my jawline she could reach before leaving one on my lips behind.
How could such a woman who is filled with revenge and hate be so kind and gentle? Soft one minute, a raging storm the next. I don't know how she did it. It amazed me. It made me want to know more about her, even though I knew every little detail about her. But there are still things she keeps in the dark from me, which I don't mind. They're mostly the darkest thoughts she has ever experienced. A different side of her that she never wants anyone to see, not even me. A part of her she wants to bury deep within herself in the hopes of being forgotten.
That aside, I pulled her towards me, this time, being the one to bury my face in the crook of her neck. I let out a sigh as I took in her warmth, despite her being one that lacks a lot of it with how skinny and somewhat malnourished she was. That we were working on, but I can't force her to eat if she doesn't want to.
"I love you, Mizu."
"I love you, too, Y/N."

Don't Lie to Me
Tumblr media
Emily Prentiss x fem!reader Warnings: life-threatening situations including a bomb and a Branch Davidians-style cult compound, established relationship, hurt/comfort, explicit language, slight emetophobia warning (nothing graphic) Word Count: 2.8k
Summary: You thought Emily was just going out on a typical case until you heard about the standoff at the religious compound. You knew her job was dangerous, but this is a whole new level of terrifying. And you can do nothing but wait. Takes place during S4.E3.
Emily stabbed at the last bit of scrambled egg on her plate and pointed it at you.
"I'd bet my life those kids are being abused," she said, chewing.
You took her plate to the sink, washing up from the early breakfast you'd made to send Emily off on a new case.
"I mean, isn't that kind of the whole point of cults?" you asked, scrubbing at the plates.
"It certainly seems like it." Emily walked over and placed an arm at the small of your back. "Thank you for breakfast. Do you need any help cleaning up?"
"No, I'm okay." You liked the repetitive nature of dishwashing. "You know," you thought out loud, "I was in a cult once."
Emily froze and stared at you, blazer halfway on. "What!?"
"Not that kind of cult. And I got out pretty quick. But... I did believe a lot of crazy things, and I was asked to do some illegal shit."
"Y/N, what!?" she said, slinging her go-bag over her shoulder, reluctant to leave. "What kind of crazy things?"
"Oh, I don't know," you said, drying your hands. "I carried anointing oil around for a while. And I thought shadows in corners were demons. Turns out that's just how light works."
Emily placed her hands on your shoulders, a slightly stunned expression on her face. "I have to go, but we will pick this up later because, Y/N, what!? A cult!?" She shook her head and kissed you, then once again on the forehead for good measure.
"It was just a little cult!" you joked, as she walked toward the door. "It's way easier to get dragged in than you'd think. I consider myself a pretty smart person, and even I fell for some of that bullshit."
"Mmkay," she said, leaning in the doorway. "Well, I'll do my best not to join a cult this week, but no promises."
You rolled your eyes at her. "I love you, Em. Be safe."
"Love you too, honey," she said. "See you in a few days."
You shook your head as the door shut behind her. You didn't tell many people about your "cult year," as you liked to call it, because it hadn't been nearly as extreme as most cults were and because you'd gotten out quickly. But, god, you'd believed in some stupid things. The confluence of moving to a new place, developing a severe mental illness, and falling wildly in love with the girl who was second in command had been a perfect recipe for cultish devotion. No matter. You'd made it out. And, well, fool me twice...
______________________________________________________________
Part of the beauty of working from home is that you could do whatever you wanted most of the day–no pants, no bra, watching the news or TV during lunch, calling Emily whenever you wanted.
You made yourself a sandwich and sat on the couch, turning on the news so that you could fiddle around with your laptop but still have some background noise.
You were scrolling through an article on the best laundry detergents when the reporter mentioned something about La Plata County. You glanced up and turned up the volume. Wasn't that where Emily and Spencer were?
"What is reportedly being called a routine questions and answers meeting by Colorado Child Services has turned into a violent and deadly standoff between Colorado authorities and a fringe religious group known as the Separatarian Sect. The raid on the compound..."
Your heart started to pound. Maybe you'd gotten the name of the county wrong, and Emily wasn't even close. But she had said she was visiting a religious compound and that she was going with Children's Services...
Breathing rapidly, you pulled out your phone and called Emily. Straight to voicemail. You called her again. No answer. You tried to calm yourself down–no need to panic until you knew for sure. You sent Emily a quick text:
Hey love💕 You haven't been forced into a Waco situation have you? The news is going CRAZY. Please text or call when you get a second so I know you're okay. I love you❤️
You moved your work stuff into the living room, piling it on the coffee table and keeping the volume on the news up. You felt sick to your stomach, but tried to stay calm. There was no reason to think Emily was there. Colorado was a huge state. Probably dozens of religious sects. Why would she be at that one? But the longer you went without a text or call from Emily, the more anxious you grew.
______________________________________________________________
You managed to make it about three hours before losing your goddamned mind with worry. You texted Emily again, called her again, left her an angry voicemail about how people shouldn't worry their girlfriends like this, all with no response. You'd tried Derek, too, but no luck.
Your leg bounced up and down, and you could feel tears forming at the corners of your eyes. You found one of Emily's sweatshirts in the hamper and pulled it over your shirt, balling yourself up on the couch and breathing in the scent of her. She's okay, you told yourself over and over. She's okay, she's okay, she's okay.
A breaking news alert on the TV prompted another update on the La Plata County situation. Your head shot up, and you turned the volume up, not wanting to miss a thing.
"...tactical team into a forced retreat after losing a 30-minute gun battle with sect members. Nobody knows for sure how many people are inside, but it is believed that at least three of the child service members are still trapped in the compound."
You didn't sleep that night. Not even for a moment. You sat on the couch late into the night, waiting for updates on the standoff. With each hour that passed without contact from Emily, you were more and more sure that it was her and Spencer in the compound. You'd tried calling a few more times, but the calls seemed pointless, knowing where she was. You'd waited until a decent hour the next morning to call other team members again–Derek, Penelope, JJ. No one had answered, and you'd only grown more terrified. You were scared to know for sure, but you needed to.
You looked down at your phone and took a deep breath, looking at the one number you'd resisted calling so far: Hotch. You knew Emily'd given you his number for emergencies only, but what was this if not an emergency?
The phone dialed for a few moments before picking up.
"Hotchner."
"Where is she!?" you demanded, all the emotion and fear you'd been putting off for the last day rushing to the forefront.
"Y/N," he sighed, and you could tell just by his voice. "She's–"
"Don't lie to me, Hotch! She's in that compound, isn't she?"
Hotch's words were calm, determined. "We're gonna get her out."
"Don't lie to me." Your voice shook, tears slipping down your face.
"Y/N, I swear to you, I will get her out."
"Okay," you whispered, feeling small and scared.
"I'll call as soon as I can to let you know she's okay, but it's gonna take some time."
"Thank you." You dashed tears from your eyes, sniffling.
"Of course."
The line clicked off and you sat in stunned silence for a few minutes, watching the repeated footage of the compound flash by on the TV. Emily was in there. Emily was in there. And there wasn't a damn thing you could do about it.
You paced back and forth for a while, waiting and waiting for news updates, then decided that all this waiting was futile. If Emily couldn't get home to you, you'd go to her. You booked yourself on the next flight to Durango, packed just the essentials, and ran out the door, filling Sergio's bowl and making a mental note to text a friend to check in on him if you were gone for more than a day or two.
______________________________________________________________
The hours you were in the air–with nothing but shitty airplane WiFi service–were the worst for you. You refreshed the live news page over and over again, terrified that at any moment, you'd hear news of a mass death.
When you finally got to Durango that night, you drove the rental car as close to the compound as you could, but ATF had it locked down for miles. For now, this was a close to Emily as you could get.
You booked a nearby hotel and, still wrapped in Emily's sweatshirt, sat moon-faced and bleary-eyed on the edge of the bed, watching the news, and waiting, waiting, waiting.
You'd nearly drifted off to sleep when the room filled with a blinding white-orange light. Your eyes grew wide as you watched the screen. The compound went up in flames, debris flying far and wide.
"Oh my god," you said, covering your mouth. "Oh my god."
You ran to the bathroom and vomited, then sat on the cool floor, shaking. You coughed as you hyperventilated, unable to get enough air into your lungs. You wrapped your hands around your head, rocking. There was no way. No way someone would have survived an explosion like that.
You felt like your heart was being ripped apart. It was the hope that hurt the most. The maybe she hadn't been in there? But almost certainly she was. Maybe she was okay? But probably she wasn't. Most likely, she didn't even exist anymore, had gone up in smoke with the rest of the compound, the thought of which made you vomit again. You couldn't fathom it, couldn't envision a world without Emily. You needed her. You hunched on the floor of the hotel room, leaning into the bed, and waited. Waited for news of Emily's death. You hoped that Hotch would call you first. It'd be so much easier to hear it from him, but the reporters were like vultures, and they often got the news first.
______________________________________________________________
At the compound, a deeply battered Emily, now running out of adrenaline, leaned heavily on Hotch as he walked her to an ambulance.
"You don't have to come with me," she told him, her voice gravelly. "It's not that bad."
"Prentiss, you can barely walk," Hotch protested, watching in concern as she winced climbing into the ambulance. "I wish you'd get on a stretcher."
"I am on a stretcher." Emily gave him a little wave from where she now lay, an EMT strapping her in and taking her vitals.
"I meant before now." Hotch smiled slightly. His team was beat up, but they'd be okay.
He pulled out his phone, scrolling through his contacts. "You need to make a call," he told Emily, putting the phone on speaker as it dialed.
"Oh, god," Emily groaned. "She's gotta be worried sick."
When you picked up, your voice was timid, heavy with tears.
"Hotch?" you whispered, terrified of what he might tell you.
"Hi, honey," Emily said, her voice heavy with love and exhaustion. It hit her, all of a sudden, that there was a good chance she might not have made it out. That she would never have seen you again. The thought brought tears to her eyes.
"Em!" you cried between sobs. "Are you okay!? Are you hurt!?"
"I'm a little banged up, but I'll make it."
"You scared the shit out of me!" you yelled, equal parts furious at her for putting her life in danger and relieved that she was okay. Emotions tumbled through your body like ocean waves.
Emily smiled and wiped a few tears from under her eyes. "I know. I'm sorry."
"Is Spencer there? Is he okay, too?"
Emily exhaled shakily. "Yeah, he's fine. We're all fine."
"Where are you?"
"Uh, right now I'm in an ambulance."
"Which hospital are they taking you to?" you asked, pulling on your shoes and grabbing your keys off the hotel desk.
"Mercy?" Emily said, repeating what the EMT had said.
"I'll meet you there."
"No, honey, you don't need to come all the way here," Emily protested. "I'm okay, I promise. I'll be home in a few days."
"I'm already here, Em, so don't even try to fight me on this."
"You're here!? In Colorado?!"
"In at a hotel. As close to the compound as I could get."
"You came?" Emily confirmed, her voice quiet, like she couldn't quite believe someone would love her enough to be there.
"Emily," you breathed. "Of course I did."
A few tears escaped Emily's eyes, and Hotch looked away.
"Now," you said, trying to pull yourself together. "Please, please, let the doctors take care of you. I'll be there soon, okay?"
"Okay," she sniffled.
"I love you."
"I love you, too," Emily said, before hanging up and handing the phone back to Hotch.
The EMT handed her a paper towel to use as a tissue and she laughed, dabbing at her eyes and nose. "Thanks," she said.
Hotch smiled softly, watching her.
"What?" she said.
"She really loves you."
"I know."
______________________________________________________________
At the hospital, Emily heard you before she saw you. You were the first thing she heard after waking up from the surgery she'd had to stop internal bleeding.
"Look," you railed at the nurse's station. "I've been in the waiting room for hours! I have been awake for three days straight, and my girlfriend has been a cult hostage that whole time! I am not in the mood to be held hostage too! Take me to her now, or I swear to god I will get the fucking FBI director on the line."
Emily's face brightened when you came in the room, but yours fell. She looked awful. Her face was bruised and swollen, bandages covered her body, and her arm was in a cast.
"Oh, Em," you said, your voice breaking, as you grabbed her hand, pressing your palm gently to her cheek.
"I'm okay, I promise." But she wasn't okay, and you could tell.
"It's okay, baby," you reassured her, running your fingers gently through her hair. "You don't have to be okay now, alright? I'm here. I'm here to take care of you."
Her breath hitched, and you could tell she was fighting off tears. It broke your heart. She always felt like she needed to be strong. It was time to let someone else be strong for a change.
You lowered the side of the hospital bed, and lifted yourself in, gently pulling Emily into you. She grasped desperately at your shirt and fought off sobs.
"Shh," you whispered, cradling her head. "Let it out, baby. I'm right here. You're safe now."
You held her while she cried, heartbroken that she'd been so scared and so hurt and, yet, proud that she handled it like no one else in the world could. And for neither the first time nor the last, you felt the immense weight of the honor of being someone Emily Prentiss felt safe enough to break down with.
When she quieted, you rocked her and held her and placed small, gentle kisses on her head, trying to convey all the love, all the protectiveness in your heart for her through osmosis.
You remembered, quite suddenly, the last conversation you'd had before Emily left, about cults. "I told you," you whispered, giggling.
"Told me what?"
"That it was easy to get dragged into a cult."
"That is not the same," Emily argued, playfully shoving you. "I was held hostage. You were just dumb."
"Ouch."
"You didn't beat anyone up or hoard weapons, did you?"
"No," you scoffed. "Of course not."
"Well, what'd you do?" she pressed.
"What do you mean?"
"You said you did some illegal shit in the cult, so what did you do?"
"Oh," you laughed. "Nothing too serious. We bugged some people's rooms and recorded conversations."
"...Why?"
"We thought they were in cahoots with the devil."
Emily laughed, then grabbed her ribs, wincing. "'Cahoots with the devil!?' God, I'm glad I found you after your religious days."
"What can I say? You get the very best of me."
Emily beamed up at you, pulling you down by your collar to kiss you. You stayed gentle and soft, mindful of her split lip and bruised face.
You held your forehead to hers, breathing in her scent. That familiar Emily scent that you'd been so sure you'd never get again.
"Don't ever scare me like that again," you whispered.
"I won't," Emily said, burying her face in your chest.
"Don't lie to me."
You felt her smile into your skin. "I'll try."
You sighed and grinned. "It'll do, I guess. But only because I love you so much."

The first time you experienced sleep paralysis was just over a year ago.
Your girlfriend, Emily, had just been killed in the line of duty by a criminal from her past, Ian Doyle—or so you thought.
Seven months later, it was revealed that she’d gone into hiding for her own safety, but she was alive. You felt every emotion possible—relief, pain, anger, joy—but after the initial shock, you picked up right where you’d left off, and Emily had been living with you ever since. You were sure that now that she was back and at your side every night, the sleep paralysis would go away.
Only it hadn’t.
You didn’t tell Emily at first. You didn’t want her to worry or feel more guilty than she already did. So when you opened your eyes and found yourself paralyzed, every atom in your body feeling impossibly heavy, and the man from your nightmares lingering in the corner, raising your heart rate, until he started moving forward to kill you, you fought to keep silent.
The third time it happened, you couldn’t contain the whimpering sound you made, and Emily woke up to find you paralyzed. She tried asking how she could help, but you couldn’t answer. What Emily claimed was only minutes later, but felt like hours to you, you regained control of your body and confessed that this wasn’t the first time.
Emily was horrified and asked if you’d talked to a doctor about it. You had, but the medications he’d prescribed made your symptoms worse, so you’d stopped taking them.
The next morning, Emily was searching for anything she could find about how to help someone with sleep paralysis. That night, when you got into bed, she was ready.
“Do you know why sleep paralysis happens?” Emily asked.
You shook your head. You’d worried that looking into it would make it worse.
“When we sleep, our body undergoes partial paralysis so we don’t act out our dreams; it keeps us from getting up and walking around or talking in our sleep. Sleep paralysis happens when we’re between sleep stages, so your brain is awake, but your body is still in REM sleep, which is why you can’t move.”
You smiled. “You sound like Reid.”
Emily playfully rolled her eyes. “I may have consulted with him. For some people, if a partner talks to them, taps their shoulder, or even shakes them, it can wake them from sleep paralysis. So the next time it happens, try to make whatever noise you can, and when I wake up, I can wake you up.”
You sighed. “I don’t want to wake you up every time this happens. I can handle it.”
Emily took your hand. “This started happening to you after I left. When this wakes you up, I want you to wake me up. You don’t have to do this by yourself.”
Your throat tightened, and you nodded.
“If you can’t make noise, I read that you should try to move your fingers or toes—anything you can. And it helps to focus on your breathing. The faster you can slow your heart rate, the sooner you’ll come out of it.”
You committed that information to memory—you could manage that, you thought.
“I love you,” you said, leaning forward to kiss your girlfriend.
“I love you,” she said between kisses.
You both lay down, trying to find a comfortable position. You rolled away from Emily, but moments later, she had an arm wrapped around you and was snuggled up behind you. You nestled into her, feeling perfectly content.
You drifted off to sleep not long after.
***
You woke up on your back, suffocated by an all-too-familiar feeling.
At some point in the night, Emily had rolled to the other side of the bed, and you’d ended up on your back. As soon as you opened your eyes, you knew you shouldn’t have.
Your bedroom was cloaked in darkness; as far as you could tell, there was no light peeking through the edges of the blackout curtains over the windows, so it must have been pretty early in the morning. You could make out the faint snoring of Emily to your left, but no matter how hard you willed your head to turn, it wouldn’t.
Your arms lay straight against your sides, palms facing down and resting on top of your duvet. Your racing heart sped up even more when you caught a presence in the corner of your eye.
You thought of Emily’s advice—move your fingers or toes, steady your breathing—and tried to do so. You put all of your focus into moving your big toe or pointer finger, but neither budged. And in front of you, the figure was coming into focus.
A tall, white man with graying, shaggy hair and an unkempt beard. He was dressed in all black, as he had been the last time you’d seen him. His blue eyes were piercing even through the darkness.
Ian Doyle.
He’s dead, you reminded yourself. You saw it happen. He couldn’t hurt Emily anymore. This was just a hallucination from the sleep paralysis.
But, God, it felt so real.
Now at the edge of your bed, Ian stared down at you with a cryptic smile. “Hello, love,” he said, before turning to sleeping Emily. “Lauren.”
You wished you could cringe away, close your eyes again, do something to protect yourself, but every muscle in your body was frozen.
The only thing left for you to try was to make any sort of noise. Fortunately, that was easy when you were afraid. A whimper bubbled out of your mouth, and you hoped it would be enough to wake Emily.
Next to you, your girlfriend stirred but didn’t wake, so you made the noise again. In an instant, Emily lurched awake and turned her attention to you.
“Y/N?” she said, grogginess thick in her voice. “Can you move?”
Your lack of response was answer enough.
“I’m gonna touch you, okay?” she asked.
At the foot of the bed, Ian’s smile widened.
Even in death, you’re a creep, you thought.
You felt faint pressure on your arms, but it wasn’t enough to pull you from this episode. When Emily saw it wasn’t working, she resorted to taking your shoulders in her hands and shaking you, but that didn’t free you, either.
“Okay,” Emily said, sitting up next to you. “The research said that might not work. But it also said this will only last a few minutes, so I’m just going to talk until you come out of it.”
Your heart ached with how much you loved this woman.
“Oh, please, Lauren,” Ian said, walking toward her side of the bed. You could just make out his movements from the corner of your eye. “I’d love to hear what you have to say.”
The calming effect Emily had on you vanished in an instant, and your heart thumped with fear all over again. The closer he got to Emily, the more you wanted to scream.
“I would love to finish what I started,” he whispered, leaning toward the woman you loved.
You whimpered again, and Emily took your hand in hers.
“Whatever you’re seeing right now isn’t real, I promise,” she said. “I know it looks real, maybe even sounds real. But we’re the only two people in this room. I won’t let anyone or anything touch you.”
It wasn’t you that you were worried about, but you had no way of telling her that.
“On second thought,” Ian said, making his way back toward you. “It would be far more satisfying to watch Emily,” he spit out her name like it was dirt on his tongue. “Watch you suffer before I ended her.”
“I love you,” Emily said, reaching up to stroke your hair. “This will be over soon, I promise.”
The double entendre that she didn’t know she was speaking sent a chill down your spine.
Ian stood directly above you now, somehow holding the wooden stake he’d impaled Emily with all those months ago.
“I’ll be quick,” he taunted. “Though I can’t say I’ll give your girlfriend the same treatment.”
He leaned down to whisper in your ear. “Not that you’ll be around to watch.”
He plunged the wooden stake toward your heart, and you sat straight up with a gasp. You blinked furiously and saw that, sure enough, you were the only two in the room.
You closed your eyes as hard as you could. Ian is gone, you repeated like a mantra. Ian is dead.
“Love?” Emily said, reaching for you.
You opened your eyes and pulled your knees into your chest, grateful for the ability to move at all, and rested your chin on your legs.
“Breathe, honey,” Emily said, demonstrating slow, deep breaths. You hadn’t realized how shallow your breathing had become until you joined her and felt your lungs fill with air.
Once your breathing settled, you stretched out your legs but remained sitting up; you weren’t ready to risk falling back asleep yet.
“You never told me what it is you see,” Emily said, rubbing circles on your back. “If you want to talk about it, you can tell me.”
You swallowed. “It’s not easy to talk about,” you whispered.
She nodded. “I understand. The offer stands, if you change your mind.”
Silence cloaked the room for a few moments, and you felt her watching you, waiting to see if you would fall apart. But you felt stable, now that you were alert and in control again.
So you sighed and nodded. “It’s Ian. It’s always Ian.”
Emily’s eyes widened. “Oh.”
“When you were gone, I saw him killing you over and over again. And once you came back…” you shuddered. “Sometimes I’d hallucinate him coming for you all over again. This time, he came for me.”
Emily wrapped her arms around you, and you fell into her embrace, breathing in her soft scent.
“I’m so sorry,” she said, not for the first time since she’d returned, and you were sure it wouldn’t be the last.
You shook your head. “I don’t want you to apologize. I don’t blame you; I blame Ian. And he’s dead and can’t hurt anyone anymore. I just need to work through that a little more, I think.”
Emily hesitated. “You know… Hotch has had me seeing a counselor since I came back. I could get some recommendations from her for you, if you’d like.”
You’d talked to your primary doctor about your sleeping problems, but you hadn’t considered the idea of therapy before.
“Think about it,” Emily said quickly. “No pressure. I just want you to know your options.”
You nuzzled against her and hummed. “I think it’s a good idea.”
“Good,” Emily said, and you could hear her smiling. “I’ll call her in the morning. Do you want to stay up a little longer or go back to sleep?”
You closed your eyes, feeling perfectly content. “I’m good right here for a while.”

“Honey, have you seen my sweater?” Emily called from the bedroom, sifting through the closet, looking for the sweater in question.
“Hm?” You cluelessly hummed, peeking your head out from behind the bathroom door, toothbrush in hand.
“I’m repacking my bag, but I can’t find my sweater anywhere,” she explained to you as she continued to look lower in the closet, seeing if maybe it fell down from the hanger.
“Which one? You have a bunch.” You laughed, wetting your toothbrush under the faucet.
“My gray cardigan. Are you sure that you have no idea where it is?”
When you shook your head, she gave up her search, instead just picking out a different sweater. She leaned over to give you a peck on the cheek before allowing you to resume the process of brushing your teeth, going back to working on fitting her clothes in the bag.
The next day at work, Emily was pulled into the conference room almost immediately. Another case, one word. Florida.
Upon hearing JJ name the state they were traveling to, she sighed, shaking her head and following the blonde upstairs.
After finishing going over the main details of the case with the team, she made it a point to text you, letting you know she wouldn’t be home tonight, or the next few nights. You replied a little while later, wishing her a safe travel.
The case was grueling, and the unsub’s motive was tricky to piece together, so they had to go out on a limb, but thankfully the call they made was the right one. Emily was able to make it home in one piece, back to you.
As she tiptoed to the bedroom, socked feet pitter-pattering down the hall, she could hear a faint sound coming from your shared room. She took it as a sign that she didn’t need to tip toe, assuming you were awake, and pushed the bedroom door open.
She walked in, the first thing catching her eye being you, laying on your stomach on the bed, feet kicking back and forth in the air as you watched something on your laptop. She smiled, immediately engulfed by feelings of warmth and contentment being in your presence. Something else she noticed, however, was your attire. Or, actually, her attire that you’d seemingly stolen.
“Hi sweetheart,” she greeted softly, removing her sweater and tossing it in the hamper. “That wouldn’t be my gray cardigan that you’re wearing, would it? The one I told you I couldn’t find the other week.”
You just smirked, chuckling a bit as you hit the pause button on your show, rolling back over onto your back.
“Nope, definitely not.”
Emily quirked her brow at you, shaking her head lightly, a breathy laugh coming from her. “Yeah, sure it isn’t.”
She turned around, stripping off the rest of her work clothes and picking out something comfy to wear for bed. As she pulled her shirt over her head, she muttered, “next time you want to wear my clothes, just ask me.”
“Hm?” You hummed, looking back over at her.
“I think you look adorable in my sweater, but you should’ve asked.” She said, walking over to your side of the bed.
“Sorry.. I just wasn’t sure if you’d be alright with it.”
“Of course I’m alright with it, I mean look at you. I might just have to give that cardigan to you permanently.”
You snorted, but her words did put a smile on your face.
“No, that’s okay. I’m good with sharing, especially if that means I get to wear your clothes.”
“Sounds like a deal. But just so you know, this means I’m also going to be stealing your sweaters too. All the time.”
