Barbie Legacy Episode 1

Barbie was so excited to start this new chapter in her life. She had moved away from her family to try and find her own way. Her goal in life was to have a beautiful family, so she really needed to find someone to achieve that dream with. She decided the best way for her to meet somebody without any real connections in town was to try a dating app…

B: “Oh boy, here we go. My parents would be so disappointed if they saw me looking for my future husband online. No time like the present!”

Barbie starts swiping when she suddenly comes across a Very handsome man named June Yokoyama. He looks familiar, as in she knows his face but can’t think of where she knows him from. She swiped yes and it is an instant match!! 

~ their first date is at the spice festival~

June: “Yea this one time I wanted to compliment the head cheerleader of my class, she was so beautiful. I really wanted to ask her to prom, but we’d spoken less than 50 words our whole highschool career, I counted! I worked up the nerve though, and was approaching her to ask when one of her friends tripped me. They all laughed at me, but the head cheerleader, she looked so sad.” 

June has a look of wonder on his face, and maybe a hint of…joy?

Barbie can’t understand why June would recall that memory and then it starts to click…

Highschool, she was head of cheer. She was generally nice to everyone but there was this one nerd that almost always wore Batman clothes, always bad acne though…Oh, shit.

Barbie could feel her cheeks getting red and her palms were sweaty, she knows June!! He was that nerd!!

B: “I-I’m so sorry June but, I need to go.”

With that she flees their first date. Leaving June quite sad, but also maybe hopeful there will be another time to recover their lost years? 😭

His friend Garrett on the other hand has some not so encouraging thoughts to share with June. 🤬

G: “June, you could do so much better! She just ran away from your first date!! She doesn’t care about you!!”

J: “Garrett just chill, that was probably a really tough realization for her. She’s changed, became more humble and kind. I still really like her.”

Garrett rolls his eyes and huffs 😒

Pancakes Household: Chapter 9, Part 5

Eliza and Bob consider adoption.

Nicknames: Bob = Sleek, Eliza = Jumble

With the kids in bed Eliza set about doing a few chores that needed her attention. Bob was always happy to let puddles dry themselves but Eliza liked a clean floor, I don’t know what her excuse for mopping the puddle outside was… After she settled in to relax and cross stitch, choosing to try a fox pattern. She settles to try talking to Bob about adoption, he might like the idea.

Eliza: How was your shift

Bob: Busy but fun. That critic didn’t show up again thank goodness, I swear he’s a plague on the restaurant

Eliza: Sleek, I was talking to Kayleigh about wanting a third kid, because I do want one, and she suggested adoption

Bob: Adoption? I thought we were going to try properly once Fergus is a teen

Eliza: I know that’s what we agreed to but- would you consider us adopting a little girl instead of me having another pregnancy

Bob: Of course! I love you Jumble. Whether our kids come from us or not, they’re going to be our kids

Eliza: *sighs* oh thank goodness because I did not want to go through labour again

Bob: *laughs* Fergus did take his sweet time coming into the world, longest 48 hours of my life

Eliza: I know the waitlists can be long but... you could talk to Aaron? As a lawyer maybe he could put in a good word somewhere

Bob: I’m sure he would. Besides, giving birth has already done wonderful things to your body

Eliza: *blushes* I’m pretty sure it’s your food that’s done it but... care for an inspection

Bob: Don’t have to ask me twice Mrs critic

Eliza: We should let the kids know what we’re doing

Bob: And you think we can request a girl

Eliza: Jumble, who does the cleaning? I know all about your stash of pink infant clothes you’ve been making since we got married. Just try and get them to stop me making that money well spent

Bob: I mean I know they might grow up to not be a girl but while they’re small and can’t complain I do want to wrap them in pink

Eliza: *chuckles* You’re such a softie

Bob: Oh here they are, morning stack!

Fergus: Stack?

Bob: Because we’re a group of Pancakes

Onyx: I will not be including that in a comedy set

Eliza: Listen, your dad and I have been talking and… we’re going to try an adopt an infant. How would you two feel about that

Onyx: Would I get babysitting money

Fergus: Can we do adorable photoshoots

Bob: Well one of us would try be home with her while she’s an infant but maybe once she’s a toddler you can help out

Fergus: It’s going to be a girl?

Eliza: We hope so but it will depend on who out there needs a home

Their parents leave and Onyx and Fergus continue to chat for a while. Overall, they think a little sister could be cute, and photography loving Fergus wants to take a bazillion pictures already.

Onyx: Maybe having a cute baby around will make it easier to convince mother to buy me a horse

Eliza: I heard that! We are thinking on it dear, just keep walking Ginger for now

In the kitchen Bob decides to make some French toast to keep, he loves having leftovers in the fridge. Down beside him Ginger is being assistant chef, barking her approval now and then and finishing off a piece Bob deemed too well cooked to go in the pile.

Eliza: So you can fit us in this morning? Yes my husband’s shift doesn’t start until the afternoon so we’d be happy to come in for the interview. Do we need to bring anything

Onyx: Hey dad

Bob: Yes?

Onyx: I just wanted to say, and this isn’t about getting a horse I promise

Bob: Okay

Onyx: I hope you and mother can sort it out. You’re always kind to me and I think any kid would benefit from being raised by the two of you

Bob: Thanks kid, come here *hugs*

School time! Can I finally get a shot of the lot in the sun? Nope. Too cloudy *sighs*. Carson is spending the time before class on the computers resting his asthma while Artemisia is making use of the workout equipment upstairs. To my complete and utter shock the principal is actually using his office!

Onyx feels like studying for the exams, can’t let their grades slip if they want to earn a horse. They’ve just finished off the chapter when a girl enters the room looking very confused.

Onyx: Hi can I help

Scarlett: Classes haven’t started already have they

Onyx: Nope, I just find that math class is usually a quieter place than the library before school. Are you lost?

The girl furrows her brow and sits on the desk beside them.

Scarlett: A little. It’s my first day

Onyx: Happy belated birthday

Scarlett: *laughs* Thanks

Onyx: My younger brother is starting this week, he might be in your class

Scarlett: I’ll look out for him. What’s his name

Onyx: Fergus

Scarlett: Got it. Do you know where I go to get to art class

Onyx: Sure do. So out the door if you head towards the lockers, turn left before the stairs then take the next left and you’ll be in the art corridor

The bell rings and Scarlett thanks Onyx before dashing out of the room as students begin to drift in.

Why you gotta call me out on my favourite playlist? Fine, it's still the "Songs Taylor Owns" playlist. I mean on spotify I make a new playlist each month and- oh hey it's May here now! Need to make a new one- anyway I'll put songs I want to listen to in that but it's not my favourite at the moment because it's been a whole month. So Taylor Swift it is... we have Cruel Summer. Let me just check my files to see the Pancakes opinions on pop music...

Bob: Neither likes or dislikes pop BUT he likes summer strut music which I'm going to say this could be. He likes dancing so he'd probably have a dance around the kitchen to it.

Eliza: Neither likes or dislikes pop BUT she likes summer strut as well. She also likes singing so she's probably going to be singing along to this one!

Onyx: They like pop music! They'd probably have a little sing along just not with Eliza, but with their friends probably.

Fergus: Dude rolled some weird music taste. He likes winter holiday, R&B, Latin pop and Japanese folk... I'm guessing he would roll his eyes and ignore the song.

haiiii!! my name is kelsey n i am eightteen yrs of age. i have been playing the sims since i was 4 yrs old, and i just recently got the courage to start a newish simblr to interact with fellow simmers. i been lurkin' around and even posted something a lil bit ago. i am wanting to create lookbooks, and gameplay for y'all hopefully!! i am a lil shy n kinda new to posting on socials (besides my personal insta) so pls be patient with my posts and me responding to peeps :3 ˚.°❀⋆.ೃ࿔:･❀ੈ

📩 Simblr question of the day: Do you have a process for making your simblr posts?

I decided to do a separate post, just like what @changingplumbob did a question ago!

Since I mostly do story posts, here is my workflow:

a.) I draft the next story updates. Nothing serious, nothing deep. Just a rough draft that I want to happen. I have drafts in my laptop,

as well as in my phone [spoilers? lol]

Sometimes just one paragraph, or two, as long as I get the gist of it. This draft will be the basis when it comes to shooting the scenes.

b.) Before taking the scenes, I make sure that I have the poses and some specific clothes that I want and need. When it comes to clothing, it's rare that I use specific clothes on some scenes, because I have tons of CC in my mod folder, but I download it in advance. Some of it are already download in advance (that is not yet needed now, but is used far in the future)

b.1.) Sometimes, when I need a certain portrait of a character for a scene that is from a different save file, I make sure I do that first before I load the main save.

b.2.) When I need a certain build for the scenes, I have to build it myself. This is evident with the Strauds' nightclub and the Beau-Asvang's penthouse. It took me weeks to finish these. This is tedious for me, so some updates gets delayed, especially when I feel overwhelmed or bored.

c.) After that, I shoot the scenes. I base my scenes on the draft. This is another tedious part for me, especially if it involves a lot of characters. Sometimes, it has to be in a certain time of day. I don't mess time in that save, because I fear I'll mess up the calendar, so I rely in the fast forward function. The only thing that I mess with it is the weather. It can take me a whole IRL day, or a few days to finish this step.

d.) After taking the scenes, I choose which shots are the best, then delete the rest. I don't edit the photos because the reshade preset I use was made to skip editing it, but will only edit if necessary. No resizing is done (sorry if I'm lazy ;-;).

e.) In this step, the draft that was written before will be finalized once the scenes are done. Most of the time, the drafts get changed, because I change the parts of the story based on the scenes I took. The whole essence or message of the story doesn't change, only the flow and how I structured it will be modified. The finalized script is written in MS Word. A tip for everyone: type the tags you're going to use for the post in the document, so all you have to do is to copy the tags and paste it here in the text editor!

f.) Next, I'll upload the scenes and the script here in my Tumblr drafts. Sometimes, I break the scenes in separate posts, but sometimes I post it in one, depending on the story and the flow.

g.) Finally, I either: queue the posts, or I post it myself. I post the posts that has the "previous | next" links myself, because I want to quickly add the links as soon as I post it. I only queue on some posts, namely Beneath, and New Beginnings.

Again, this is my workflow when it comes to story posts! Gameplay posts like The Life of the Hatcher only get captioned based on the shots, and is not as heavily planned as the DLU (Davis Legacy Universe).

Yes! I think...

First off all the #BehindTheScreen stuff will be screenshots I grab when I am playing. Weird things, annoying things, cute things, whatever catches my eye that I know I may not include in the actual story parts. I'll paste them into a post with the thought that came to mind when it happened and then save the post to my drafts.

Next step is writing to the screenshots I've taken while playing. Some stuff I will have planned, some stuff happened by itself and some conversations lead me to think of things I could do next time I'm in game. I do write a lot of superfluous stuff at times because I enjoy seeing my sims just living.

Then I'll open a new tumblr post, write what chapter/part it is and add the writing as well as the collages of screenshots I make. This part also includes me now making the person speaking bold and giving them a colour to try and make the post easier to read. After it's finished I'll schedule it in the next story timeslot.

After this I'll go back to my drafts and see which behind the screen posts I'll line up to be after the story. Sometimes there'll be a bunch of them and other times I'll realise I have to put in a characters age up post or the intro to the next household etc.

So yeah it's a bit all over the place but there is a process I follow.
