UPCOMING PUBLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Bad Influence Press is thrilled to announce that we will be publishing our first limited run single-author book: an all-new Man From U.N.C.L.E. fancomic written & illustrated by cartoonist Diigii Daguna.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E is considered by many to be the first media fandom, predating even Star Trek. One of the big hits of the ‘60s, it was “part Cold War Spy thriller, part idealistic world history, and part campy escapist entertainment” (Fanlore). Slash and gen fans alike were drawn to the partnership between Napoleon Solo & Illya Kuryakin, American and Russian agents with wildly different world-views… but a deep affection for one another.

Diigii Daguna is an illustrator and graphic designer from Manila, Philippines. They recently published a short collection of Man From U.N.C.L.E. comics and drawings, available here. Hello everyone! I’m sorry for my absence for a while I’ve been super busy with a lot of things but I just want to say that I’ve finally uploaded a digital compilation of some of my The Man from U.N.C.L.E. drawings and strips in one convenient digital zine! :’D  It’s 16+ pages in the PDF and you can absolutely name your price for it! Also this is an update as well! Because i just saw i surpassed a follower milestone and I’m really thankful for all of your support and all you new people! I hope you guys can stick around :’D

When I was watching less than legally, I probably watched somewhere between half an episode to two a day but when I got the dvds I could get through three to five a day

That’s mostly because I’m really bad at concentrating when watching stuff on my computer

I have a question to all the lovely fans of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. : ) Just out of curiosity… How do you watch this show? I mean, how many episodes do you watch (on average) each day/week/month? For me (at least now), I watch an episode par day. However, I might watch more than one during weekends. On one hand, I can’t wait to see what happens next, but on the other, I don’t really want this show to end… what a dilemma!

This is the exact moment I started shipping it

Napoleon’s reaction when he thinks that he’s let Illya down and that Illya is going to die as a result is right up there along with Gurnius as one of the most absolutely heartbreaking moments in the series.

That whole “And may we live to tell the tale” thing he said from earlier was foreshadowing, wasn’t it…?

For a rare moment, we get actual five year old Illya Kuryakin:

So, really, everyone knows the h/c scene when Napoleon attempts his rescue of Illya but I would like to just take a moment and point out the unneccessary leg grabbing because these things are important to me

I’ve certainly never seen this cottage show up in an episode or three before, lmao

I wonder if Mr. Waverly is truly forgetful about what his agents are doing, just doesn’t give a shit, or if he just so used to Illya and Napoleon being balls deep in trouble all the time he stopped worrying about it years ago.

I call for help

I have enough money to live for three more weeks. My family can’t support me and I can’t do it either.

I have spastic cerebral palsy which means I can’t fully control my muscles, especially when I’m nervous/excited/etc. Of course, it makes my life pretty difficult and leads to many other problems. I get exhausted if I do any physical work, because half of my efforts go on fighting myself.

Basically, all I need is living in reasonable comfort and avoiding stressful situations, that’s why I can’t live with my family, they live in Yakutsk and it’s a place where I can’t go outside on my own most of the year because of snow and ice. I also can’t live in the South of Russia, because racism is a thing and I’m Asian.

I moved to South America and I like it here. I have to change countries every 3 months because that’s the amount of time I can spend in them at a time. South America has a lot of countries that don’t require visas from Russian citizens which is rare.

I currently pay about $1000 rent every month and that’s how much money I need to find in the next 3 weeks. I do paint, but my ADHD and bipolar disorder make it a very unreliable occupation. And my social anxiety makes it very difficult to sell my works.

As I live here completely alone, I’m very insecure and it makes it all even worse. But I’m still happy with my life choices, because at least for the first time in my life I can go outside every day and see trees and people. I don’t speak Spanish and it’s alright for me, because I’m more or less ok with being alone.

So, how can you help me? You can donate me some money. Also, you can help me to find somebody to buy my paintings or commission me, because I’m not really motivated to paint for no reason. You can see how my paintings look here, also, note, I only started to paint in 2014 and my spastic palsy makes it very difficult to work. Or else you can help me to find somebody who’d help me to publish my story or something, because I can tell a lot of things, but I need to know that somebody would listen.

So, please, talk about me, share my story, because it’s very unusual and might be motivating. Can I even survive in this world? I ask you to help me.
