Monster Hunter Wilds Symbology from the recent trailer
Tumblr media
Nata's Necklace is similar to the Egg shape seen in the lower part of the Main Symbol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Below - To the left and right are more smaller dragon ring motifs, while a larger one more similar to the central two can be seen, it notably has a small wing like structure at the "shoulder", appearing similar to Shantien
I will note that each of the smaller ring dragons appears to have two sets of feet on the inside of the ring, with two additional ones paired beneath its head. (I could be wrong about that tbh)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Character renders on the Playstation blog appear to feature the main hunters symbol analagous to Kamura's star or Elgado's ship
Appears to be a bird and a plant surrounding the guild symbol, although I have not been able to find a good view of its head.
The symbol on the right is a small one used as a pointer on the official capcom website, I believe it to be a representation of a birds head

Other symbol examples can be seen below + an example circuitboard for comparison to some of the shape language used in a lot of these symbols

Rise/Sunbreak Switch Skills List:
1 - Morph Slash - The attack which swaps between axe and sword mode and vice versa, unchanged from World/Iceborne. 1 - Counter Morph Slash - A slower and more damaging version of Morph Slash, both directions have a guard point at the beginning of the attack, and a followup SAED from one of these guard points with deal increased damage.
2 - Condensed Elemental Slash - The sword charging mechanic from World/Iceborne, its duration has been buffed. 2 - Condensed Spinning Slash - Using the same input as Condensed Elemental Slash, spins up the Axe Blade to allow all axe attacks to saw into the enemy when the button is held. Attacking like this three times will refill one phail. Exiting axe mode will cause you to exit this mode. Does not require the shield to be charged unlike Condensed Elemental Slash.
3 - Phail Follow-up - The normal behavior for phails applied by the Condensed Elemental Slash charged sword. 3 - Phail Follow-up: Firing Pin - An alternate form where phails will accumulate on the monster as you hit them, requiring a hit by the axe to activate, dealing more total damage and extending the time that both the sword and the shield are charged.
4 - Counter Peak Performance - Blocks a single attack, filling all of the shields phails and allowing you to continue into SAED. 4 - Axe Hopper - Levers off of the axe into the air, allowing you to direct an aerial variant of the SAED which does more damage. 4 - Ready Stance - Enters a defensive stance which can combo into any axe attack, in addition to acting like a guard point with less impact. Since it is able to be entered from Axe Mode, it makes the state more defensive. Synergizes with Condensed Spinning Axe very well, as it allows the second Elemental Discharge attack which spins twice to be looped, conserving phails and dealing high damage to downed opponents.
5 - Morphing Advance - Moves around 3 dodges worth of distance while entering Axe Mode, allowing you to follow it up with SAED very well. During the movement you are immune to knockback, allowing it to super armor through roars etc. 5 - Air Dash - Leap into the air with two axe attacks, before ending with a mid-air phail explosion that sends you flying. During the initial leap you have super armor. Synergizes very well with Condensed Spinning Axe, as you can prolong the super armor massively by holding the button while attacking the monster.

FINAL LESSON - SPINNING AXE HELLBLADE DESTRUCTION FOREVER 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
An alternative cancel from the Super Amped Elemental Discharge, performed by pressing Left rather than Right Trigger after pressing Triangle + Circle in axe mode. You perform an angled axe attack, charging up the axe and making it spin in subsequent attacks!
Every attack used in axe mode will then deal additional damage as it travels through the monster, chewing through sharpness and phails.
Lining this attack up to travel through the monster lengthwise can increase the damage dramatically!
The main drawback to this mode is that it chews through phails at a rate of 1 every 20~30 seconds, at zero phails the state will stop, requiring you to switch into sword mode to rebuild the phails to continue attacking.
The attack which puts you in this state also has a Guard Point before it strikes, occasionally allowing you to guard an attack after initiating an SAED!

Certain Charge Blades have a greyed out "Hidden" element in their stats, unlocking it using the skill Free Element/Ammo Up will not transform the Phail's into the element type, instead it will apply elemental damage on all physical strikes.

The most powerful skill for the Charge Blade is Offensive Guard, a skill introduced in the late game which boosts the damage of the weapon by up to 15% for a while after perfectly blocking an attack, allowing you to counterattack with a Super Amped Elemental Discharge!

Powerful Dragon Element weapons will have the "Elderseal" property, which can help weaken especially powerful late game monsters termed Elder Dragons

Certain attacks are impossible to block with the shield under normal circumstances, however equipping armor with the Guard Up skill (not the guard skill) will allow even strong attacks to be defended against.

Major Lesson #3 - Guard Points
An integral part of the Charge Blade moveset, Guard Points allow the hunter to quickly respond to Monster attacks by blocking attacks during certain moves, opening up retaliations when the correct moves are blocked!
An attack blocked in this manner will knock you back less and deal less chip damage, along with allowing you to follow up with a Super Amped Elemental Discharge by pressing Circle + Triangle
Although no specific move is solely present for its guard point, some are much more useful than the others:
Sword to Axe Transition Attack - (Right Trigger + Triangle in Sword) - Right after jamming the sword into the shield, a somewhat generous guard point is present. This attack is the main one to use when attempting to use guard points, as it is easy to time once you have gotten used to it.
Sliding Slash - (Circle mid-combo in Sword) - During the end of the attack, a small window opens, but is difficult to land.
Axe to Sword Transition Attack - (Right Trigger + Triangle in Axe) - Similar to Sliding Slash, right at the end of the spinning attack it guards. This move can be useful when you need to block an attack out of axe mode, but the timing is difficult.
Spinning Slash - (Final Triangle combo attack in Sword) - Highly unlikely to happen purposefully since you have to use an entire combo, happens near the end of the attack.
HIDDEN ATTACK - (You will know soon enough) - This one will have functionality, but will remain hidden until the final tooltip.
As an added extra bonus, Guard Pointing an attack will release a small phail explosion, potentially allowing you to stun a monster as it attack your shield!

Attacking with the sword and being more passive is a good strategy when fighting a new monster, guarding attacks rather than avoiding them. This allows a hunter to see all of the Monsters attacks before engaging with Axe Mode!

Using a combination of dodges, Advancing Slashes (Circle + Triangle while in sword mode) and sliding slashes (Circle mid-combo while in sword mode) allows Charge Blade's sword mode to maintain constant movement while attacking!
