Gabriel chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Ah, a talented cook, you say? Now that's a wonderful skill to have. Cooking is an art just as much as crafting lace, though perhaps with slightly different ingredients and tools. I must admit, I'm quite curious now. If your cooking is anything like your presence, I imagine it's nothing short of delightful."
Hannah couldn’t help but blush yet she didn’t fall right away for his charms. She wasn’t like the young women who tripped over themselves at the sight of a man flirting with them. It took time for her. ‘’I do have my own talents. My mother loved my cooking. I don’t know if it rivals lacework but I enjoy it.’’

gabriel's smile widened as he listened to her response, intrigued by her wit and assertiveness. "if it is i have yet to experience such traits from the women of london. however i am used to the women of america, who are far more outspoken than the fragile flowers of england.”
and if someone were to describe the princess of korea … well, they would most certainly not use the words "a good person" when doing so. ji-won does like it this way, so less people will bother her, and her reputation does most of her work. still on guard, her gaze climbs up, small smile tugging at the red of her lips. she ought to not be so bold in her movements. a princess wouldn’t, this is for sure.
"something of that sort, i am sure." she can’t say this delicate lace is her style, no. but it’s intricate. pastel. pretty. she prefers bold, vibrant, bleeding in strength. "thank you, kind sir. i will be sure to inform my mother the great lengths it took to get her these.” not that the woman would care, but what would the man know ? "besides, i do find local craftsmen are craftsmen for a reason, not due to nepotism. is such boldness not a thing for the women of london?“

"come now, i find it difficult to believe that a woman such as yourself does not get the attention she deserves.” he tilted his head to the side, looking over her once more, dark brown eyes showing clear interest. upon her joke he laughed, unable to help himself. “i’m afraid i have only just arrived in london. my apologies for not coming here sooner.”
“oh there is nothing wrong with being a flatterer for it makes those of us who don’t get as much attention still feel as though we are still noticed,” pausing she gave him a small look with a raised brow, “so long as you are meaning no ill intent or getting some pour lady’s hopes up only to dash them all,” primrose jested. “you are quite the breath of fresh air, can i ask why it is only now that i am running into you?”

"ah, well, I must admit that avoiding the wrath of your mother is indeed a wise course of action," gabriel replied with a playful twinkle in his eyes, matching her soft chuckle. "and please, do not trouble yourself any further. your momentary distraction has granted me the pleasure of this delightful encounter."
her head dipped ever so slightly at his words, her lips still curled into their apologetic smile before she glanced back up at him slowly. "ahh but if i did not apologize then my mother would surely have my head for not being proper," she rambled softly with a small tilt to her head. "no i am perfectly alright, just feeling a tad silly for not paying attention which will change this very moment," ophelia stated with a soft chuckle and a shake of her head.

gabriel flashed a warm smile, unable to help himself. "ah, my apologies if i come across as a flatterer. It is not my intention to use the same words on every lady I encounter," he replied with a hint of amusement in his voice. "you see, each person I meet is unique and deserves to be treated as such. though that may seem as though i charm someone, i simply wish to indulge them further.”
she felt a heavy sigh escape her, it was the same words she always heard whenever her mother was mentioned and it grew exhausting but she shoved it aside. “well my mother does not venture out much as of late so it’s the least i can do when something such as this comes around,” she mused softly as she turned her glance back towards him. “and you sir are nothing but a flatterer, does this kind of talk work on all the ladies?”

gabriel couldn't help but smile down at the young woman, extending his hands to steady her somewhat. "there is no need to apologize, my lady," he replied graciously, his voice soothing and composed. "accidents can happen in the midst of such joyful gatherings. I'm just relieved you're not injured."

so far the fete had been fun and exciting, she was loving every minute of it. ophelia was glad that she had let her mother talk her into coming to the event she had almost chosen to stay home. with some precious goodies tucked into her purse that hung on her wrist, the young cavendish smiled softly as she strolled down the lane, she didn't even notice him until she had ran head first into him. "my deepest apologies my lord," she breathed as glanced at him apologetically.

gabriel's charming smile only widened into a grin in response to the woman’s sarcastic remark. her candidness was entertaining, and he always enjoyed a slight challenge. leaning slightly closer, he maintained an air of suave confidence as he replied, "ah, my dear, you see through me so effortlessly. it seems I've been caught red-handed trying to entertain myself amidst this sea of pretence."
he gestured toward the lace on display, his dark eyes momentarily twinkling with genuine admiration. "but I must admit, my compliments to the lace vendor were sincere. however, i find myself far more captivated by the enchanting wit and refreshing honesty of the lady before me."
josephine didn’t know why she had attended the fete, she would have preferred to be at home doing nothing. enjoying the silence instead of being surrounded by those who tried too hard to impress others. even now as she listened to the mans comments she couldn’t help but roll her eyes slightly as she pursed her lips. “does that work on everyone or are you simply bored and trying to find your next victim?” she questioned with a small scoff before glancing up at him.

"And why is that? A lovely young lady such as yourself is something that would catch many men's attentions." for once his words were genuine, a kindness in his voice that he reserved for few. To see a young woman so clearly doubting herself was a pity, and if a few charming words could cheer her up then he would happily do so.
Eloise blinked. She hadn't expected that at all. She never thought that people would compliment her. "I somehow doubt that."

gabriel's dark brown eyes twinkled with amusement as he observed the young woman's subtle power play. her eloquent words and confident demeanour caught his attention, and he couldn't help but be intrigued by her display of wealth and sophistication.
"ah, my dear lady, no need to apologize at all. It seems we share a similar appreciation for exquisite things," gabriel replied with a courteous nod, his disarming smile still in place. "If you wish to have those pieces, then they are yours. your generosity in supporting local craftsmen is commendable. besides, it’s refreshing to see a woman go for what she wants."
her mother likes these. simple things, innocent thing. and though the current empress was no peasant in korea, neither was she a noble woman, and so ji-won has always taken into consideration the world her mother had come from when buying gifts - if given any at all. she doesn’t enjoy it, you see, considering the woman didn’t bother to protect her children when push come to shove, but ji-won must show face. the proper daughter, the princess who loves her mother just as much as her nation. after all, the woman was empress.
she knows he’s not talking to her, dark eyes flashing up through painted lashes, pale fingers gently picking up the lace - and ji-won chooses to make a power play. to get to know the people in london, how they react to a woman with her mannerisms, without the title, but with all the money. the day her brother died, the day she got far better at reading people. "my mother adores pieces such as these, madam -“ and her voice is a bit louder, nimble fingers scooping up some of particularly expensive ones, head tilting to the side. head tilts up towards the man, head tilting to the side, and back to the vendor, before dropping a small ( but obviously full ) bag of money on the table. "i am sorry if i interrupted you, my lord. once i see something i want, i must have it." the lie slips easily from painted lips.

gabriel chuckled softly, charmed by the woman’s wit. it was rare for a woman to see through his playful façade, eyes gleaming in amusement. "ah, but my dear, it's all in good fun," he replied, his charm undeterred by her scepticism. "i must admit that playing the rogue comes naturally to me, and i find it quite entertaining to see the reactions it elicits from people."

gabriel’s smile widened slightly at the woman’s playful remark, his dark brown eyes gleaming with amusement. “ah, my dear lady, you have caught me in the act,” he replied with a touch of jest in his velvety tone. “i suppose it is true that i reserve this particular charm for moments of delightful encounters such as this.”
“Rather predictable of you.” She retorted, eyes rolling before hands placed firmly on her hips. She had seen ladies of the ton often swoon for such lines, and deemed it tragic that they could be so easily fooled by a man of his deception. “I pity the ladies who fall for it.”

"Ah of course...but what a pity that would be, for you to hide away amongst the flowers when there are many that would be enticed to meet you."
"I've never enjoyed them. I would much rather be out in the garden exploring."

She had made her way to the local stalls, hoping to indulge in some sweet treats and finery. She was also thankful for a break from ton members, not wishing to hear the words of ‘love’ and endearment coming from those who had bid. She was more intrigued by the surroundings, and hidden delicacies she could find. Approaching a stall, Vanessa stood, gazing over the craftmanship. Eyes move to the male as he speaks, rolling in return. “Do you speak in such a way all of the time? or just when you are trying to have your way with a lady?”

gabriel's charming smile grew as he acknowledged the young lady who had been lost in her search for the perfect gift for her mother. he listened intently to her words, finding her presence intriguing and her choice of gifts endearing.
"my lady, your thoughtful intention to bring something exquisite to your mother warms my heart." gabriel replied, his velvety tone carrying genuine admiration. "you have a discerning eye for beauty, just like your mother, i'm sure. allow me to assist you in finding the perfect lacework that will make her heart soar."
she had been busy looking at the things scattered about, looking for something special to bring back home to her mother who had chosen to remain at home. she was almost out of luck when she crossed the embroidery, it was then that she knew she had found the perfect pieces. something here would surely bring her mother some joy.
she had been so lost in thought, looking for the perfect piece when the new voice had made her jump ever so slightly. “my lord,” she stated in an apologizing tone paired with a simple nod of her head, “yes the pieces here are quite lovely. i’m currently looking for something to take home to my mother, she has always been fond of work such as this,” she commented before shooting the person behind the stall a kind smile.

Gabriel turned to face Hannah, his disarming smile widening at the sight of her. "Ah, indeed, lace is a thing of beauty, much like yourself," he replied, his voice smooth and gentle, as if carrying a melody. "But don't sell yourself short, my dear. I'm sure you possess your own unique talents and charm that rival even the finest lacework."
Currently Hannah was walking around seeing the different vendors. She only had one picnic date so she had the free time to herself although the crowds were making her anxious. Her blonde hair was currently down since she could be a little more relaxed as she walked around.
She stopped to watch a vendor that had different articles they made of lace. She was about to compliment them when she heard a voice come up from behind her. ‘’I was about to say the same. I wish I had craftsmanship like that. Lace is beautiful..’’ She spoke softly with a smile.

As he ordered his scotch Gabriel's eyes scanned the room, seeking a quiet corner where he could relax and unwind after a day spent navigating the treacherous waters of high society, and the pub he stood in now seemed perfect for it. Spotting an unoccupied table near the hearth, he made his way there, acknowledging the nods and curious glances from the regular patrons as he passed by.
The warmth from the crackling fire in the hearth enveloped him as he settled into the wooden chair, embracing him like an old friend. He loosened the top button of his tailored waistcoat, feeling the tension from the day slowly melt away, eyes searching the lively place with a quiet interest.
