Thinking about how actually genius it is to have John Watson be a podcaster. It’s a perfect parallel to him being the one in-universe to write down his and Sherlock’s adventures, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY it keeps John a relevant and proactive character in the stories and the audience has to rely on him to give us all the relevant information so we can try to put together and solve the case, too.

It’s so good because any Sherlock Holmes fan will tell you, there are too many adaptations out there where John as a character really suffers by the story being moved to third person (and sometimes omniscient) and not being beholden to making him a fully formed character - it’s just ticking the Watson box without thinking about why he’s there.

I absolutely will die on this hill, access to fiction that makes your skin crawl and open discussion about it is the best way to keep that skin crawling fiction from happening in reality.

It doesn't matter if it is ~positively~ or negatively portrayed. If you censor it, we don't talk about it, then we can't protect against it.

People who experience romantic and/or sexual attraction are so funny sometimes

They will ask "who's your crush?" And you will answer "i don't have one" and then it starts

"Why are you liying?", "you can trust me", "don't hide", "i don't belive you", "what?! Everyone has one come on", "hmhu it's [name] isn't it?".

in the extreme cases (mine once) they won't let you even leave the conversation and place it started

And so you lie

And when if "confession" comes from "name" and you reject it every single persson who made you lie will be angry.

Honey. Why the fuck are you angry? You decided a lie is more realistic than reality

I personally tend to not really be interested in modern Sherlock Holmes adaptations HOWEVER I do think there's comedic potential in the Holmes Brothers having access to text messages.

What's some advice you wish you received much earlier

"When people come to you to establish a boundary or a need or to express hurt feelings, that's a compliment, not an attack. That is them wanting to develop the relationship and trusting you to listen and care to do better. And no matter how sad you are about accidentally hurting them, it's a GOOD thing that they cared to have a hard conversation with you"

I hope every writer who sees this writes LOADS the next few months. Like freetime opens up, no writers block, the ability to focus, etc etc you're able to write loads & make lots of progress <3
