So a friend conducted this great interview with Sid, that’s part of why I’m posting it, but I also love this because as a longtime SCSC person I feel like this one really captures more than any other interview what the experience of talking to him is like, especially in how if he’s comfortable with you he will just run his mouth without thinking of what he’s blurting out, haha (so yes, he has that in common with his most famous character) but also be very smart and thoughtful.
There’s a lot of stuff that I think my fellow Garashir girlies will particularly enjoy!
#soooooo much going on in this interview I have so many Thoughts.................#funniest part to me though is when he goes ''thank god they didn't make garashir explicit because any kind of sex would have been#out of my wheelhouse at that age''#cause like in other circumstances that'd be a lame straight man cop-out but given that he's the no. 2 garashir warrior in the world#and that he literally says that from the start he played Julian being into Garak intentionally and that he himself is not straight (!!!??)#it just makes you go like um. sir. you did plenty of kissing and romantic storyline stuff on the show at that age.#So just how explicit were you imagining this relationship getting 0w0#Also all his thoughts on Julian’s Arabness not being emphasized...... too many thoughts I need to make a whole separate post on the subject#cause I agree but also disagree with some bits. #I am once again thinking about Him (un-augmented!Julian my beloved) #Unfortunately Garak LOVES the buzzer. It's like a Pavlovian bell to him. The opposite of a deterrent. #obviously the AAC devices of the 23rd century will be far more advanced than this but perhaps they still include buttons/typing as a backup #in case there's an issue with the tech that translates ur thoughts directly to words (I picture it working via a device #that looks like a modern-day hearing aid; it wirelessly syncs with UTs of course) #also the devices will surely be able to recite the words in your own voice (or any voice you choose) #but it IS funny to imagine the Majel Barrett computer voice flatly declaring ''Garak That Is The Most Ridiculous Lie I've Ever Heard'' (x)
Un-augmented Julian Bashir who programs a special button on his AAC device just for talking to Garak. It makes a loud incorrect buzzer noise.

Inktober 21st!
After I made the sketch for this I looked through my sideblog for garashir things I’d reblogged. I came across this scene at least twice - as in Garak ranting about something over coffee or lunch, and Bashir either looking at him lovingly, or ranting right back. So it’s not all that original, but it’s just a nice image, isn’t it?
(It’s actually based on a Critical Role gifset of Travis as Fjord looking lovingly admiringly at Caduceus - spreading some wisdom no doubt.)
