Alice is the chosen institute child and she's the reason for the destruction of the institute (due to op child messiah reasons). That's why she's trying to get Sam to forget about the institute and is constantly downplaying its existence. She doesn't wanna get caught and charged for multiple manslaughter charges and arson.
