8. Your overall reflections on the internship and your studies.
My time at Holmesglen and the VAFA have taught me a lot. They have allowed me to understand the importance of many skills. These include my interpersonal and social skills, my organisational skills and my time management. Learning how to budget my tasks and time effectively, has allowed me to do the best possible work i can do. Richardson (et al., 2012, p. 92) reiterate the importance of developing various skills to help increase performance in the workplace stating the development of nonacademic skills such as interpersonal skills and forming social relationships, coping and stress management, as well as organisational skills, were recognised as being just as important as academic skills for successful integration into the new university environment Having structures and routines, played an integral role in my being able to meet deadlines, and have a sufficient amount of time to get my assignments and work done. As far as my studies go, learning about various subjects like marketing, public relations, and sports business, has allowed me to diversify my skills and attributes and allow me to come to a better well-rounded worker and person. A really beneficial aspect of my studies has come from my presenting in class, it has allowed me to develop a strong sense of confidence in myself to get up and speak to a number of people, and convey my points in a professional, clear and informative manner. Jean-Pierre (et al., 2012, p.6) reaffirm this notion by suggesting that building personal and professional self-confidence can propel adult learners to overcome personal fears, and gather the courage to lead dynamic oral presentations and projects in their current or future careers. One of the best takeaways from my internship and studies would be the way I was able to build and develop networks over the years. I came to understand the importance of building relationships with people in your industry, and always making yourself available for a helping hand. It is very important to familiarise yourself with as many people in the industry as possible, making sure that you connect with them as you may need their help with an area of work, an opinion, or even a job in the future. I loved the ability to learn and talk about sports for the last 4 years. It made me really enjoy my work for the university, and feel as though the work I was doing was much easier as it was based on things I had a vested passion for. It allowed me to constantly stayed motivated and intrigued with current classes, and assignments, as it surrounded subjects that I would do research on in my free time. Overall I learnt many different skills and attributes throughout my internship and studies, however, I feel as though my biggest lesson was realising if you have a passion for something it enables you to work much harder at it, as you have an emotional investment to it. 7. Reflection on your supervisor evaluations and how these align with your future career professional development requirements (these will be available at different times for individual students)
I am quite pleased after reviewing what my internship supervisor (Glen Towers) has said about me. It has given me clarity and reassurance of some aspects I thought I was quite good at, but also provides me with some things to continue to work on, and audit throughout my career. I found it very useful and informative to be evaluated during my time with the VAFA. Understanding what my strengths and weaknesses are from an outside perspective allows me to better understand what I am capable of doing very well, and what I can do to help better critique my weaknesses. Jenkinson & Oakley, (2013, p.225) reinforce this notion by stating that understanding one’s own strengths and weaknesses are widely acknowledged as a key component of becoming an effective leader, as well as a team player. I feel being self-aware is an imperative skill to obtain in our arsenal. Being humble and conscious enough to realise that you are not as good or skilled, is a very crucial skill to have and can have a positive effect on your career. It allows you to spend time and focus on areas you need to address, and can play a pivotal role in your growth not only as a person but as a colleague and worker also. One of the strengths Glen suggested that I display is a ‘positive attitude.’ I understand the importance of having a good attitude as it boosts overall morale, and can contribute to making a much happier and more energetic workplace. Anglim et al., (2019, p.4) reaffirm this notion by suggesting that people with positive attitudes often emphasise the benefits of diversity and inclusion and the importance of creating a respectful and tolerant workplace. One of the skills I've always tried to display from a young age is being a team player for my team. I feel it has a catastrophic effect on the end goal not just for yourself but for the team also. Lending a hand and making your teammate's life or task easier will not only improve relationships and the environment in the workplace but will also ensure that the quality of work being produced is at a much higher level. Overall, I am quite happy with my evaluation, although there was not much hands-on work I had completed, I felt that the services I provided every day made one or more persons' lives a little easier, and that makes me feel good. The experience was great and I will remember it forever, I appreciate every single colleague I worked with. Referecnes for Entry 7 Jenkinson, J., Oakley, C., & Mason, F. (2013). 6. Career aspirations include goal setting (you will arrange an interview with the Holmesglen Skills & Jobs Centre to review your CV, interview skills and preparedness for applying for work post-studies).
My interview with the Holmesglen Skills and Jobs Centre was short but was also good to learn a couple of points that will be necessary moving forward relative to my CV.
As I am starting my own social media marketing agency, I do not need a cover letter, or a resume handy, however, I still was eager to learn about what I needed improvement on.
I spoke with a woman named Ella, and she told me that my cover letter was up to a very high standard. What she proposed I should add to my resume was a couple of referees which I thought was a good point, as it allows the employer to get an outward perception of who I am as a person and a worker. All I needed to include was their name their current title and some contact information. So I learnt that it is vital to find people who respect what I have been able to do while working under them, or if they think I am a valuable member of society.
After finishing my degree, I feel I am as ready as ill ever be to get my hands dirty and work really hard. My goal is to over the next 3-6 months to go into essentially ‘monk mode’ which is a skill used by successful people that allow you to disengage from society, and remove distractions internally and externally. In this mode you are going all in on your goals and objectives both from a fitness and business standpoint. I want to challenge myself to work as hard as I can both on my body and mind, without participating in going out, sleeping in, drinking with friends, and eating bad food.
My goals are to scale my business to bring in 20-50k a month with my business partner, and the way we are able to do this is to hold each other accountable and work with one another every day to achieve something great from nothing.
We are starting a social media marketing agency that allows us to help promote and generate revenue for e-comm brands through TikTok, and user-generated content.
Kaplan and Haenlein, (2010, as cited in Keegan & Rowley, 2017, p.4 refer to a social media marketing agency as a group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0 and that allow the creation and exchange of User Generated Content (Kaplan and Haenlein, 2010, p.61).

5. Achievements and milestones (both technically and professionally, during the internship and personally)
One achievement I encountered throughout my time at the VAFA was developing a really good understanding of excel spreadsheets, and also increasing my ability from an accounting perspective. These days, It is imperative that you have adequate skills in Excel, so this has helped me develop far greater confidence for when I enter the workforce. Lee et al), 2018, p. 46) reinforce this notion stating that excels importance is not just limited to public accounting and serves a large purpose in many other areas of expertise and industries too. It has been identified that a list of 37 skills and competencies are associated with spreadsheet expertise.
Another achievement of mine during my internship was my ability to increase my time management skills. During the last couple of months, I have been working at my job, doing overtime and weekends, my uni classes, and then my internship. The experience as a whole was beneficial, as I was able to complete all that was required of me and budget my time well, to ensure that I was delivering results for all 3 of my commitments. Having relatively no free time allowed me to become much more productive than I first anticipated, as I only had a short amount of blocks to get my assignments done and catch up with work. It allowed me to focus and get what was required of me done, or ultimately suffer.
I made a conscious effort to plan out my days at the start of the week and get a good understanding of what times I would need to get my work done, so I knew that at that specific time I needed to do it. This allowed me to have clear and defined goals and objectives throughout the week which allowed me to clearly understand what I needed to keep my head above water. Thomack (2012, p. 201) reiterates this notion by stating that successful time managers begin with a plan for available time and then manage within that time. Those skilled in time management set deadlines and tackle their most difficult projects at the time of day they are at their best.
A personal achievement of mine over the last couple of months was having a strict routine, diet, and goals. This has honestly helped me in various ways, both personally and professionally. Prioritising healthy eating, good sleep, plenty of exercises and completing my assignments all played a part in helping me be happy but also mature. Setting mini challenges for myself each day under any of those areas started before, gave me the confidence and purpose to remain motivated and do my best in all aspects of my life.

4.Challenges you faced (the nature of the work, working hours, organisation, motivation, tabling of ideas).
During my time at the VAFA, one of the challenges I faced was motivation, there were days when I was doing uninspiring and dry work. These ranged from filling up the drinks in the bar, packing up the function room, and unboxing footballs just to name a few. After a certain point, it becomes hard to muster up the same motivation and dedication to my work when you are not getting paid. Furthermore, it made it hard to be motivated when I was doing tasks that were not related to partnerships and marketing which was the main component of my internship.
I think another challenge I faced was not being able to get in a good groove, as I was only at VAFA HQ for 1 day of work. This allowed me to not get into a good rhythm and flow and caused me to not be as invested in my work as I probably would have liked. The challenge I faced was the overall types of work I was doing compared to my job in sales. Becoming accustomed to the way the days were planned, and coming from a sales background is the same thing day after day, however coming in and doing different things every day in a different workplace was a challenge.
Another challenge I had was not being able to do any work entirely by myself, with my spin on it. I was doing work that was fairly straightforward with supervision, which was good, however, it didn’t allow me to learn more about the nuts and bolts, and think for myself from dealing with partnerships and marketing perspectives.
The main challenge I faced however was not being financially compensated for the work I put in. Overall, 228 hours is 28.5 days worth of work, which is virtually a month of working with no pay. Although it is a very good learning experience it was hard to come to work, day after day, with no true incentive to get the job done after a while. Gashaw (2019, p. 22) confirmed this notion by stating that a poll was based on 85 students with other problems. 27 (32%) of the responses were on the financial strain. This was made worse by the fact there was no monetary compensation for the work done at the company.
Over the 29 days, there were various things that I felt were quite challenging to do, or quite challenging to adapt to. However, this internship has allowed me to grow by being put in situations I like and some citations I don't like. (Hora et al., 2020) Internships are widely touted as co-curricular activities that may enhance students’ employment prospects and future earnings, while also meeting employer talent needs. I need to understand and adapt to this type of work style and prepare for the environment I will be integrated into for the rest of my professional career.

3. Becoming an effective team member and contributor: how did utilise the support of your supervisor/co-workers to help build your confidence and become more efficient as an intern (this may include feedback, training or other support/opportunities)?
Since my first day at the VAFA, I knew it was imperative to be an effective team member and contributor to not only Glen Towers (my boss) but the organisation as a whole. There are a couple of different departments, these include marketing, media, umpires association, admin, and commentary. So I knew that it was my job to make everyone's life as easy as possible and help out where I could. Being able to help each and every person out, allowed me to build confidence and become more effective in the way I conducted myself, but also helped me become a more well-rounded intern.
I was primarily under Glen Towers, however every so often I was asked to help out where I could. One task that I thoroughly enjoyed was helping out Cam Voss (Media Manager) in terms of collating all the MVP voting and rankings for each and every game in Premier 1. Doing different tasks that were not related to commercial partnerships/ marketing, allowed me to diversify my skills and knowledge, and also understand another part of their business.
During my time at the VAFA, working with all various departments was beneficial for me as it allowed me to be comfortable, but also learn as many skills as possible. Helping each department with work made my life and theirs more enjoyable, and helped me develop a greater sense of comradery. Sanyal & Hisam, (2022) reiterates this notion by stating that Teamwork can enable the members of the team to have a higher level of emotional security, self-confidence and the ability to plan and decide with others positively. Also, it helps in creating a healthy work environment with workable agendas, creative activities, positive strategies and values.
I was asked to do the majority of the tasks I was given to be completed on my own, this allowed me to develop more confidence as I was relying on only myself to get the work done. It was a good, and also imperative pressure to face when being an intern as you want to submit the work to the best of your ability, and do it by yourself. By doing tasks on my own in high regard it allowed me to feel as though I was providing great help to my co-workers and being a team player, as I was able to make their lives much easier in any capacity I could.

Finding your feet in the internship: induction, and completing initial tasks (i.e. the first 40 hours of discussion)
The first couple days of working there in my case were quite daunting, due to being in a workforce and not a classroom. It was definitely a shock, just sitting in an office doing work that contributes to an actual business organisation, and not so much as listening in a class and getting assignments in on time.
In the early stints of my internship I was asked to do a fair bit of data entry, this was intimidating to do, more so because they were dependent on me to do the job perfectly. However, I quickly found my feet and developed a good understanding of what was required of me. I was asked to set up a document and do a simple Head 2 Head of the teams in Premier 1 for the upcoming games, to help with the commentary and stats for the games that week. I had to go back and check every game they have played against each other, and provide the scores of those games, and the overall win/loss tally.
Another one of the first projects I was asked to do, was to go back in history from 2011 and tally total wins from each club over the last 10 + years. It was quite a lot of information to try and comprehend but once you became comfortable it became much easier to complete. I enjoyed being able to get a really good understanding of all of the teams and analyse what teams have seen a lot of success and what teams have not been as lucky. It made me understand how big the VAFA is as an organisation, and the number of people invested in the organisation, it is nice to see.
During the start of my internship, I was asked to do many various tasks that were asked of me. Whether that was researching the club's history, their current sponsors, or even looking at other rival leagues and seeing what they were doing, and how we could better our current situation, I thought it was extremely
beneficial to explore all different types of tasks and absorb as much knowledge and wisdom as possible. Being able to learn a whole range of different skills, and spend time on different tasks allowed me to grow confident and get a better understanding of what it is like to be in the workforce. Rothschild & Rothschild, (2020) reaffirms this notion by stating students participating in internship programs that foster experiential learning reported higher levels of cultural competency, a greater understanding of their field, and increased confidence in their preparedness for entering the workforce or pursuing higher education.

1. Your preparedness before commencing your internship and how you assimilated into the organisation’s culture.
Before I commenced my internship I went to my Father and asked him how to carry myself, and also help me with simple do’s and don'ts in the workforce environment. He told me that as an intern, you need to do as you're told, do everything right, but also take your time. He told me that they want me to do work that is asked of me in the best way possible and should not have to correct anything. This meant that I had to take my time with my work and be as clear, and close to perfect as possible.
Coming into my internship I knew that I would be doing a lot of unwanted work, however, I was eager and ready to do so, as I know it is something you have to do as an intern joining the workforce. I wanted to come in to help each and every one of my peers and make them and the organisation’s life as easy as I possibly could, whether that was stacking the fridge or getting coffee. I knew it was a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
Working at the VAFA I understood the roles and values that they portrayed. The values were about doing everything for the pure love of the game. I liked the idea of it, as did all the sponsors and stakeholders, as it is not a league that is concerned about money, its two main focuses were football and the community.
Starting at the VAFA, I quickly adapted and became comfortable with the people in the office. It was easy for me to adapt and grow accustomed to their culture, as we shared similar values, which was being avid sports fans, who had a passion for talking and watching sports. The overall vibe in the office is very friendly, and also quite relaxed but quiet. It portrays a perfect balance of good morals and office culture, but also being able to get sufficient work done in the day also.
The organisational culture is extremely fun and inviting and it creates a great environment to have fun and also work hard.
(Yerkes, 2007, p. 4 as cited in Bilginoğlu & Yozgat, 2018) shares this notion relative to the link between good organisational culture and business success stating that the sustainability of the success of an organisation goes through having a culture of engagement that makes work fun. However, a corporate culture that supports laughter, play and celebration doesn’t arise spontaneously in most workplaces. Creating fun at work often involves concentrated effort and most of the time there has to be put in a lot of work behind the scenes to create a fun-filled atmosphere on the job
I went in on Fridays, and it was very relaxed, and a good place to work. Fridays were the day usually everyone got takeaway for lunch, and the most consistent appearance was Tasty Asian. Another great part of working there was every so often just having group exchanges of recent footy, news or gossip, about who we thought was going to win later that weekend. It was a very vibrant place to work as we all had a passion for the game and shared it.

Danny Frawley Centre
This year will be the 2nd year since the launch of the Danny Frawley Centre. We as a football club and a community want to integrate mental health within the club now more than ever.
Our goal is to ensure that all of our fans, staff, and players are in the right headspace, and if they do experience forms of depression, anxiety, loneliness etc. we can help prove the necessary support they vitally need.

We as a football club are the trailblazers in building a centre that focuses primarily on mental and physical health and well-being, and we don't plan to stop there.
Danny Frawley was renowned for his extraordinary strength and voice when it came to battling mental health on a daily basis. He taught us that no matter who you are and what you have been through you need to speak up and seek help.
“Manning up in the past was to suffer in silence, manning up now is to put your hand up”
- Danny Frawley

The ambition this year is to help those in need and help people recover and seek help by combining fitness and treatment to help conquer mental health.
Chelsea Frawley daughter of the late Danny ‘Spud’ Frawley works at St Kilda, and the Danny Frawley Centre and spoke on the upcoming year. “Our aim is to provide a safe and tight-knit environment that helps people speak to professionals and help them with their journey. We want to make sure a Centre is a place that people want to come to to get better and provide a beneficial outcome for both them and their loved ones.”
“We want to help build strength within each and every one of the people who walk through the door, just like Dad was. He was such a strong advocate for speaking up and helping fight mental health, and we want and are going to continue his legacy for generations to come, we're all super proud of him.”
Ultimately the Danny Frawley Centre will be open to everyone and anyone, and we hope that we can foster a community that is inviting, and people legitimately want to come in seek help and spend their time here.

Entry 7
Entry 7: Reflection on the subject with respect to your starting point, new learnings and experiences, and how this will assist you from a career development perspective.
Transition into professional practice has been a unique course when compared to my other subjects, however, I can confidently say that I have learnt just as much if not more than some of my other subjects throughout my studies.
I think the course is important as it gives you the knowledge and confidence to portray yourself as the most appealing applicant possible, and gets you ready to go out into the workforce, being educated on how to make yourself a charming applicant
Starting the course, I was unsure how to properly get myself prepared to enter the workforce, but as time went on, I understood the necessity of making yourself appealing and attractive from a recruitment standpoint. I learnt that you are needing to present yourself professionally and ethically in every way possible. Whether that was your preparation for an interview, your resume or even your LinkedIn profile, it was imperative to make sure that you were able to showcase yourself in the best light.
Some of my profound learnings were how to correctly structure and write a resume that will provide you with the best chance to be chosen out of a bunch of people applying for the same job. I learnt that it was important to advertise and provide evidence of skills and qualifications you have attained that align with the job description or something the organisation values.
I have also learnt that it is integral to have a summary of who you are, what your skills, passions, and qualifications are, and then your career goals. It is vital to perfect this as it provides the employer with a summary of who you are and how you can contribute to their organisation.
The experience of being interviewed in a real-life setting was a beneficial exercise and assignment. It gave you a real-life feel of what an interview is going to be like and providing feedback on what you did well and what you didn’t do so well, will be beneficial to know moving forward and into the business world.
Overall, the course has and will continue to significantly help me become more comfortable and knowledgeable as possible in terms of being ready for the workforce. Being educated on the logistics behind the interview process, and how to market yourself in the most appealing way possible has been vital and will serve as a great navigator for me going forward. I think all the exercises like creating a LinkedIn profile, a summary of yourself, and a mock interview will give me the confidence and the knowledge going forward to be the most appealing candidate I can be.

Entry 6
Entry 6: Critical reflection on your experience of and performance in your interview practices and assessment. How have you developed your technique? What do you need to focus on? Use your peer feedback to assist.
The transition into professional practice subject has helped me immensely, in my preparation to handle myself in an internship situation and helped me learn about the nuts and bolts of the real workforce.
What I was able to learn throughout the semester was the ability to portray myself as an attractive applicant as possible, when being asked “tell me a little about yourself. I learnt that it is important to showcase your education, your skills, and passions, and how this can contribute to achieving your business goals and objectives. It is vital to make yourself stand out and become as appealing as possible, and this course has helped me learn how to do so in that manner.
I have delivered my technique by talking clear and concise and overall improving my confidence and pitch of voice in an interview typesetting. I have learnt to remember a summary to describe yourself to make you as attractive to an organisation as possible. Also, remember the importance of good posture, manners, and eye contact, while talking in an upbeat confident tone.
I felt I was able to answer the questions to my best ability and be upbeat, emphatic, and confident throughout the interview process. I understood that it was vital to stand out from the bunch and make sure that I have done my homework on the interviewee, and the organisation they work for, to put me in the best opportunity to get chosen as an applicant.
What I feel I need to focus on due to both myself and my peers, is not harping on when answering questions, making sure that I answer the question in full, and providing no more no less. It is much more effective if you do not waddle on and provide a stern response in your interviews.
The subject overall taught me a lot of important factors to consider when applying for a job. I learnt that it is important to advocate and portray yourself in a way that echoes their values attitudes and beliefs and delivered and sell yourself as someone that would benefit the business both environmentally, and by achieving business objectives too.

Entry 5
Entry 5: The importance of organisational culture and being a high performing intern and team member.
I have learnt through the course of my degree and more particular this subject, that being a team player and developing organisational culture plays an integral role in both achieving the organisational objectives, but also making an environment as appealing and as positive as possible.
Creating a happy work environment will have a significant impact on the ability to achieve business objectives. Organisational culture is referred to as being able to encourage the overall morale and experience of the employees, through the process of facilitating feelings, of connecting with others, while providing a happy and appealing work environment to deliver the best possible outcomes for a business (Fanggidae, 2018).
The ability of an organisation to install a harmonious work environment directly correlates to reaching business objectives. Greenberg & Barron (2000, as cited in Leithy, 2017, p. 3) reinforces this notion by suggesting that organisational culture plays a prominent role in the success of organisations; it provides a sense of identity to its members, it generates commitment to the mission of the organisation, objectives and goals, and it determines a set of standards expected behaviours among an organisations members, so things and actions are shared and accepted by all members of the organisations.
I have noted that everyone under the organisation has a role to fulfil and a part to play, and everyone motivating and striving for excellence can ensure that the culture and objectives will produce beneficial outcomes.
Being an intern, it is imperative to help in any way shape or form. Since doing my internship for 2 weeks I have realised, that the little tasks and things asked of you are done to make the most important employees’ lives and work much easier.
I have understood that helping them out in any way shape or form by doing little tasks and objectives allows them to have more time to complete larger and more important tasks throughout the week.
Through an internship, you will be counted on to improve the environment by helping a hand, but also learning how to apply yourself in a real work situation. Both aspects will play a role in establishing a good organisational culture and helping the business achieve business objectives.

Entry 4: Critical analysis of your internship applications relative to best practice using peer feedback.
During my internship application process, I learned a significant amount about how to promote yourself and your skills in an aesthetic and attractive format via a cover letter, resume and LinkedIn profile. I have understood that you need to spend hours making sure that you can market and sell yourself in a way that makes you as attractive as possible to the potential interns that you apply for. Through your internship application, it is vital that promote your strengths and skills, your passions, career objectives, and your education and past and current jobs.
Through my course, I researched many different articles, links, and websites, that educated me on the importance of the structure and formatting of cover letters and resumes. I continued to learn the importance of how what you include in your internship application profiles needs to be clear, concise, and of high quality. I also learnt that your applications need to portray the same values and attitudes that the potential job application depicts.
What I struggled with initially was not so much the information and what I included but rather the setting up and formatting of the documents. Additionally, the spacing and the structure also needed work and attention as I had not understood what was considered adequate. It is imperative to make sure the structure of the resume is clear and concise. Frankel (2016, p.20) reiterates this notion by stating that a resume has 10 seconds to impress the viewer, so it is imperative to be able to keep the resume well structured, attractive and clean, to make yourself the best opportunity to get the job.
There was room for improvement regarding various grammatical errors also. It is integral to make sure that your cover letter, resume, and LinkedIn is mistake-free, as it is a digital representation of whom you are marketing yourself to be. By having grammatical errors in your work, it can be depicted and viewed as either ‘lazy’ or ‘careless’ as it shows that you do not take pride in your work and do not seem professional.
I learnt that having spelling and grammatical errors, as well as incorrect formatting, will put you in a negative light against your competitors. The viewer is looking for things to stand out on a resume, this is when well structured, clean and precise resumes play their part, by portraying yourself as a more intriguing target as possible.

Entry 3: The importance of personal marketing, branding and your unique value proposition. What is your brand and what areas do you need to improve?
Throughout this course so far I have understood the importance of personal marketing and branding. To attract opportunities, jobs and business attention, it is imperative to promote your marketing and brand channels, like your LinkedIn, social media, and Resume in a very appropriate and professional manner. I have understood that your online presence whether on social media or LinkedIn, has a significant effect on how you are portrayed and perceived by others. Therefore, it is essential that you are presenting yourself in a positive light, while also showcasing your strengths and skills.
In a more online orientated world, your social media platforms and what you say and do online are watched every step of the way. Human resources teams are known to have look and analysed potential employees’ social media platforms to get a better gauge and understanding of who they are, and what they do outside of the workplace. Johnson agrees with this contention by suggesting that Career Builder indicated that 60% of employers have used social networking information to hire candidates (Information on a candidate’s job qualifications, skills and perception of ability to fit with an organization positively influences hiring, while inappropriate photos, use of alcohol or drugs, and discriminatory comments negatively influence hiring.
It is paramount to be different and portray yourself as someone who is a breath of fresh air, while also being a good fit for an organisation. I have learnt that you need to construct your resume and CV’s in a manner that aligns your values with the organisations you are applying for. It allows you to be depicted as more likeable and viewed as someone who can help add value and benefit their organisation if they were to choose you.
I am trying to represent myself as a very outgoing and confident person, who displays personable and likeable characteristics. Providing a social photo of me out smiling portrays a person who is easygoing and sociable.
The area of focus I want to improve on is my writing skills. I hope to sound more professional and mature in the way I write my work and assignments. I also wish to improve my management skills, I feel that I need to work on helping people and groups orchestrate what is required of them and how to help them deliver their best quality work effectively and efficiently.

Entry 2
Entry 2: Your preparedness for an internship: your skills (and skills gap), and the importance of a resume and cover letter with respect to the current status of your own documents.
This course is a terrific opportunity to learn about the fundamental concepts of making yourself as attractive to an organisation as possible. Analysing your skills and weaknesses in-depth, using resumes and cover letters will help present yourself in a way that will make you appealing, and valuable to a party willing to take you into their business. Within my resume, and cover letter I provided my high school education, my ongoing degree, and all the jobs I have had in my career. I feel it is essential to list my previous and current occupations, as all of my jobs have allowed me to strengthen my public speaking, sales skills, and other related techniques and methods, that help me portray myself as a more appealing applicant within the sports industry. I want to make It transparent that my 2 sales jobs have allowed me to develop skills that enable me to communicate with all various people and situations and depict me as a personable and likeable presence within the workspace.
By preparing for an internship, you must ensure that yourself, your resume, and your cover letter all portray good employability skills. (The Voice of Business, 2007) Refers to employability skills as a set of attributes, skills and knowledge that all labour market participants should possess to ensure they have the capability of being effective in the workplace – to the benefit of themselves, their employer and the wider economy. There is a great need for detail and thought that go into these as These documents serve as important marketing tools that will give a self-portrait or advertisement of you and will present your relative strengths, skills, and experiences to a potential employer. An effective resume or CV will provide an employer with an overview of who you are as a student or young professional, what you know and can do about the position of interest, and what relevant skills, traits, and accomplishments you have achieved at this point in your education or career (Frimpong, 2006).
Leading up to my interview and internship, my focus is to better understand how to articulate a higher quality CV and resume, and how I can help better portray myself as a strong suited applicant to the employer.

Entry 1
Entry 1: About Me page including a brief on your background, sports interests, work experiences and career ambitions. In addition: a reflection on your study performance to date and areas to improve; expectations and aspirations for this subject and your internship.
My name is Charlie Healey I attended Xavier College from 2011-to 2018. My sports interests are basketball AFL Football, followed by boxing and UFC.
Since leaving school I have had two full-time jobs, both in sales. I started working at Simply Energy, from 2019-to 2020 and then moved to Oak Road Estate from 2020 to the Present. During my years in the workforce, I have continuously made improvements to become a better salesman by working 5 days a week for much of the year. It has helped shape me into the worker I one day hope to aspire to be. I have been able to develop many personable skills, like being well-spoken, a sufficient communicator, and understanding the wants and desires of my clients.
Another major skill I have learned is understanding the importance of building rapport with clients, as I privately manage 10 high volume clients, it is imperative to listen, and cater for their needs, which I have done successfully, for an extended period.
I have many ambitions within my career, but my main goal is to be in a senior position at my company in the future, whether that is in sales or marketing, within the sports business industry. I hope to benefit not only my stakeholders but also the industry itself.
Reflection
Since commencing this subject I have started to focus and think more about life after my degree. I hope that I can produce work this semester that will allow me to be an appealing and attractive applicant for future job opportunities. I hope that I can work on my weaknesses, which include attention to fine detail with my writing, and my budgeting for organising my workload.
I am expecting this subject to help me become an even more confident and professional person that will be depicted as an intriguing asset to any company or organisation that elects to propose me an internship. I expect the course to help prep me to become an appealing candidate for any job I one day hope to apply for, through working on understanding what makes me valuable and portraying these characteristics efficiently and effectively. I also expect to work on my weaknesses and help me become a more attractive prospect. importance of developing a critical and reflective attitude among students to prepare them to face particular social and business demands and consequently to enter the labour market successfully (Cambra‐Fierro & Cambra‐Berdún, 2007).
I expect that this internship will help educate me about the sports industry, and the general workforce in general. I hope to be able to learn from the best in the business and provide my assistance where I can.
My aspiration for this internship is to contribute to the people and the organisation I work for and convey the message that I am a willing and hardworking person who is willing to listen and work to ensure that I am contributing to their success, as a company.

A1 Sport and Venue Event Management
Sports event bid analysis for a global sport
Bidding for a mega event is a very complex and complicated process. The bidding process is used as an opportunity for the city or region to market itself that portrays itself as the most appealing applicant to hold the rights. Mobilian, (2016) reasserts this view by suggesting that to secure the rights to a mega event, cities must endure complex and drawn-out processes to promote their city most attractively, they also need to guarantee their ability to meet the requirements and frameworks of the IOC.
There are many vital components to consider before allocating a host city, these include the state of the economy, the public view, whether there is sufficient infrastructure in place, and whether it will produce a beneficial outcome for the IOC, as well as the nation. Policymakers and governments have tremendous tasks of assessing and analysing potential outcomes of economic development, social development, infrastructure planning, and place marketing to determine whether they are the city or region are feasible to host (Chalip & Fairley, 2019). Bidding on a mega sports event is an opportunity for the city and nation to leverage themselves socially and economically.
There have been many instances of nations bidding on a sporting event to change their perception and image on a global scale and leverage themselves into a higher world class, however, it did not go as initially anticipated. Willis, (2021) shares this notion by stating that the hoped-for economic benefit of hosting the games, through achieving a higher world status and increasing spending in their economy through tourism, and business opportunities, did not occur in Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, the bidding process can have a significant negative effect on a nation if they do not successfully operate the Games within the framework and guidelines the IOC provides. Flyvbjerg et al., (2020) reaffirm this impression by stating that the IOC requires hots cities and governments to guarantee that they will cover possible overturns to the giant Olympic budgets if failure to do this can produce large scale financial risks and effects on the economy and the community both in the short term and long term.
All social, economic, cultural, and environmental aspects are also considered to determine whether the host city will produce beneficial outcomes for all major stakeholders. There are astronomical costs for nations to bid on hosting a mega-event like a world cup, and they must confine within the frameworks of the IOC, to be a serious candidate to bid for a mega-event.
