Tanthamore (Kit Tanthalos/Jade Claymore, Willow 2022) 14. ...casually "All right," Kit said, shoving her chair back and standing up from the breakfast table. "I'm gonna ride out with the morning patrol, get a look at the reinforcements along the barrier." Quick as a butterfly's wing, she bent and placed a brief yet substantially affectionate kiss on Jade's mouth, nodded to her mother, and dashed out of the room. Jade stiffened, eyes slowly sliding to Sorsha, sitting at the head of the table. She had no idea what Kit had or hadn't discussed with the Queen since they returned; she'd been prepared to go on much as they had before, in public at least. A devoted knight, a good friend, and nothing more. Kit, it would seem, had other ideas... She caught the Queen with a look of surprise on her face, a subtle lift of the eyebrows, quickly smoothed over. Sorsha inclined her head graciously in Jade's direction. "I'm so relieved Kit is taking her duties more seriously these days. I suppose I have you to thank for instilling some sense of responsibility in my headstrong daughter?" Jade laughed. "Not at all, Your Majesty. Kit does as Kit does." The Queen smiled warmly. "Please, call me Sorsha." Send me a Ship and a Number and I will Write a Kiss

The Final Chapter

Armouriam’s One Year Anniversary

Two months had passed since the worst day of Jade’s life. Today was supposed to be the best. Kit had promised as much a year ago. She’d gifted her girlfriend the jade stone necklace that now lay like a cold memory on her own chest, and Kit had promised that 365 days later, she’d get down on one knee.

A foolish, naive, hopeful Jade still wishes for it to happen. She wishes that she’ll walk out of the bedroom to find Kit covered in flour, attempting Elora’s buttered muffin recipe or frying bacon. She wishes that when she walks downstairs to the gym, Kit will be in an archery lane, shooting arrows instead of turning on the lights and opening the gym. She hopes that when she closes, Kit will take her hand, and lead her up stairs, that they’ll start to get changed into something nice for dinner, only to forgo the plans altogether in favor of skin sliding against skin. She wishes for Kit’s question to spill over kiss-swollen lips as she kneels beside their bed.

But the kitchen is empty and Jade opens the gym all alone.

The Senses (a kinkverse story)

On occasion, Kit’s job takes her away from the haven of her home with Jade, but when the time apart goes unexpectedly long due to a storm, she’s left unmoored and reckless. Once they’re finally back home together, Jade decides to take into her own hands a plan to settle the balance between them. But first, Kit must earn back each of her senses: sound, smell, sight, taste and finally…touch.

In June 2023, @acre-of-wheat invited me to play in the Kinkverse sandbox. Quickly, the initial idea of The Senses started to form. It's hard to believe it's been nearly a year of slowly working through this, but it's finally complete in time for Acre's birthday.

When a quest goes wrong, fabled adventurer Kit Tanthalos returns home to her small hamlet to pick up the pieces of her life. She leaves her own cottage empty to move in with her childhood friend Elora, the village’s healer. In an effort to keep herself busy, Kit finds peace and a bit of magic in the work of a thread and needle. And with that, comes an unexpected calling and the opportunity to fix what went wrong on the quest she and Jade accomplished for the Crown Prince.

Summary: so.. here it is the conclusion of the original storyline. Ideally this chapter is happening soon after the closure of chapter 10 (maybe you might want to read it again before reading this new one 😊). Let’s see if Jade is finally able to overcome the rule that she had put to their marriage.
