Same here!
Seriously concerned that I have had a brain tumor or something because I don't understand how I didn't realize how hot Theo was 7 years ago. I randomly look at YouTube things and he is so freaking beautiful that it physically pains me. WTF was wrong with my brain?

So, I skimmed the twitter replies and gotta say, shooting the messenger by being so reactionary towards this pretty neutral and non-surprising tweet and immediately canceling Passport is not the answer. You are actually undermining your chances of getting what you want by leaving the platform because PBS’ economic model relies on ‘viewers like you’. Masterpiece isn’t saying “NEVER, THANK YOU NEXT”; it’s remaining positive (in present tense) about the show, and thankful to us. ‘At this time’ is pure business talk and doesn’t necessarily mean the door is shut. I know we’ve been burned before but stick with me:
ONE: We all know PBS needs a production partner to actually fully fund/create anything and seeing as ITV have trust-dropped PBS’ distribution sector (PBS Distribution - who are also partnered with Amazon Prime), they have to find a new pal with the £££. We, their viewership, their revenue stream, are valued enough to say something to, and all they are doing in this tweet is being honest with where they’re at right now. I can’t fault them for that.
TWO: Generally other streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, Britbox, and Acorn are competition for hosting shows (aka buying rights from original broadcasters), especially British drama. However, large broadcasters like BBC enter into co-production agreements with streaming platforms for reasons of funding, distribution, and to cut the competition re: distribution rights. ITV and PBS co-produced Sanditon; Masterpiece hosted it. You know who else hosts Masterpiece? As I said, Amazon Prime. So they could definitely be an option for talks.
It’s crazy in the last few years how much TV commissioning and broadcasting is both an intricate ecosystem and the Wild West. So it is inevitable that it’ll be up in the air for some time as to if anyone will bite for a show like Sanditon getting a second season. Viewing and streaming figures, as well as finances from subscriptions to those services, have more sway on business than the public shouting their demands at a broadcaster - even if that broadcaster needs your money to survive. PBS has heard you, and they do need you. Streaming revenue is where a lot of PBS’ funds come from, which is why it’s also not surprising they haven’t found another co-producer in the months since ITV jumped ship. They couldn’t know viewership before the show aired, therefore they couldn’t know what revenue the show would bring them. Since January, Sanditon has been a success in the U.S., so it may seem obvious after the fact that someone needs to get in a room with a heavyweight platform and smack those figures down on the table, but it will not happen overnight (and guys, the finale aired 2 days ago, let the dust settle).
THREE: There could be some clout in simply asking for a Christmas Special. Committing big money to something is often better in the early stages of production rather than at a stalled middle, so some may not want to produce a full series, whether the scripts are already (semi/fully) written or not. A ‘tie up’ episode might be more palatable financially. 2hrs where Sidney and Charlotte fight, cry, brood, contemplate, confess, forgive, snog, marry, end up with several kids, live wherever, whenever  they’re meant to be together (I’m sorry) - sounds good to me. At the very least, it sounds like enough. And could potentially be made with a better budget-to-production value ratio (’cause remember how the full series set is dismantled now) and less disruption to cast/crew schedules and other commitments than the months-long shoot of an entire 6-8 episode run.
THE POINT IS: Actually applying some patience and logic to understanding the business of television production maybe gives your voice more of a chance? We have a good positive and polite fandom going in Sisterhood, let’s not ruin it now with disappointment, least of all disappointment misdirected at hosts (Masterpiece) whom we should be grateful to for boosting the show’s audience so exponentially. It might be a frustratingly long race, but I still think it’s a race yet to be won.

I need a better way to introduce this but anyway welcome to my weekly thoughts and opinions on Sanditon, this time for episode 8.
Wherever they film this, it is really pretty.
Oh man. The gazing in the street. They're starting it early.
Charlotte trying to convince Georgiana that Sidney isn't so bad was literally me with every single boy I liked in high school.
To be fair, I had really shitty taste in dudes in high school.
Young Stringer has such a cute smile 😭
I love the sassy, snarky relationship Esther and Lady Denham have developed.
Esther's face when she hears Grenn/Babington is there.. And then her faux haughtiness at being upset about the carriage ride. It's just great.
Grenn/Babington and Esther are basically the April and Andy (from Parks and Rec) of the Regency era and you can't convince me otherwise.
I'm also just a sucker for an opposites attract romance.
Jesus H. Christ nobody should just walk in a house looking that good. Chill, Sidney.
THE SOFT CANDLELIGHT
"You should marry that young man." Lady Denham being blunt is my fave.
Anytime Lady Denham drops truth bombs about love and marriage I just want to bow down. They're harsh, but also so valid, especially considering the time period.
The awkward flirting between Sidney and Charlotte is so hilarious to me because they've literally been in more intimate situations than just taking a walk and they don't know how to talk to each other.
ARE THEY GONNA KISS?
I NEED THEM TO KISS.
HE'S GIVING HER THE LOOK.
THE WAY HE SAYS HER NAME.
OH MY GOD WHAT A PERFECT FIRST KISS FOR THEM. THE SPINNING CAMERA AND MUSIC ARE SO DREAMY.
I also envy Rose Williams in this moment.
Charlotte's blue gown is s t u n n i n g.
Side note: Rose Williams has great cleavage.
"I believe she's tamed me." Goooood. I love Grenn/Babington so much.
And then Sidney's comment? Swooning all over the place here.
I seriously feel like a teenage girl watching this dumb show.
Stringer cleans up real good. Like, really good.
Oh no. This poor baby. Let me comfort you, Young Stringer. I'll make you feel better.
The Parkers seriously know how to throw a party.
Tom is so proud and I'm so proud of him.
Ugh. The creepy reverend is back and is immediately flirting with Mrs. Griffiths.
I can't believe Arthur Parker has grown on me. I also have a feeling he's going to grow on Georgiana.
Something bad is going to happen to Stringer's dad because of course it is.
Called it.
Stringer has officially reinstated himself into the good dudes club.
The romantic leads in this show are all so soft and gentle and tender towards the women they love and they give good gazes.
Sidney's small smile while he watches Charlotte dance... I burn, I pine, I perish.
Well, no sign of Clara so far, but Diana has shown up to ensure I'm annoyed by at least one character this episode. And it was all going so well.
THE HAND KISS BETWEEN ARTHUR AND GEORGIANA WAS SO FLIPPING CUTE.
THE BALCONY. I LIVE FOR PARALLELS.
Oh god. The soft lighting. The hushed voices. The sweet smiles. The eye contact.
"I have never wanted to put myself in someone's power before." Sidney has killed me. Killed me. I'm dead.
Edward you shithead.
Grenn/Babington has killed a giant and many wildlings, Edward. Back the fuck off.
Poor Esther.
Mrs. Griffiths sticking up for Esther was a pleasant surprise.
Wait is Arthur gay? That's kind of awesome.
I really want Esther and Charlotte to be friends because they've hardly interacted.
Grenn/Babington's proposal was utter perfection. Just so perfect. And that kiss? Delightful.
Stringer is going to be devastated and I'm going to cry.
I didn't cry but my heart still broke when Stringer saw the fire.
Oh just kidding. I'm crying now.
Why am I crying over this dumb show?
Goddamn it, Tom.
Okay, Diana. Stepping it up a bit. You still annoy me, but a little less in this moment.
I aspire to the facial expressions of Lady Denham.
Sidney holding Charlotte's hands before he leaves is so tender and I'm just dying a slow, slow death from the romance overload in this episode.
Also this is getting ridiculously long and I'm sorry. I just have a lot of thoughts and opinions on this episode.
Mary is so supportive of Tom and while she doesn't mince words, she also tries to build him up.
I totally forgot Charlotte had siblings.
The Parker babies are so cute.
Uh, why does Sidney look stressed?
He did something stupid. I know he did.
HE DID SOMETHING REALLY FUCKING STUPID.
Poor Charlotte. She's always there for other people and nobody is there for her right now.
Esther trying to hide her smile at her wedding is so cute. Bad bitch for life.
Grenn/Babington looks like he's a good kisser.
Lady Denham: lives to make people uncomfortable.
Mrs. C is entirely too pleased with herself.
Punch her in the throat, Charlotte!
Sorry.
Okay, so I'm alright with this morning after scene. It's sexy without being over the top.
"My glands have been yearning for some stimulation." Gross, Arthur 😂
Wait Charlotte's leaving? I missed something.
Is Stringer going to kiss her? He looks like he wants to kiss her.
Granted, he always looks like he wants to kiss her...
Mary is so sweet and so underrated as a character on this show.
WAIT. IS THAT SIDNEY STOPPING THE CARRIAGE?
YES. JUST GRAB HER AND KISS HER AND TELL HER YOU'RE SORRY AND YOU AREN'T GOING MARRY MRS. C.
Oh no. This is unbearably sad. The angst is a lot right now.
Wait. No. Don't say goodbye.
What.
What. No. That... Isn't right.
What.
The.
Actual.
Fuck.
It's Austen the heroine is always supposed to end up with the guy. That's the rules.
IS THAT THE END?
NO. WHAT THE FUCK ANDREW DAVIES.
I'm so mad. So. Fucking. Mad.
Like, my nostrils are flaring I'm so mad.
I just googled to see if there's going to be a second season and there's not????? I'm so irritated.
So. Irritated.
But why.
Whatever.
I'll just wrap this up with my final thoughts about the show, I guess.
Silly and over the top, but still sweet and enjoyable.
Beautiful cinematography and location.
Pretty solid performances all around.
The ending is bullshit.

Amen girl!!
I don’t get why people are confused on why people don’t like Sidney. Man was heavily involved with the slave trade but people scott over that because he’s dReAmYyYyY. That alone makes him unlikeable
1) As a black person - the simplest response is: white people gonna white
2) It's not confusing that his history with slavery makes him unlikable - that's obviously a reason to be suspect, but he's a fictional character who seems to be learning as he goes and if I permanently disliked characters or people who benefited from slavery, then I'd have to disavow every white person ever & that makes living on this earth a bit tricky - they're EVERYWHERE
3) Hot fictional characters get some leniency - yes - I'm ridiculous
4) Thank you for engaging - next time, feel free not to do so anonymously

Sidney yells at Charlotte for 6 straight episodes. Then he spends the next 2 episodes speaking to her in the softest, most velvety tones and I just can't handle the hotness.
Lord Jesus.
We have to have a 2nd season. This is fucking torture.
😭😭😭😭😭😭

Loved loved loved this! I will probably tweet some of your quotes!!
Favorite Things: SANDITON Edition
For some reason, the first season officially ending its television run over here in The States has bummed me out even more, despite my having properly finished the season weeks ago and having already completed at least 5 full re-watches at this point.
I guess it just feels extra scary now about the fate of our dear Sanditonians? Sanditonites? Regency Cinnamon Rolls? Whatever you want to call them - I have this odd feeling of missing them even though I can watch them pretty much anytime I want. Is that weird? Am I weird? Don’t answer that!
Anyway, here’s a random, probably anachronistic list of some of my favorite Sanditon moments & things….
Every adorable Charlotte smile
The way Sidney says “Miss Heywood” whether in annoyance, anger, or secret desire
“New maid?”
Every annoyed Charlotte look - Rose has SUCH an exquisitely expressive face!
THAT SIDNEY EYEROLL
The way Sidney growls “What is it?”
The way Sidney softly questions “What is it?” to Charlotte when she’s birthing the Regatta idea
The way Charlotte & Sidney look so good standing or walking next to each other - they just look like they belong together forever
Young Stringer’s cartoonish accent in comparison to every other character’s “standard” English accent
When Esther’s all “hey you wanna walk with me” and Charlotte agrees but is too slow and Esther looks back at her after literally 3 paces like “BITCH, KEEP UP”
When Esther tells Charlotte she is “that bitch who will poison another bitch in my way” and Esther doesn’t break eye contact or her stride
Arthur talking about eating 6 or 7 slices of toast on the reg like it’s NBD
Arthur offering to make Charlotte some toast
The way Crow yells “BABERS!!” repeatedly
Crow just being an unapologetic drunken fuckboi
The Sidlotte pineapple luncheon party scene - especially how sweet it is that Sidney’s serving Charlotte soup
Arthur having about enough of Lady D’s insolence at his future BFF, Georgiana, and ravaging that rotten ass pineapple in vengeance
When Lady D calls out “Mr. Parker” and all three brothers turn around in unison - each one with their distinct personalities showing through
Tom and Sidney dressing alike for the Regatta - so cute
Basically the whole Cricket match & when Tom says “I really don’t think I am[out]!” (The timbre of his voice sounds exactly like how he spoke in “Love Actually” and I am always here for “Colin - God of Sex!” (But also FUCK TOM PARKER FOREVER, THO)
The way Sidney looks confused and aroused when Charlotte roasts him at the luncheon + tells him to STFU - she’s trying to concentrate - during The Cricket
How Sidney goes from stoic to cinnamon roll throughout 8 glorious episodes
Sidney’s soft voice
Georgiana not giving an ounce of a fuck about Edward & her immunity to his charms
“Who is your favorite poet?”
When it doesn’t look like the laborers will show for The Cricket and Edward’s all “CAN WE GO?!”
Every perfect thing Babington says to Esther
Esther’s hair when she wears it down
The smile Esther gives when she & Lady D are playing cards after she didn’t die
All the satin looks for the rich ladies (Georgi & Eliza’s bitch ass)
All the WIND
The ROWING SCENE
The way Sidney says “Come on” to get Charlotte in the boat
THAT FUCKING ROWING SCENE
Sidney taking liberties and stealing body touches during that entire scene
“Keep your back straight…” & the impish laugh after he’d gotten away with such an intimate touch
Dr. Fuchs needing actual liquor to deal with Arthur & Diana’s silly asses
WET SIDNEY
Charlotte’s luscious wavy hair at the start of Ep 8
The Truest Self speech
All of Sidney’s side eyes & spying on Charlotte’s Young Stringer interactions
Young Stringer’s bestie - that dude has balls and is so ride or die! Always supporting his bud in the fiercest way
The way The Beaufort girls say “Mr. Hankins”
The way the Beaufort girls always fawn over Sidney
“Admiral Heywood” - that whole adorable ass scene
Sidney’s constant posing
The London carriage scenes with Char & Sid as a whole
The London carriage scene where Sidney emphatically says “I-COULD- NOT-HAVE-BEEN-ANY-CLEAR-ER…” That sounds EXACTLY how I imagine Theo actually argues IRL with people 😂
All the dancing
The brothel scene
Honestly - every Char & Sid scene is what I live for
Lady Denham ROASTING TOM’S USELESS NO-INSURANCE-HAVING ASS
Mary being so wrecked that Charlotte is leaving
Lady Susan’s EVERYTHING
THAT👏MOTHER👏FUCK👏ING👏KISS
Sidney being awkward as fuck in general - but especially pre-💋
Charlotte being inquisitive & speaking her mind respectfully but also telling Sidney he sucks when he deserves it
The Char & Georgi friendship
Young Stringer & team winning the Regatta
Every profile shot of Sidney - good lord Theo is good from every angle!
BASICALLY ALL OF IT
Even though things are up in the air and I often say to myself “I kind of wish I never watched Sanditon…” (because FEELS, y'all) I’m so so so glad I did. I haven’t been touched by a show or story or characters like this in a very long time. They will always be with me, I will always have random Sanditon quotes and scenes and images in my brain, and I will adore and cherish this series for the rest of my life.
FINGERS STILL MASSIVELY CROSSED THAT THE GODS BE KIND AND GIVE US A PROPER ENDING IN A SECOND SEASON.

Charlotte would fit so well into the Parker family because Sidney desperately needs somebody to "WTF" with at all of Tom's schemes.
Just imagine the shit talking they'd do all day long.

Look - Sidney side eyeing the fuck outta Young Stringer after he tells him Old Stringer is ok & he needs to see him immediately is what I am forever here for. YS touched Charlotte's hands before Sidney did & he will never let YS off the hook for that. NEVER.
Sidney's like: IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR DIRTY, PLEBEIAN HANDS OFFA MY BAYBEEEEEE....!!
