Life hasn't been too kind to me over the last several weeks. I'm finally getting back online. Utilizing my free time to write and make friends again. If we chatted before my hiatus, I'm so sorry I vanished.

A  S T O R Y  B E G I N S

It’s almost funny how quickly happiness can descend into tragedy. The Morell family is no stranger to dismal circumstances, but perhaps what marks them as so different is their unfounded strength in the face of adversity. Whether it be stemming from Talia, her sister Marin, their mother, or their father, who has now passed on but remains a vital source of philosophy in their family, even in his absence. The Morells have lived in Beacon Hills for the entirety of their lives, the closeness to the Nemeton a necessity to their lifestyle as druids. Marin and Talia were very close when they were younger, little girls running around in their church clothes, mud-streaked and dirt-smeared when they returned home from playing near the Nemeton without even knowing it. Druids get to choose their Nemeton, which is just a sacred space that they declare as one, Talia’s father chose this particular one in Beacon years and years ago. His daughter was drawn to it without any real knowledge of her own gifts and abilities as a druid herself.

Things didn’t stay serene for long, however; their father, Abel Morell, was the emissary for a feral pack of werewolves that were constantly bringing trouble upon themselves. Unlike most druids who attempted to seek out solace and assist packs who had moral goals and honor, the Morell’s always had an affinity for packs that waded more in the shades of grey with possibly villainous goals. They had a belief they could bring about peace and calamity, to change the wills of the Alpha with Gaelic philosophy and wisdom. They were saviors.

Unfortunately, Abel’s obsession was also what got him killed. He couldn’t keep control of his pack and eventually hunters became alerted to their killings and misdeeds. He tried to defend them, and he ended up dying for their sins by a female hunter, Jo Harvelle. She slayed the remainder of the pack as well and would have let Abel live had he not thrown himself into the midst of chaos and bloodshed. Talia was heartbroken by her father’s death, having always been the closest to them out of the family, very much “daddy’s little girl”. In his memor,y she got a Gaelic symbol tattoo at sixteen in an act of both rebellion and anguish. She acts in his name, a defender of misunderstood packs and werewolves, giving second chances to creatures and people who might not deserve it.

Marin left Beacon Hills shortly after the Alpha pack disintegrated. She had no reason to be there any longer, and rather than track down Deucalion, she wanted to travel, see the world. While Jade will miss her sister, part of her is happy to be on her own. The only remaining family she has is Alan Deaton and her mother, but both Druids tend to keep to themselves. Instead, Talia is left to her own devices, and one of them? Exacting revenge on Jo Harvelle. While Talia doesn’t know that Jo is an angel named Hael, it doesn’t stop her from planning to get back at her in her father’s name. Deep down, she knows that it’s not what her father would want, but she can’t help but try regardless. He was everything to her, and there is a vast emptiness within the female ever since she lost him. 

In the meantime, she has also recently come of age; eighteen is when druids are expected to become emissaries and take on their first pack. If they don’t, their powers may start to falter. It’s a stressful endeavor given there are almost no remaining packs left in Beacon Hills, most have splintered or fallen apart, so she turns to Scott McCall, the only current Alpha apart from the twins to see if she can persuade him to create one and allow her to serve for him in place of Deaton. If Talia starts to lose her abilities, she becomes a target for William Oakley, a dangerous, dark druid lurking in the shadows of Beacon, known for draining other druids of their power and taking it upon himself.
