So I’m actually working at my dream job now.  All I do is shop all day long and spot items of clothing on Celebs then make lower-priced suggestions.  Find me at Femail Fashion Finder at Daily Mail.  

For example, see the top pic, of the killer Chloe dress.  12k and sold out. sob. Viola, I found a similar style for a digestible $128 at Revolve.  

Since I’m no longer chained to a life I despise, I’m sure my writing here will be every so much more bright, chipper and GASP...FRIENDLY.  I’m a Stepford-survivor and since I’m off the sauce now, I’m black card and bitchiness free.   While I wish I could still say I am rolling in the dough, I’m just a rolling stone now.  Freedom is priceless.  But fashion isn’t, so I’ve had to curb my habits to that of a proletarian.  A posh one perhaps.

Snow Day Sales

Not like I need 20 inches of snow to keep me inside and online shopping, but I've been a little more thorough at yoox & barneyswearhouse today than usual.  And with all this extra time, I'm going to share my favorite finds that I couldn't fit or can't buy since I don't know how much space my closet will have until next week.

Nicholas Kirkwood Pearl Above the knee boots - $621- Size 36.5 only    With the quirky pearl, it's more glam than the Stuart Weitzman highlands but just as stable since it's got a flattened heel. 

Thakoon Floral Dress - $236 - Size 2 Only No returns or exchanges or this baby would have already been on it's way to me.  The side boob is incredible and I can see this being worn with flats in St. Barths or with a fascinator at the Veuve Polo match.

Maison Martin Margiela 1 - $129 - Lots of sizes and comes in red/white too After Galliano rose from the ashes like a phoenix at Margiela, I believe in investing heavily in prior collections to draw comparison between the two in the future.  This is perfect for SF but perfectly useless in NYC since it won't keep you very warm.  Wear it with a sheer Rick Owens tank top and some leather leggings and you've got yourself a winner.

Rag and Bone Sigrid Leopard Coat - 637.50 - All sizes

In this weather, everyone needs a siiiiiiick oversized leopard print coat.  While Dolce does leopard print the best, I prefer the Charlotte Gainsbourg feel of this.  Pair this with Vuitton or Saint Laurent Resort 2015 and it's ultra glam rock.

Casadei - Size 5 and 8 -$113

Speaking of Glam rock, these are so disco trashy they're so Tom Ford SS 2015.  I would buy these but I literally just shipped over 300 lbs of shoes cross country.  I'm on a shoe ban and IT'S KILLING ME.  I hear free bird playing and I imagine standing on the railing of a balcony while all coked up when I see these babies.   Living the dream my friend.  Living the dream.

Chanel Pre-fall 2014 sequined and ostrich feathered cape (only 2 made for North America) vs.  My mom's 25 year old Mongolian lamb coat from Montevideo, Uruguay.  

Like a typical aspiring blogger who hasn't hit the payload of banking million dollar deals shilling guest designed cheap shoes or marrying a wealthy behind-the-scenes guy, I've got to be creative when it comes to mimicking Chanel's iconic 25k ostrich feathered cape from Pre-fall 2014.  Other known as vintage shopping.  But my favorite kind of shopping is going up to Scarsdale digging through the massive archives that my hoarder like family has compiled over 30 years.   (Isn't it annoying though when people say that they're getting vintage or from their mom's closet!?  It's like a giant nyah-nyah you can't re-create this look.)

Anyways, right before I went out last night, I went through my mom's closet and found this JEWEL.  I paired it with another 15 year old find - a boucle sweater from Armani Exchange that I purchased from the New Jersey employee's only sample sale when I was 18 years old and worked for the brand.  To prevent myself from creating a wormhole and traveling back in time, I paired it with ultra flattering (thank you for your eating disordered trained eye MK&A) The Row leather leggings, Iro sheer top and Tabitha Simmons Bryon boots.

While I may be passive-aggressively bragging about my mother's wonderful fashion insight, most of all I'm actually encouraging y'all to be hoarders, eBay and vintage store stalkers.  You never know what you're gonna find.

It's Truffle Season!!!

Alas, Pizzeria Delfina is only serving their truffle pizza starting next week.  Being the DIY gal I am, I decided I would bring my own truffles and shave it over a white pizza.  And I did just that.   (I asked the restaurant first if they were ok with it...I imagine it's kind of like BYOB but BYOT).

So here's the plan kiddos - where to buy white Alba truffles in SF:

--Bi-Rite 18th and Divisadero have them at $5 per gram.  A suggested serving amount at fine dining establishments is 10 grams.  

--Far West Fungi in Ferry Building has them as well.  

--Whole Foods SOMA is due for some next week! (but they're small like about the size of a shooter marble probably)

Then grab your shaver, your truffle and take to any delicious Italian restaurant and order up some simple risotto, cream sauce gnocchi or best yet, white pizza with an egg.

Furthermore after reading this Eater Article about the mark up of white truffles at restaurants,  I'm thinking about investing in that giant billiards ball sized guy ($400) from Far West Fungi and carrying it in my Birkin in it's own risotto cushioned carrying case and shaver.

You know I love me some GOOP.  Gwennie is totally a massive role model for me.  Beautiful? Check.  Unrealistically thin?  Check.  So completely out of touch with the 99%?  Check and double Check.

So I relish reading GOOP as it lands in my inbox - every since section.  I'm not quite yet blinded enough to buy GOOP collab products, but I'm REAL close.  (HEY GOOP - HERE'S A TIP - How about some GOOP x de Gournay wallpaper prints as blank note cards!  HELLO. I'm a genius). Anyways, this week she suggests reading about Alain de Botton on Art in the Home.  He discusses how the placement of art in one's home set the tone and atmosphere of each area by reminding you of who you are and strive to be.  Not really rocket science but then OMFG this section comes up:

Usually I'm a giant PS whore and will blindly buy anything Jack and Lazaro make, but with my ballooning budget for FW 2013 (and DAMN U MO for SS2014 Peter Som access!!!), I'm gonna have to be financially responsible and cut the fat where I can.  This is one of those situations.  (Besides, I'm already buying 2 dresses and a pair of shoes from PS FW 2013!)
