What do you hope the audience gets out of watching The Winchesters on October 11 and beyond?

Obviously I’m hoping that the audience just gets attached. I’m hoping that they enjoy the show. I’m hoping it’s something that they’ll want to keep coming back for.

To me, it’s story about family. It’s a story about love, and the complexities of what that means. In this world, it’s not just love, there’s a whole supernatural element to it. Personally, in my eyes, it’s a story about the degradation of John Winchester and the fate that Mary Winchester is seemingly doomed to repeat.

Overall, the pilot is a good start and it is clear the dynamic of the group will be what propels the show through the mystery and since they have good chemistry with each other, that promises to be a treat to explore. There are moments of clunky and cheesy writing but the performances make up for that most of the time.

Deadline’s pilot buzz article (released every year) talking about The Winchesters’ chances of getting picked up to series. Take this with a grain of salt because she doesn’t awlays get this right and things rapidly change but the CW will announce next week (May 9th - 13th) whether it’s been ordered. If so, Jensen and Danneel will likely attend The Upfronts in New York on May 19th

CASTING UPDATE

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne alumna Demetria McKinney been cast as a series regular in CW’s The Winchesters drama pilot. The project hails from the Supernatural trio of Robbie Thompson, Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios. Glen Winter (Supergirl) will direct and executive produce the pilot.

McKinney will play Ada Monroe. Studious and sharp, Ada Monroe is a bookstore owner who also takes interest in the mysteries of the occult.
