Sherlock and Co pre-canon headcanons 'cause ehh why not???

Mariana:

was married for a few years after college. It was a guy she met in college, a really sweet and bright relationship, but it didn't last long after college. They're not friends, but also not enemies, just drifted apart and don't talk anymore

was a Spanish tutor for a while, before she found a job at Hudsons. Loved the kids, hated actually explaining her native language and not just using it intuitively

was a very calm teenager and had the Rebellious stage somewhere in her twenties. She hitchhiked a LOT with friends one summer and her many of her favourite memories and funny stories are related to these trips

has an older sibling - and i mean like 10 or more years age gap. Tbh they're not really close

John:

pathological people pleaser as a kid. The First Child. Look at him. Yeah, that's a man who did things just because they were expected from him.

talked to himself a lot while alone, and in his mind in public. i think it's why it's easy for him to record podcasts - he's used to just talking with no one

tried writing blogs and diaries, but it never worked out

Sherlock:

once just shaved his head because summer was awfully hot and he was ALWAYS overstimulated even with short hair. He didn't like it though and never did again

was homeless for a short period of time

met Lestrade when he was arrested. She thought "NOT MY CIRCUS NOT MY MONKEYS" really hard but it didn't work. So she acquired a neurodivergent catastrophe. Sherlock pretends not to like her, but actually respects her and cares about her opinion and well-being (and vice versa)

changed multiple schools as kid due to various reasons (aka being neurodivergent and probably undiagnosed), was finally sent to a small boarding school. Not ideal, but better than others

Since Watson is canonically an unreliable narrator, anything could have plausibly happened behind the closed doors of 221B. He doesn't tell us readers everything. Any sort of twist could have happened during a case that he couldn't write for the public... Like all those times he kissed Sherlock Holmes.

Most people drawing Sherlock & Co. Watson give him quite a but of hair, but I WILL defend anyone who gives him scars (due to being a medic in the army and the. Uh. Explosion). Same goes for Sherlock because he's a dumbass.

Seeing fanart of a character being drawn as skinny when they're not supposed to be SKINNY is the most enraging thing ever, especially when said character was only skinny because of a bad period of their life and yes I am talking about my guy Watson who did not suffer during the war and come back to be REHABILLITATED and become HEALTHY by gaining weight he SHOULD NOT have lost just to be drawn looking extra skinny when, in fact, beefcake Watson is the best and healthiest and happiest version of Watson. Holmes and Mrs Hudson would have been going out of their way to make sure that this poor traumatised doctor was being fed, please don't dismiss their good work.

I DO want a scene of Mariana being like “Sherlock I’m almost convinced you don’t actually know my name” in a one-on-one scene with those two because we’ve gotten so close a couple times now-

But also Mariana making sure to tell Sherlock to get out of the house and call her, telling John to call Sherlock while he’s away, and trying to give details on how to best keep the office if they have a case while she’s gone makes me so happy.

We don’t get to hear from her because we have to follow the cases, but she’s had just as much time as John and Sherlock to become friends and we only get to see it in these brief moments how close they all are now, I love her so much.

I've seen a few posts about people saying Mariana is portrayed as a "stereotypical millennial" or like a basic woman and I figured I'd give my takes on that.

People are mad that Mariana likes Harry Potter and Taylor Swift? Like tons of people like those things so what makes that strange? Is it a stereotype or is it just a character that enjoys popular things? Watson likes sports and shit but I don't see people calling him a "stereotypical white man." Why is it the one female lead is being slandered for enjoying popular media but the others aren't?

People don't talk about Sherlock being an autistic stereotype bc his comfort food is a basic pasta. People don't talk about Watson being basic for his taste in media yk. I find it strange that the one female lead is getting these complains but not the others.

Now I can agree with the fact that the creator of Harry Potter is problematic, but that doesn't mean you can hate her as a character for that. In all fairness, Harry Potter is a popular ip and it isn't suprising to hear it mentioned in media. To act like people cannot be a fan of these medias in unrealistic. Same with Taylor Swift it is strange to call her basic for being a fan of a popular media. If you have issues with these medias that is one thing but to hate a fictional character for mentioning/liking them is strange.
