Hey, you found me! Welcome! Call me Changeling. I write, draw, and obsess over fandoms here, mostly Legend of Zelda but also anything else that might catch my interest. If you're here for Dimensional Links, rest assured you've come to the right place. But hey, if you're here for something else, that's awesome too.
Don't wanna be here? Send us removal request.
Note
IT'S TIME TO MAKE CHANGELING SAD! *Spins the Wheel of Angst* Huh. Okay- Oni's no longer trapped in the mask! Unfortunately, this comes at a cost- all of the other Links have been kidnapped and are being held against their will! What level of Papa Bear does he go to?
Yes.
The level is Yes. There is no “mitigation” or “level-headed approach” in this situation. Oni has free agency for the first time in several millennia and he is going to use it.

To be honest, I don't see the issue with just treating AoC the way the game presents itself, as an alternate timeline caused by Terrako and the malice's time travel. It's not like time travel induced alternate timelines is a new concept for Zelda.
I understand your point, absolutely. The part I have a problem with is when Nintendo said that AoC was supposed to be a canon prequel to BotW.
And this works, up to a point. But then it falls apart so impressively that no amount of tape could stick it back together again - you have the BotW descendants, who remember losing the Champions, coming back and preventing the Champions' deaths, which thereby immediately removes the reason for them to have come back, which introduces a paradox of the mind-bending bootstrap variety, and then it just keeps going from there.
If we want BotW to proceed the way we played it, then AoC cannot exist as it does. And if we want AoC to be completely canon, then BotW cannot be its direct canonical sequel. Something has to give, here.
I accept AoC wholeheartedly, in every respect except being a canonical prequel to BotW. Because... it's not. Basically, moral of the story, if AoI does the same thing then I shall slot it in next to AoC as 'Fun game, but not a canon prequel.'

If the Links made a band, who's joining and how well does it go? (Servo+, humming a little tune)
The Links in the band are Gen, Mask, Ocarina, Dusk, Steam, Lore, and Wind. They never quite hit it big-time, but they do fairly well for themselves. Wind is their songwriter, Dusk is their vocalist, and everyone else is on instrumentals.

Will Dusk have his crossbow from Link's Cross bow training in DL's sequel?
Probably not. I dislike Link’s Crossbow Training on principle since it is not the Twilight Princess sequel that it started as and could have been.
Now, I’m absolutely going to use that fact that Dusk can both use and is proficient with a crossbow, but I don’t think I’ll be giving him one as part of his own arsenal. Personal preference.

What would Shadow's reaction be to the end of TerminalMontage's Something About Zelda Ocarina of Time: The WATER TEMPLE?
"Man, I should have thought of that," Shadow says, watching his cartoon-self approvingly.
"This was a mistake," Ocarina decides.
On the other hand, Shadow does not believe he'd be taken out by Ruto like that. He's a free shapeshifter, drowning would be disgraceful.
(He's getting married over his own dead body, and joke's on the world because he doesn't leave behind a body if he dies.)

Hi! Finals are slowly consuming my lifespan, but I have a short moment to breath. So, I was wondering, what would RGBV's mindscape look like? What would their composites look like? --Unwritten Anon
As a result of being Actually One Person, RGBV shares a mindscape... sorta. It's all connected, but by thin little thought-bridges, and most of it is segmented into four distinct - and color-coded! - parts.
Now, Link-The-Composite on the other hand is noticeably different before and after the Four Sword. The Before-Mindscape looks pretty standard, as far as mindscapes can be standard. Here's his likes and dislikes, over there are the people he cares about, this is the corner that the swordsmanship knowledge lives in, etc.
The After-Mindscape has been neatly sorted by RGBV organization, and actually does maintain the color-coding. It's all one piece again, no little thought-bridges to be seen, but the Four Sword leaves marks. The actual RGBV aren't truly there, but there are four distinctly Link-shaped boys in with some aforementioned color-coding running around and keeping everything in line. Link-The-Composite will find himself assigning an RGBV personality to every thought he has now.

What if EoW Link's nickname is a synonym of something like Silent? From what we know he's the only Link who actively lost his voice (Lux has his speech block but it's not quite the same as having it actively taken away yknow?)
I had thoughts about that, but then I decided it would be a bit mean of me to name him for a traumatic experience like that.
However, I have been thinking about his nickname and after a great deal of research I am leaning towards Lacuna, which is a synonym for an empty place. Rather like the Still World, eh?
Plus it sounds good in a combo with ‘Echo’.

A thought, if I may share said thought.
If it contradicts you can use a dream (nightmare?) sequence for any parts you like.
Of anything.
AOC contradicts the timeline? Memory fever dream.
Weird dream sequences are. So fun.
(Feel free to ignore me)
I mean, a solid half of Chapter 33 is a dream sequence so I am right there with you, but most of the time I feel like claiming “It was a dream all along!” is a bit… cheap? Like, I could have done something cool with it. But now it was never real to begin with and that really just destroys any potential it could have had.
Definitely good Koholint material though!

Would DL look any different if Null was a thing when you started writing it? (Servo+, hit with a revelation)
…you know, it probably would. I think I still would have used Demise, as he’s the original Curse-Giver, but Null absolutely would have been in the running as a Majora-level threat, if not more.
Heck, maybe I’d have had Null and Demise team up, even. I’ll never know for sure, because it’s far too late for that, but at the very least Null is primed and ready in my arsenal for future use!

Animal anon here (hi, it’s been a while! Hope you’ve been well), I haven’t played eow at all yet since I don’t own a switch, but I’ve only half-heartedly been avoiding spoilers. If you need name suggestions for Link, I’ve seen Rift around as one. You could even do a synonym of that, like Chasm, or Canyon or something. Crevice? Crevasse?
Or if you want something else, maybe a synonym of null? To reference his time in the still world? Breach? Void? Zero? (...though that might be a bit mean spirited).
Or if you’d like his name to match Zelda’s, maybe something like echo? Repeat? Resound? What if his nickname was Answer? Reply?
I’m just thinking out loud, feel free to ignore my suggestions if you wish! I just enjoy thinking of possible ideas.
I'm trying to have his name match Zelda's, it's just not clicking, you know? None of the synonyms sound right.
I just have to keep looking, I think. One of these days I'll consult the right dictionary.

Tidbit Anon!! Hi! (Wow, first time I've ever had a recurring anon name. Neato! Also EoW spoilers tho idk if that's still smth to warn for)
Yknow the segment in EoW where you and Link get through the final dungeon together? In the puzzle where you escort Link to a button, if you help him up with echoes he gives you the usual nod and continues to the next room.
However, another strategy you can use is grabbing him with Tri and pulling him up yourself. He squirms the whole time and when you complete the puzzle he doesn't nod at you, he just looks at you and then moves on to the next room. Made me laugh pretty good on my first playthrough.
It's not just a neat detail, but I also think it's a good moment that could help with figuring out their dynamic a bit. They get a little silly sometimes!!
I'm getting the hang of them bit-by-bit! At this point I've definitely decided that I want them as a duo, because that's just more fun. I'm definitely playing with the idea of expanding on that whole sword-form thing - it gives a very specific Yu-Gi-Oh! vibe, if you know what I mean.
Beyond that, still deciding what I want from their personalities, but I'm getting there! (Also need to actually decide what this Link's name is. Zelda is Echo, but Link eludes me. Hmm.)

Goat Anon here. (At least I think I’m goat anon) Is the events of the new Hyrule Warriors game going to be included in DL?
It will not be in DL, no.
Now, a future, connected-to-DL story, that's fair game! But I am going to wait to make any decisions about it until I can play it, and know for sure what it's about.
If it pulls an Age of Calamity and actively contradicts its source game, then I may not use it regardless because it's just causing problems on purpose and I don't want to deal with that.
So, we'll see!

Go anon - What would happen iif the Links went through Pokemon Scarlet an Violet, but the glitches are canon?
"I don't care what people say, I don't think it's normal to clip through the walls like this," Sketch says, looking down at himself. He's been trying to phase onto the wall for the past twenty minutes. It's not working. He is becoming mildly irritated.

Hello! One of my one shots has extended, as they are want to do, specifically “the one in wonderland”, the plan is to cover from meeting The Four through the Demise fight, and only parts that are changed by the new character’s presence, but I wanted to ask you if you were okay with it first. If you’re not then I’ll just skip to the next planed part ^-^b
Just keep giving credit where credit is due, please, given that you will literally be inserting your own OC into my plot lines.
Aside from that, I say go for it! I'm curious!

What would hapen if the Links ended up in Mother 3?
"So," Gen says. "Hypothetically. If I were to go and whap Claus upside the head for being stupid. How would you feel about that?"
Lucas whimpers. "M-maybe... don't? P-please?"
Red frowns. "He's being so mean though!"
"B-be... gentle?"
"I will be exactly as gentle as I need to be to get my point across," Gen says, which doesn't actually promise anything at all but does fool Lucas long enough to get his permission about it.
Completely coincidentally, Claus next shows up with a generously-sized bump on his head and a profuse apology for his brother. Gen denies all connection with these events.

Hoops anon! Which Link is the best swordfighter? Like they're obviously all in a league of their own, but who's the best of the best?
I think it's Dusk, because he's the only one who actively gets mentored by a previous Hero. So now he's got all that Heroic Expertise, plus whatever he adds to the repertoire on his own.

Update: it did not work.
Hi! I don't know if you're still dealing with invisible asks, but in my experience that happens from blocking someone without deleting the ask you got from them! So if you get anon spam and hit block those messages still exist, they're just hidden because they're from a blocked account.
This is a logical conclusion, but the only blogs I have blocked are sex-bots (I am not here to see naked women), which I doubt have messaged me, and Tubi (to get rid of that creepy flesh-hat boy) who I don't think know I exist, so. I suppose I will unblock and reblock them one by one and see what happens?
I've only blocked like. five blogs total, so hopefully it's a quick fix.
