When it comes to gender integration in sports, I think it's worth considering how not only the athletic performances of women tend to be underestimated, but a lot of sport culture, and what it worships tends to focus on specifiic "masculine" advantages (height, weight, brute strength) at the expense of more "feminine" physical advantages (flexibility, relative strength, long-term endurance) and that maybe desegregating sports could require us to reexamine what sports are to our society, and the implicit values held by our current goals and competitive standards
