Glommer is the Lunar God, yes really and let me explain why.

To mention the more obvious stuff

He only appears when the Moon is fully in view

He provides the exact opposite of the darkness, giving sanity to those around him

Killing a god would probably get you in trouble, which is why killing Glommer gives you 50 naughtiness points

And then with less obvious stuff

Glommer, like Charlie and Maxwell, has a statue in every world, hinting at his powers being on the same level as theirs, if not more due to the fact that there's only one you cannot recreate.

Wormwood came from the Moon and is quite a silly guy, so presumably his creator is also a silly fella (yes, I'm saying Glommer is Wormwood's Dad, maybe he doesn't know it, but he does recognize him to some extent, with his quote for Glommer's statue being "That you, nice friend?")

Many quotes refer to Glommer as an insect, similar to the "Bug People" AKA The Ancients, meaning Glommer may have been around for much longer than anyone or anything else in the constant. In conclusion, Glommer is the needed God of Light and Good within the constant and will reign supreme after the Shadow v Lunar War.

I've wanted to share a bunch of little tidbits about my Tea and Circuits series for a while, so I've finally decided to compile them somewhere! This is a pretty long post, so everything is below the cut.

First and foremost, the entirety of Tea and Circuits is based off of in-game rolplaying that my partner and I do. Every time we play DST together, we always roleplay, with me as Wilson and her as WX-78, because it's more fun that way for us.

The first fanfiction I ever wrote, "The Rollback," was based on something that happened to us in-game. We decided that, for continuity's sake, any time we had to roll back the world, one of the two of them would remember it and the other one wouldn't. This one time, we had this really wild series of events where we ran out of food, there was a hound attack, I as Wilson was picking cacti unarmored before all of the chaos started because it was entertaining to WX-78, so my health was already low and we kept dying over and over. So, we rolled back the world, and the roleplay after that point was really interesting. I don't remember what led me to write about it exactly, to be honest.

Other than that, "Maybe I Do Care," "Early Return," and "An Unfortunate Trip" are all based on in-game events.

"An Unfortunate Trip" was particularly funny, since it was when my partner (as WX-78) was trying to jump onto a boat with lure plants on it and fell into the water. Genuinely just the plot of the fic. It sounds like such an absurd concept. When I reread the fic, I was like "this must seem like I pulled it out of my ass to everyone else."

Instead of the hurt/comfort that ensued, she had me roll back the world. (I swear we don't do that as much as this post makes it seem like... these are just specific circumstances. </3)

I also wanted to touch on a writing style that I started with, when writing from the perspective of WX-78. I'm sure it's not hard to notice that (in this series) Wilson's actual name is not used in any story from WX-78's point of view except for if they actually say it. My logic back then was that WX-78 didn't want to assign value to this fleshsack they're forced to survive with, so they would only refer to him in their mind as degrading nicknames. In hindsight, it does make the story a bit hard to read. However, for continuity's sake, I will continue to write them like that, but only in the Tea and Circuits series. I haven't done that anywhere else, and I don't plan to.

Also, a lot of the behavior of the characters, especially in the first few stories, are based off of the way me and my partner act. There was no good reason to put WX-78 in a sweater (in "Early Return" and "Noticed") except for the fact that my partner likes to dress WX-78 up in sweaters. So, it became a Thing, especially in "Noticed" where it's relevant to the plot. Same with Wilson acting like a wet cat. (That one is all me.)

Their heights are based on us as well! Wilson is much taller than WX-78 in Tea and Circuits. My partner is 6'1 and I am 5'6, and who doesn't love a good height difference? The fact that it's inverse (i.e I play Wilson but he's the taller one in the series) is also a bit funny, considering that our personalities are more similar to the other person's character.

So basically, I'm writing about myself and my relationship when I write those two. I've said this before, but WXson is very dear to my heart because I so heavily associate it with my relationship.

In conclusion, I really like WXson. :)

Hi! I have been hooked on dst lately and I have also been hooked on wxson, so I wanted to thank you for your service on literally being 50% of the wxson fics on ao3 <3

Also, what are your favorite wxson tropes? How would you explain their dynamic? Are there certain ways you do not like them portrayed, or do you like any kind of wxson?

Thank you again for sharing your works! Something about the way you write them makes me happy, but I do not know how to put it into words.

LMAOOOO of course, I have fun doing it as well. (At this moment, about 25% of the WXson fics on AO3 are mine, but I see your point haha.) I have a lot to say about this, so my answers are below the cut!

My favorite WXson tropes... Hmm, it's kind of hard. - I really like the whole 'Wilson is a pathetic manfailure + WX-78 looks on and shakes their head' thing. - Contrary to that, though, I also like when WX-78 has to show some vulnerability reluctantly, and Wilson actually shows tenderness (instead of the mocking they expect from their regular banter.) - Oh, did I mention banter?? My absolute FAVORITE thing ever about WXson is the banter, because you can make them argue about literally everything. They are both headstrong (although Wilson is a tad bit more muted, but I like to imagine WX-78 gets very good at pushing his buttons just to see his reactions.) As for their dynamic, first and foremost, I see these two in a QPR. I don't think they particularly feel romance for each other, but it's a deeper bond than friendship. I'd say it's sort of like a relationship with a feisty cat. Neither are particularly forthcoming about their affections for one another, but Wilson is definitely the one to reach out for affection more, and they both enjoy each other's presence (even if WX-78 won't admit it in simple terms.)

I also see WX-78 as sort of a tsundere.* Like, they are very brash and rude to Wilson and make comments that they sometimes take too far, but they are affectionate in their own way. They will NEVER utter the words "I love you," but it seems like no matter what Wilson is doing, they always have to be in the room or be somewhere with him. They somehow always end up on the same chore rotations, etc. They'll go out of their way to give him things he likes, or make him his favorite foods, etc. I can't decide if I like the idea of them absolutely hating themself for doing something for a disgusting fleshsack, or if they use it and hold it over his head as a "HA HA, I DID SOMETHING FOR YOU."

As for Wilson... I think he honestly just enjoys their company, and treats them like a close friend. Well, for the most part. This is probably (definitely) me projecting, but I kind of see him as very affectionate due to him being touch starved and lonely. But... he's reluctant to ask for it. So he'll come up to them and stand just a bit closer than is socially acceptable, whenever they're walking near each other their hands will "accidentally" bump into each others' until WX-78 makes a move to grab his hand, etc. When they're in a tent together, he'll lay close to them so their arms touch, but he won't ask to cuddle. WX-78 has to make the move themself, and they like that for two reasons. One, they get to decide when affection is given, since between the two of them, they're the more touch-averse. So it's based upon their comfort level. And two, it gives them something to hold over his head and make fun of him for.

"DO YOU WANT SOMETHING FROM ME?" "No, no, nothing..." "ARE YOU SURE? YOU'RE ACTING QUITE TOUCHY..." Something like that. I think WX-78 simultaneously does and doesn't like to be seen with him (as in, people knowing that they're in a relationship). On one hand, ew, holding affection for a fleshling. But on the other hand, they're like, I OWN THIS FLESHLING. HAHA. I think Wilson is also very adamant that they are equals and that they don't own him. That could potentially be a point of tension, but I don't think being in a relationship would tame Wilson's independence, you know? And as for Wilson, I think he doesn't particularly care whether it's known they're in a relationship or not.* As for PDA, I'm really undecided. On one hand, again, WX-78 would probably enjoy having it known that they own this particular fleshling. But Wilson's got this whole 'gentleman' thing going on, and I'm wondering if he'd feel it was indecent to show any kind of affection in public. Either way, I do particularly enjoy having them display PDA, just because I think it could be funny if the kids went "Ewwww, they're holding hands again!!!" but I don't think it's very in-character for them. ...I like it anyway. As for ways that I don't like them portrayed... I am not a fan of when people tone down either one of their personalities to suit the other one better. IMO, the best thing about them is that they butt heads. I don't like when Wilson is reduced to a defenseless baby that just sits there and takes their insults. Inversely, I also don't like when WX-78 has their personality changed so that they can work with Wilson. I think that if you have to alter the character severely for a ship to work, you maybe should just pick a different ship.* I also don't like reading fics about breakups/angst with a bad ending, but that's just a personal preference and not a grievance against the portrayal. It makes me way too sad, and I mostly read fanfiction for fluff. (The 'i watched my lover die' series by PhoeniXXXTalon on AO3 absolutely broke my heart. They were so fucking good, genuinely, but both of them made me cry 😭😭😭) As a last thing, I just wanted to state that WXson is an important ship to me because it hits close to home. I really really relate to how their relationship is often portrayed as different or unusual compared to other relationships, because that's how my relationship with my girlfriend is. Portraying relationships where one or both parties are aro and/or just experience feelings differently just makes me feel represented. I also associate the characters with me and her, which is the reason I can't read breakup fics (even though they're so well written...)
