You're gay and you like football. Respect, man.

Damn...
I don’t think so. I had my hopes higher than yours since the 49ers were in the Super Bowl and my disappointment is bigger cause it was three damn points, just three damn points and we would be champions. Ugh, the feels…

The Giants didn't even make it to the Superbowl, so I'm pretty sure I should be more disappointed than you.

Damn...
San Francisco didn’t won the Super Bowl cause the referees suck. Am I aloud to cry of frustration now or would that be too dramatic?

Charlie chuckled at the twinkle in Briar's eyes. She must have been the most adorable little girl in Newburn. "Bwiaw." She said with a giggle, slightly mocking the baby who couldn't pronounce her name. It was cute, though. "I just want to eat your little face." She said to Briar, before turning back to the mommy. "That seems like such a hassle. You shouldn't have to bring her to class with you. I mean, I understand not wanting to leave her with some stranger, but maybe you and I could get together with her sometimes, so she can get used to me, then I can watch her while you go to class. I'm sure it'd be easier." Charlie suggested. Lucia shouldn't have to bring the baby out with her. "Do you have a job?" She asked, still holding the baby's hand.
She lead the mother and daughter through the entrance and into the main room. where there was a skate rental booth. Charlie didn't own a pair herself, so she normally settled for the rentals, "There isn't much to do in Newburn. Ice skating and drinking are some of the only things you can do around here." She joked as she walked up to the booth. She knew the man behind the counter. She knew everyone in the rink. She knew everyone in the town. Newburn was tiny, and after living there your whole life, it's hard not to know everyone. "You know the deal, Harry." She said to the man with a chuckle, and he nodded, then handed her a pair of pink ice skates. They were her favourite pair, and the man always held them on the side for her.

Pretty swell. I've broken about five of mother's vases. I'm pretty sure she's going to kick me out if I brake one more. But they're just so gaudy.
So.

Cock talk aside, how’s life?

Charlie watched Lucia stand up and take her daughter in her arms. Her heart fluttered a bit when she saw the adorable little girl's face, and heard her chanting some rendition of her name. "Hello, Briar." She smiled at the little girl on her friend's hip. Charlie lifted her hand to the baby's, and played with the little girl's fingers, "I'm so happy to finally meet you!" She exclaimed in her cliche 'this-is-how-I-talk-to-cute-children' voice. If there was one thing that could bring out emotions in her, it was children.
"I bet you're going to be great on this ice." Charlie commented, watching the little girl smile. She turned to Lucia, "Oh my God, she's so adorable." Briar just seemed like the kind of child that was easy to handle. "You must be an excellent mother. I could never do this twenty four - seven." She admitted. As good as the baby seemed, having a kid in general is a handful. "Do you still go to school?" She asked, before slowly starting towards the building.

Charlie slipped on her black boots with the fur on the inside. As the sun went down, she knew it would get colder. She grabbed her jacked and put it on over her sweater. She looked in the mirror and adjusted her coat, then lifted her hood up over her head. She fixed her hair and walked out of the bathroom to make her way down stairs. She took the pair of keys off the wall and slipped them into her pocket, "Ma. I'm taking the car." No reply. Charlie had only gotten her license a month back, but she'd been taken her mother's car ever since she could remember. The trick is, having a mom who is too busy basking in her own self-pity to care for her children.
She slammed the door as always. She didn't know why she did it, really. All she knew was that she'd constantly find herself watching her mother's window, wondering if she'd ever check to make sure her baby girl was okay. Charlie sighed and started up the car. She started for the ice rink, and a smile appeared on her face. She was going to meet her friend's baby girl, Briar, and she could only imagine what the girl would look like. Judging by her mother, Charlie knew the toddler would be gorgeous. She pulled up outside of the ice rink and got out, looking around excitedly for Lucia. When she noticed a blonde woman sitting on a bench with a child, she rushed towards them, "Lucia!" She called out with a smile.

When Charlie heard him say she could, she smiled and reached down into her bag and took out her pack. "Want one?" She asked as she slipped one out of the pack and in between her lips. She faced the pack towards the boy, so he could grab one if he wanted. Charlotte pulled out her lighter with her free hand and lit up her own cancer stick. She dropped it into her bag before she opened the window, so the smoke wouldn't pollute the car.
"I think the real question is, why not Montauk?" She turned to the driver with a smile. Although she would never admit it, every now and then her thoughts would go askew, and what made sense to her, didn't make sense to others. However, she knew if she explained herself, Mason would understand. "Granted, Seaside is much closer. But, you can't live your life like every average Joe, Mary, or Sally. How do you expect to live a long, exciting, and satisfied life if you aren't willing to cross the line once in a while?" Charlie asked before she took a drag of her cigarette.

Charlie was only half way done with her cigarette when Mason pulled up. She wasn't expecting him to be there so quickly. Then again, most of her other friends would take their time getting there; and Mason was obviously not like her other friends. He wasn't even like the kind of person she would normally talk to, but something told her he needed a chance. She walked up to the car and smiled as she took her last drag before she flicked the last half of her cigarette.
"Hello." She said simply as she climbed into the car. Charlie shut her door and crossed her legs the second she sat down, since she had a skirt on - per usual. She pulled the seat belt across her lap and buckled it before nodding her head to Mason as a sign that she was ready. "I wasn't sure if I was allowed to smoke in your car." She let go of her purse and it feel next to her feet.

She walked outside and slammed the door behind her. Charlie walked up to the curb and sat down to light her cigarette. Sure, she was only seventeen, and her mom could see her if she simply looked out the window, but the teenager realized long ago that her mother would never be concerned enough to actually check on her. So, she lit her cigarette and took the first drag. She sang quietly to pass the time before Mason Lively would show up at her door step and whisk her away to a land, unknown.
